  • Bad Girls: The climax of the movie is done in the style of the final shoot-out of The Wild Bunch, including the machine gun.
  • Blind Fury has two characters named Lyle and Tector.
  • Bull Durham: Ron Shelton has said main character Crash Davis is an Expy of Pike Bishop in that they both love something that doesn't love them back.
  • Gangs of New York: The scene where people are thrown through the window is a reference to the opening shoot-out of the movie.
  • John Milius has referenced this movie in a few movies he's written and/or directed:
    • In Big Wednesday, the scene where the four main characters show up at the draft office was inspired by the Team Power Walk near the climax of The Wild Bunch.
    • Extreme Prejudice is an Homage to Sam Peckinpah in general and The Wild Bunch in particular, especially the shoot-out at the end.
    • The final shoot-out in The Wind and the Lion was also inspired by the shoot-out in The Wild Bunch.
  • The Killer (1989): The Mexican Standoff between Jong and Ying in Jenny's apartment was inspired by the movie, as was the pep talk between them before the final shoot-out.
  • Pulp Fiction: The robbery at the diner at the beginning, along with the freeze-frame, is an Homage to the beginning of the film.

Live-Action TV

  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer:
    • In the first season episode "The Harvest", Buffy tells Giles, Willow and Xander as they're going into the Bronze to fight vampires, "Don't go all Wild Bunch on me".
    • In the second season episode "Bad Eggs", two vampires that come to town are named Lyle and Tector.
  • Monty Python's Flying Circus: In the third season sketch Sam Peckinpah's Salad Days, Eric Idle plays the host and he mentions The Wild Bunch.
  • The Wire: In the third season episode "Dead Soldiers", the shoot-out between Omar and his gang and the Barksdale gang was inspired by the shoot-out at the end of The Wild Bunch.
