Linnagond is the Peterborough chapter of the Amtgard LARP system.
Tropes:
- Almighty Janitor: Giltenlochs von Dreisbar is illiterate oat farmer who can bust out ancestral armor in an uncommon occurrence.
- Mad Doctor: Hanweir is a scientist who casually asks for portions of people's souls, may have unlocked the ability to clone people, and has essentially created modern crime scene blood testing, all while never dropping her chipper, upbeat tone. The nickname of "Hanweird" is richly deserved.
- Mook Maker: The bone lords (such as Garfield) are able to "awaken" people's skeletons, and there is seemingly no limit to how frequently they can create more enemies.
- The Needless: Being some weird Elemental.... thing, Francis doesn't eat or sleep... so long as he's connected to the ground, leeching elemental energy for all his needs.
- Shout-Out: Giltenlochs, who grows oats. Remind you of anything?Not to mention Styxx and his demigod twin brother, who are a reference to Castor and Pollux, respectively, and Francis' "Immortal and needless on the ground" shtick is remarkably similar to the legendary Antaeus.
- Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: At this point, it would be easier to list all the monsters Styxx hasn't been turned into.
- Time Abyss: A few of the older immortals fit this trope quite well. Styxx is over 10,000 years old and was alive before Atlantis sunk. Francis claims to be ~8000 or so, but he perceives time on a geological scale, and doesn't know his age in human years.
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Francis hates any scenario that leaves him not standing on stone or earth for long periods of time. This, of course, means that he adamantly refuses to get on any kind of boat.
