The Nefertiti Bust is one of those art pieces that occasionally shows up in various media. An argument is to be made that every time the Bride or an expy of hers shows up, the bust is referenced, but for any of that see the monster page.

Advertising

  • Ancient Aliens: A 2019 promo starts in a museum room occupied only by the Nefertiti bust. As the camera approaches, it cracks open to reveal an alien.

Anime & Manga

  • Red River (1995): The bust of Nefertiti only has one eye because the eye was made out of a piece of jewelry that had sentimental value to Nefertiti, and there was only enough material for one eye. When the sculptor points this out, Nefertiti replies "Who cares? It's just a bust, it's not like it's very valuable anyway."

Comic Books

  • Disney Mouse and Duck Comics: In "Burglary in Berlin", part of The European Adventure multiparter, Mickey and Donald spring into action when the Phantom Blot steals the Junior Woodchucks Guidebook at the Altes Museum. The villain gets away with it by knocking the Nefertiti bust from its pedestal, forcing Mickey and Donald to save it instead of going after him.

Films — Live-Action

  • Nefertiti, Queen of the Nile: After being married off to Amenophis IV despite her romance with the sculptor Tumos, Nefertiti and Tumos get to meet again when he is selected to make a sculpture of the queen. This sculpture is the Nefertiti bust and its production takes from halfway in the story to the end, being finished in time to be part of the scenery during the climactic battle.

Literature

  • The Egypt Game: A replica of the Nefertiti bust found in an antique store is what inspires three children to start the titular Egypt Game. The fourth member to join the game, Elizabeth, is invited because the other three think she resembles the bust.

Music

  • Barbra Streisand: In the TV special "Color Me Barbra", Streisand dresses up as Nefertiti as per the look of the bust (so without uraeus and strips) during the song "Where Or When". As she walks around, she passes by a copy of the Nefertiti bust.

Video Games

Western Animation

  • The Simpsons: In "The Last Traction Hero", Homer discovers some sort of torture chamber with a Wicked Cultured flair in what is supposed to be Burns's bathroom. One curiosity present is the Nefertiti bust (or a replica). Homer leaves and does not ask questions.
