X-Men Vol 2 #205 is Chapter Five of Thirteen in the Messiah Complex event. It was written by Mike Carey, pencilled by Chris Bachalo, inked by Tim Townswnd, colored by Brian Edgar, lettered by Corey Petit and edited by Nick Lowe. It has a cover date of January 2008.
In the aftermath of the events of the last issue, the X-men continue their assault against the Marauders but are forced to retreat as are the New X-men from the Reavers. Cable is revealed to be in possession of the newmutant baby.

- Ask a Stupid Question...: When Dupe!Madrox wonders how he can sneak into a mutant interment camp, Layla Miller tells him to just tell them he’s a mutant. He points put they wouldn’t let him out after that.Layla Miller: Easy, walk up to the gate and tell them you’re a mutant.
- Curb-Stomp Cushion: Initially the X-Men trounce the Marauders but after Sinister leads a counterattack, the X-men are demolished and forced to retreat.
- Implied Death Threat: When confronted by the X-Men, Mister Sinister admits that the death of them was low on his list of priorities, but he is ready to reconsider.
- Know When to Fold 'Em: After being ambushed by the Reavers, the New X-men decide to bail with Pixie teleporting everyone away.
- After losing the battle and realizing Sinister does not have the baby, the X-Men also retreat.
- Pervert Revenge Mode: Whenever Jake Slayton tries to peek into the girls dorm, he is telepathically given a Psychic Nosebleed by Emma Frost.
- Wham Line: After an “interrogation”, Marauder Gambit reveals to Logan who really has the baby.Logan: An X-Man took her from Cooperstown.
- You Shall Not Pass!: Storm covers her team as they fall back from their battle with the Marauders.
