Rex and Weevil decide to turn evil. Meanwhile, Yugi and co. find out they need to go to Florida.
Tropes:
- Attention Whore: The Pharaoh tries to divert attention to him while his friends are busy with exposition to get everybody to contribute to his pity party.
- Call-Back: Kaiba alludes to the bad experience he had with the exceedingly long staircase in Season 3.
- Call-Forward: Kaiba wants to build a Space Elevator, which he will have done by the 2016 movie.
- Don't You Dare Pity Me!: Inverted and Played for Laughs. Although Yami keeps saying he'd be embarrassed if someone pitied him, it's pretty obvious by his tone and his friends not paying attention to him that he wants people to feel sorry for him.
- Do Not Do This Cool Thing: Téa admonishing Joey for punching Yami, because kids might see it and imitate it. Joey tells her that no one copies stuff they see on television. Cut to Tristan strangling Duke:Duke: Tristan... why.. are you... choking me?!Tristan: Joey made this seem really cool!
- The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Kaiba reacts like a jilted lover when he finds out that Yugi lost a card game to someone other than him.Kaiba: YUGI LOST A CARD GAME?! I thought we had something special, Yugi! What, is our rivalry just one big joke to you?! I committed to beating you in a card game! And I thought I could rely on you to be true to me as your most hated enemy! But I guess I was wrong!
Yami: Kaiba, it's not what it looks like--
Kaiba: I bet you say that to all the duelists! If I had had parents, I bet they would have told me that you were no good for me! And let me tell you one last thing. All those times I got angry and declared that I would have my vengeance on you? I WAS FAKING!
[Kaiba angrily hangs up] - Shoot the Shaggy Dog: By the time Yami arrives back from his duel with Rafael, he questions why Professor Hawkins is already safe after being kidnapped. You know, the reason he went to duel Raphael in the first place.
- Stepping Out to React: Professor Hawkins reveals himself to be completely fine, with Yami Yugi noting that his entire duel to rescue the professor in the first place ended up being completely pointless and that he lost Yugi's soul for nothing. Yami Yugi then excuses himself so he can yell into a pillow for five minutes, during which viewers can hear his muffled screams while Hawkins explains his findings on Atlantis.
