"A Romantic Getaway and a Germanic Meat-Based Diet" is an episode of Young Sheldon that first aired May 18, 2023.
Mary is filling out passport applications for her and Sheldon, when George Sr. asks about the possibility of him going to Germany instead of her. George says that he has the summer off, that he will really enjoy the beer and sausage, and that he already has experience traveling (from his time in the Army). George later tells this to Sheldon.
Meanwhile, Sheldon is already observing Germany's time zone. When he gets up at midnight (7:00 am in Germany), he sees Missy sneaking out with Tonya and smoking. Sheldon later confronts Missy, but Missy says that if she gets grounded, neither Mary nor George will want to spend the summer away from her.
Sheldon initially follows Missy's advice. But when Mary and George are arguing over who is going to Germany, and they ask Sheldon about his preference, he cracks from the pressure and tells Mary and George about Missy sneaking out. Pastor Jeff sends Tonya back to her parents' house (which isn't much of a punishment for her), while Missy is grounded for the whole summer. Later, Sheldon comes to talk to Missy, and she slams the door in his face.
Meanwhile, Mandy has a couples spa ticket from her baby shower, and she invites Georgie. Georgie is hesitant to go, and he and Mandy repeatedly accuse each other of acting "weird" about their relationship. After the spa trip is over, Mandy accepts Georgie's marriage proposal.
Meanwhile, while Georgie and Mandy are at the spa, Connie is watching CeeCee. Dale comes over, and Connie asks him to change the diaper, but he says that he never did that to his kids. He also says that he never bathed his kids, which prompts Connie to make him bathe and change CeeCee.

- Aesop Amnesia: Missy still doesn't learn her lesson about sneaking out after being punished, as according to Adult Sheldon "she snuck out 32 more times and got her belly button pierced."
- Once Done, Never Forgotten: When Missy asks why her parents believe Sheldon when he says she snuck out but not her when she says she didn't, George says because Sheldon is a "goody-two-shoes" and Missy stole his truck.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: In most episodes Sheldon brushes off his sister's meanness, but when she tells him she hates him, he looks genuinely hurt and just walks away without making any of his usual comments.
- Rejected Apology: When Sheldon apologizes to Missy for ratting her out, she opens the door, tells Sheldon "I hate you!" and closes it in his face.
- Tempting Fate: George assures Mary that he can handle Missy all by himself. Adult Sheldon informs the audience that she snuck out several times and had her belly button pierced wihtout him ever knowing.
- Tin Foil Hat: Invoked by George when Sheldon asks for more aluminum foil to cover his windows to get himself used to the time difference in Germany. He jokingly asks Sheldon if he's using it to make a hat.
- You Are Grounded!: Missy is grounded yet again for sneaking out, this time for the entire summer.
