Having defeated Black Bump, the Brotherhood stand now before the Enutrof Temple, whose atmosphere seems oddly familiar to Ruel, who has some nostalgic flashbacks about his ex-wife, Arpagone, and the time they met each other. While the tense atmosphere between Yugo and Amalia continues, Ruel manages to find a way to open the door, revealing a labyrinth beyond.

The four split to explore the maze, using Amalia's power over plants to keep in touch and find the correct path. However this time, the physical perils are the less of our heroes' concerns, as they have to deal with their past, present and future issues. Meanwhile, Flopin and Evangelyne take advantage of the massive crack in the Eniripsa Temple to improvise a rope and escape in the room below, the Cra Room...

Tropes:

  • Ax-Crazy: Mentioned in Ruel's flashback, where Ruel and Arpagone's first stint as a Battle Couple had the duo of them fighting the dangerous criminal known as the "compulsive chopper", a thug so infamous Arpagone believes that Ruel can't fight him alone.
  • Bedsheet Ladder: Flopin makes one to allow him and his mother to descend into the crag and down below in the Cra Room.
  • Call-Back: As noted by Yugo, the locking mechanism in front of the Enutrof's temple is identical to the one before Ruel's house. It proves harder to unlock, though.
  • The Cameo: During one of Ruel's flashbacks, we see Simone from Dofus: Kerub's Bazaar walking down the street.
  • Comedic Spanking: In a variation, Elely express pride in Amalia's plan by punching her butt. Amalia coldly tells she's taking too much liberties.
  • Darkest Hour: By the end of the episode, Yugo and Amalia's relationship is so close to end, Dally is still missing, Eva and Flopin are in unknown territory and Ruel has been kidnapped by Arpagone and Sypho has taken his place.
  • Enemy Rising Behind: The black Dhreller silently emerges from a pit behind Yugo through a lift.
  • Exact Eavesdropping: Amalia arrives just in time to hear Yugo's personal talk with Ruel, in which he talks about Amalia and how stressful it is to deal with her mood now considering all the personal anguish he's going through with at the moment. Amalia is very hurt to hear this.
  • Fartillery: The white Dhreller farts in Elely's face to escape her grapple, unsuccessfully. When she finally manages to beat him, she farts in his face as a payback.
  • Flashback: An extensive, black and white one for Ruel, showing how he met Arpagone, how they became a couple and how eventually he choose money over her.
  • Foreshadowing: The untimely talk Ruel has with Yugo, which Amalia ends up overhearing and being upset over.
  • Get a Hold of Yourself, Man!: Ruel does this at the beginning of the episode, telling Yugo and Amalia to stop their childish bickering and pointing out that they shouldn't be arguing like that when they still have to rescue Eva and Flopin.
  • Green Thumb: Amalia shows her skills with plant-based magic by growing a plant of magic cotton from a stone floor and later disabling a trapped room by summoning a protective mass of thorns.
  • Heroic BSoD: Amalia undergoes one when she hears Yugo's fears over being unable to love her back because of their different life spans and called her selfish for her previous behaviour.
  • The Maze: The Enutrof Temple consist in one confusing maze divided in four parts and containing rooms, traps, items tied to Ruel's past and two ferocious Dhreller guardians.
  • Metronomic Man Mashing: How Elely defeats the white Dhreller, having caught him by the tail.
  • Moment of Weakness: In the flashback, Ruel had a minor freak out when Arpagone confessed that she forsook treasures and money-getting to be with him, and she expects him to do the same for her. Ruel storms off, begging for time to reconsider and breaking Arpagone's heart in the process.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Judging from his general behaviour, Ruel has genuinely regretted his decision to run away from Arpagone in the past.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Played for laughs when Ruel comments that if there's anyone who has the right to throw a tantrum is Elely as her entire family is m.i.a. and possibly in danger... only to realize that the poor Ioppette, upon hearing that, is about to cry, forcing Amalia and Yugo to cheer her up.
  • Pet the Dog: Almost literally, when the black Dhreller throws a crying fit for losing his pacifier, Yugo comforts him and by the time Ruel arrives he's sitting on the Dhreller, who's peacefully sleeping.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Ultimately, Yugo and Amalia's growing problems stem from the fact that neither is willing to speak it up... nor they have the time to do so.
  • The Reveal: Not only Sypho shapeshifted into Ruel to infiltrate the Brotherhood, but Oropo himself reveals that it wasn't Arpagone the Enutrof demigoddess... it is Ruel.
  • Roar Before Beating: The black Dhreller does one as he prepares to fight Yugo seriously... and loses his pacifiers, causing him to cry in despair and ending the battle.
  • Shout-Out: Possibly to Classical Mythology; Amalia's proposed solution on how to beat the labyrinth involves using cotton threads to navigate the place and find the exit, in a similar way to how Theseus got out of the Labyrinth.
  • Swallow the Key: The white Dhreller does this before facing Elely. She makes him spit the key after winning the fight.
  • Tempting Fate: Upon finding the exit of the labyrinth without meeting obstacles, Yugo remarks that it was easy. Cue to a gigantic, mean-looking Dhreller rising from a pit behind him and he lampshading the event.
  • Thousand-Yard Stare: Amalia is stuck with one upon hearing what Yugo has to say about her.
  • Tsundere: Amalia at the beginning. When Yugo tries to talk to her to solve their previous argument, she tells him that she's not in the mood for talking... but as soon as Yugo addresses the others on the next move to make she calls him out for "giving up so soon".
  • Villainous Breakdown: The black Dhreller throws a fit and cries like a baby when his pacifiers falls into the pit through a grate.
  • The Walls Are Closing In: Amalia runs into such a trapped room inside the maze. She disables the trap with her brambles.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Arpagone calls Ruel out on abandoning her in the past, choosing money over love.
  • Wham Line: Oropo revealing that he has no intention to harm is "old friend" Ruel, but that he means to make him the next Enutrof God.
