Crowfeather's Trial is the eleventh Warriors Super Edition. It takes place after The Last Hope and before the start of the sixth arc with The Apprentice's Quest.

Tropes appearing in this book:

  • Agony of the Feet: While fighting with the stoats, Heathertail has some claws torn out.
  • Cone of Shame: Nightcloud is wearing one of these when her Clanmates find her in a Twoleg home. She has them remove it at the first opportunity, and is scornful of the idea that she'd be so stupid as to mess with her wound.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Crowfeather's only POV.
  • Dream Intro: The prologue takes place when Crowfeather and Leafpool are returning to their Clans in Twilight, and Crowfeather dreams of Feathertail.
  • The Exile: Crowfeather is exiled from the Clan for a quarter moon after arguing with and insulting his Clan leader.
  • Let Me at Him!: When Breezepelt learns that the stoats have evidently killed his mother, he tries to leave to attack them on his own, and it takes five cats to hold him plus his mate convincing him to wait.
  • Loophole Abuse: Crowfeather orders Hootpaw not to come with him to find Nightcloud, and not to tell their Clan leader Onestar what was going on. Hootpaw then returns with his new mentor Gorsetail, pointing out that Crowfeather told him not to tell Onestar, and that he can come along if his mentor gives permission.
  • Never Found the Body: Crowfeather believes Nightcloud is dead due to the massive amount of blood he found along with the scent of fox, and just assumes that the fox or something else carried away her body. Turns out there's a reason he didn't find it: she was still alive.
  • War Memorial: WindClan does the feline equivalent of this by making a cairn to honor those who had died in the battle against the Dark Forest, with each stone representing a specific warrior who gave up their life to save the Clans. The book begins with them adding the last stone to the pile to represent Crowfeather's mother Ashfoot.
  • Who's on First?: This happens a couple times with a cat named Yew. ("You? Like, 'hey you'?")
