- In Dont Talk To Irene, the titular character is a Geena Davis superfan who holds imaginary conversations with her when in need for encouragement and advice, through a poster for this movie - Davis herself provides the voiceovers for these conversations.
- In Undrafted, the D-Backs sing the All-American fight song to bond as a team before their game against the Bulldogs.
- In Get a Grip, Vivy Cohen!, Vivy writes to VJ about crying over a nasty comment from a teammate. She says of the "no crying in baseball" line, "That's a good rule. But I never realized it would be so hard to follow." VJ writes back, "As much as I enjoy A League of Their Own, that line is horse manure. If you don't have emotions on the baseball field, then you don't care enough."
