- Advice and Trust: In chapter 8 when Asuka tells Shinji he is going to spend his pilot pay:Asuka: "This is a proper date, dear baka, so you're paying for everything. Spend some of that munificent Pilot's pay for once."
Shinji: "........We get paid?" - Chapter 3 contains a brief gag about Toji's father (a carpenter who lost a couple of fingertips in a workplace accident) and yubitsume. In Neon Metathesis Evangelion, another Follow the Leader fic by an Advice and Trust reader equally disappointed by the lack of "Israfael Special", it turns out that Toji's dad really is in the Yakuza. This is probably not a coincidence.
