Recap / Yu Gi Oh VRAINS Ep 76 Memories Brought Back

Go To

Aoi, who is starting to have doubts about SOL Technologies's methods, starts searching for Aqua. On the other hand, Blood Shepherd has found out where Aqua is. He goes after Aqua and attacks her, but Ghost Girl then appears before him and blocks his path.

This episode contains the following tropes:

  • Armor-Piercing Question: Blood Shepherd coaxes Ghost Girl into deciding whether or not she wants to go through her Speed Duel with him even with a player killer rule in place. Ghost Girl, however, accepts those conditions without hesitation.
  • Bearer of Bad News: Revolver personally informs Yusaku and Ai about Earth's demise at the hands of SOL Technologies. Let's just say that if it wasn't for his bond with Yusaku, Takeru, and Kusanagi, Ai jumping ship to Lightning's side is looking to be a real possibility...
  • Big Damn Heroes: Blue Girl arrives at the last minute to block an unavoidable attack intended for Aqua, and quickly escapes with her.
  • Infodump: The episode reveals more about Aoi's childhood and her history with her only childhood friend Miyu (who is also revealed to be a victim of the Lost Incident/Hanoi Project, and is Aqua's Origin).
  • Taking the Heat: Aoi takes the blame for losing Miyu's mother's ring, but it doesn't end well for her, as she is warned by Miyu's mother not to get involved with her daughter ever again.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: After Aoi takes the blame for losing Miyu's mother's ring, not only do the two girls never see each other again ever since, Miyu was also abducted as a subject for the Lost Incident/Hanoi Project at some point afterwards. Aqua insisted, however, that Aoi saved Miyu rather than doomed her.
  • Wham Line:
    • Aqua revealing that her Origin, Miyu, was one of the victims of the Lost Incident.
    • Ghost Girl addressing Blood Shepherd as "brother".
