- Preacher's Kid: Tonya is Pastor Jeff's niece staying over, and the first thing she does in the episode is rent an R-rated movie. She and Missy get together and plot mischief.
- Shout-Out: Tonya rents Point Break (1991), which Missy puts inside a Bambi case.
- Suspect Is Hatless: A surveillance camera next door to the laundromat reveals a truck parked there the night of the break-in, but since the footage is in black and white, they have no idea what color it is. Furthermore, as Connie points out, everyone in Texas drives a truck.
