Zane decides to challenge Camula. Unfortunately Camula has an ace up her sleeve.
- Big Brother Instinct: Zane surrenders to Camula to save Syrus.
- Exact Words: Illusion Gate requires Camula to offer a soul to the Sacred Beasts if she somehow still loses the duel. Chazz tells her it's what she gets for taking Crowler's soul. Camula points out she's required to give a soul, not necessarily hers.
- Face Death with Dignity: Syrus is not too scared of his soul being fed to the Sacred Beasts and appears to be mildly happy since it would make him the hero.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Zane summons Cyber End Dragon with Power Bond on his first turn, something that Syrus notes is unlike him and seems like he is just playing the card instead of using it like he always taught hum. This nearly increases Camula's life points by 8,000; until Zane uses De-Fusion to stop his own attack and prevent him from taking damage from Power Bond. But then it gets Double Subverted when Camula uses Illusion Gate to take control of Cyber End Dragon for herself, since even though Zane fused and un-fused the card in a single turn he still technically used it and thus she is allowed to Special Summon it herself and use it to attack Zane.
- More Expendable Than You: The remaining key guardians all argue over who's going to duel Camula next, each student wanting to be the one who takes the risk.
- Sadistic Choice: Camula gives Zane one, he wins the duel but sacrifices Syrus to the Sacred Beasts or lose the duel and his soul to Camula's soul doll to save Syrus.
- You Can Barely Stand: Chazz says this when Jaden insists he's going to duel Camula to save Zane and Crowler. To make his point, Chazz throws a sheet over him... and Jaden's to weak to even get out from under it!
