Rumors about a vampire have been going around school, the cast learn the rumors may not be rumors after all, when they're challenged for their spirit keys.
- Badass Teacher: After getting a small taste of Camula's skill, she tells him he doesn't need to go through with this and gives him the chance to step down in exchange for letting her duel Zane. Crowler refuses to put any of his students at risk to her.
- A Day in the Limelight: First time since the first episode where Crowler duels and is the good guy in the duel.
- Didn't Think This Through: When Crowler summons his Ancient Gear Beast, he attacks Zombie Werewolf when Vampire Bat would've been a better target with less attack points and causing Zombie Werewolf to lose attack points which he could attack next turn for more damage.
- Everyone Has Standards: Jaden is none too happy over Camula tossing Crowler's soul doll on the ground, effectively dismissing it as garbage.
- Small Name, Big Ego: Alexis basically calls Crowler this, saying he talks a good game, but plays a terrible one.
- Tempting Fate: When Camula cites the conditions of the duel that if she wins, her opponent's soul is placed in a doll. Crowler asks if that's all, and asks if she would like something for her mummy or a chew toy for her pet werewolf. Camula warns him to be careful what he wishes for. It isn't until Crowler takes a direct attack from her Vampire Bat does he finally figure out everything's real.
- Worf Had the Flu: Jaden is bedridden in the school's infirmary after his duel against Nightshroud in the previous two episodes.
