  • The Areas of My Expertise includes Wolfe in its entry on "Idiosyncrasies of the Great Detectives".
  • In the Dragaera novel Jhegaala, Vlad is bedridden and is using his familiar, Loiosh as his "legs". He comments that this could work well as an arrangement, leading Loiosh to comment that Vlad would soon end up several hundred pounds heavier.
  • The anthology EuroTemps includes the short story "If Looks Could Kill", starring the overweight detective Caligula Foxe and his legman Charlie Goodman, along with counterparts of all the other series regulars.
  • The Garrett, P.I. fantasy series, at least in the early novels, has Garrett as part of a dynamic based on Wolfe's household, with Garrett as Archie and the Dead Man as a Wolfe with an unimpeachable reason for never leaving his office.
  • Victorique, teh heroine of Gosick is Nero Wolfe as a cute, small girl. She practically never leaves her library tower home but is a fantastic detective solving mysteries that are brought to her, with Japanese exchange student Kazuya Kujo as her Archie.
  • In the Grand Central Arena novel Shadows of Hyperion, a duel takes place in a virtual reality environment depicting a ruined New York City, and much of it takes place in and around an abandoned brownstone with the same interior layout as Nero Wolfe's home.
  • The Lord Darcy novel Too Many Magicians features counterparts of Wolfe and his household in the form of the Marquis of London, his assistant Lord Bontriomphe, etc.
  • John Lescroat's duology Son of Holmes and Rasputin's Revenge heavily implies the titular son of Sherlock Holmes becomes Nero Wolfe, with his insistence on drinking beer, his use of "Satisfactory," his love for food (even eating shad roe at one point, a popular Wolfe dish) and his large frame. At the end of Rasputin's Revenge it's even stated he intends to move to New York to become a consulting detective.

  • In Peter Is the Wolf, the supporting cast includes a werewolf named Nero, along with other characters named Goodwin and Cramer.
