  • The end credits of Snatched (2017) play during a scene of Emily and Linda dancing to "Dancing with Myself."
  • In A Boy Called Po, Po's sensory integration therapist plays "Dancing with Myself," Po's favorite song. Later, Po dances and sings it in his imaginary world. At the end of the movie, David gets him Billy Idol tickets.
  • Idol cameoed As Himself in the 1998 film The Wedding Singer (which took place in 1985). Also, after Robbie was stranded at the altar, the "White Wedding" music video briefly plays in the background.
  • During a montage of Gia's successful career in Gia, the background song is "Dancing with Myself".
  • Nick from Pushing Tin listens to "Dancing with Myself" in the car on the way home from work.
  • Angel/Archangel's blond curly mane was modeled after Billy Idol's in X-Men: Apocalypse.

  • Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer is said to have been the basis for Idol's look. This was lampshaded in a season 7 episode, "Sleeper."
    Buffy: I'm looking for this guy. Bleach-blonde hair, leather jacket, British accent? Kind of shallow, but in a hot way?
    Bouncer: Yeah, yeah, I know the guy. Billy Idol wannabe?
    Buffy: Actually, Billy Idol stole his look from... never mind.
  • In the Saved by the Bell episode "Screech's Woman", Bambi (really Zack in disguise) orders Screech to follow "her" rules of loving her. When she orders him to "Straighten his hair and dye it blond", Screech obligingly replies, "Consider me Billy Idol!"
  • The panelists discuss him and his music in the I Love The 80s: Strikes Back 1984 episode.
