Recap / Yu Gi Oh VRAINS Ep 72 Clear Perfection

Go To

Bohman, who has evolved even further, shows off his new Hydradrive tactics against Playmaker. Playmaker tries to predict Bohman's actions, and also receives some advice about how to deal with Bohman from Ai. A fierce battle unfolds between the two as they try to outwit one another!

This episode contains the following tropes:

  • Armor-Piercing Question: Bohman indirectly questions Ai as to why he manipulated Playmaker into attempting to quickly finish off Bohman in a single turn.
  • Deliberate Injury Gambit: Invoked. Ai convinces Playmaker to equip "Suspend Wand" to "Cyberse Magician", which not only prevents the equipped Monster from being destroyed by battle, but its controller takes double the amount of Battle Damage from battles involving the equipped Monster. However, not only does Playmaker use "Suspend Wand" to allow "Cyberse Magician" to make a second attack, he follows up by sending "Resume Mace" to the GY to double its original ATK, then (after gaining a 1000 ATK boost from battling a Link Monster) sends "Suspend Wand" to the GY to boost "Cyberse Magician's" ATK equal to the damage Playmaker took from the first battle between "Cyberse Magician" and "Trident Hydradrive Lord", for a total of 7900 ATK.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Subverted. Had it not been for "Cyberse Magician's" damage halving Effect, Playmaker would've quickly blown the Duel from allowing himself to take Battle Damage from the first battle between "Cyberse Magician" and "Trident Hydradrive Lord".
  • One-Hit Kill: Defied. Before Playmaker could finish off Bohman with "Cyberse Witch", Bohman activates "Property Flash", forcing the Battle Phase to end (on top of adding three Property Counters to the card).
  • Relative Button: Bohman claims to have contributed to the destruction of the Cyberse World, and also gloats that the Cyberse World's inhabitants cried as they burned to their demise. Said gloating pisses off Ai big time.
