Having defeated Poo and reunited, the Brotherhood of the Tofu use the Pandawa's Recall Potions to reach the place where Eva and Flopin are kept prisoner. Evangelyne, waking from a nightmare involving her children, awakens in a beautiful, peacefull marble hall with a bed, but things turn sour when she and her son are attacked by Toxine, who attempts on their life, but when their fate seems sealed, Lady Echo unexpectedly appears and saves their lives.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Brotherhood find themselves in a pocket dimension filled with barren rock, snow and gears, and a single huge tower in the middle. Soon enough, they step into a trap which makes them age for every step they take, as their minds are forced to relieve painful moments and ghosts from their past calling them out on their misdeeds. Then, Oropo, the mysterious leader of the Brotherhood of the Forgotten, appears before the heroes and challenge them to reach the top of his tower and test their convinctions against those of his Siblings. Will the heroes be able to survive this challenge?

Tropes:

  • Ax-Crazy: Toxine is reintroduced suddenly pushing Eva from the room's edge and gets off by threatening to make her fall from the tower for sheer sadism.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Lady Echo has shown to be polite, calm and diplomatic. When she catches Toxine as she tries to murder Eva and Flopin she furiously goes to town on her, grabbing her by the head and smashing her repeatedly against the floor before sending her away.
  • Break the Cutie: While Sadlygrove is far from perfect, seeing such a nice guy breaking down as visions of his own family and his master/estranged son Goultard calls him out for being an irresponsible father and husband is sad to watch.
  • Call-Back: Back in season 2, Ruel mentioned, unbelieved, that he almost married once. In this episode we see Arpagone, his former wife.
  • Continuity Nod: The mechanical owls outside the towers resemble the form taken by the Eliacube under Qilby's control.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: As soon as he sees Adamai again, Dally rushes in to beat him up, but unfortunately he's soundly defeated again.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: While it could be shock, notice how Amalia can't take her eyes off adult Yugo as he's trying to march towards the end of the trap.
  • Evil Counterpart: During Eva's Nightmare Sequence, she sees Elely and Flopin as the evil counterparts of Iop and Cra, with menacing glares and clad in dark, spiky armor.
  • Foreshadowing: Notice how Oropo tells Amalia that she's exempt from the aging effects of the field (but not the nightmares) so that she won't be seen losing her beauty and youth.
  • Genre Savvy: Even if they've shown to be completely superior to the heroes, Ad warns Oropo to not underestimate his opponents at all.
  • Harping on About Harpies: In this episode it's shown that Echo can not only grow wings but also turn her legs into bird-like talons, making her resemble an harpy.
  • Mind Rape: For each of the heroes, save for Elely (who's apparently too pure for Oropo's to get into her mind) are victim of one deliberately designed to deconstruct them and attack their faults:
    • Yugo is tormented by visions of Nox and Qilby mocking his efforts, blaming him for their fates and calling him a monster not unlike them.
    • Amalia is faced with visions of his father dying and his brother accusing her of being nothing more than a spoiled princess always escaping her responsibilities for selfish reasons.
    • Sadlygrove has visions of Eva, Flopin, Elely and Goultard asking him why does he even bother with them and just how many wives, sons and daughters has he left behind when he was still Iop.
    • Ruel is confronted by his ex-wife Arpagone, who condemns him for choosing money over love for her.
  • Miniature Senior Citizen: Lampshaded when Elely turns around and realizes that Dally is shrinking a he's growing old.
  • Oh, Crap!: Toxine panics when an angry Lady Echo appears in front of her and tries to run away.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The fact that Nox is angry at Yugo and blaming him for his death, while in the first series Nox never truly harbored such feelings. Though it could just be Yugo's sense of guilt talking through Nox.
  • Parental Abandonment: As Dally is the reincarnated Iop, Oropo's vision accuses him of this, pointing out the many and many wives and children he left behind due to his divine nature.
  • She's All Grown Up: Due to the time trap, the heroes grow old with each step they take forward: while this results in Dally becoming a bearded old codger and Ruel to degenerate into a shriveled, toothless waste, Elely and Yugo have it easy:
    • Elely blossoms from a little pointy-haired Ioppette into a gorgeous lady.
    • Yugo is finally seen as an adult, grown into a tall, ripped and handsome young man with blond hair. Amalia in particular is staring in awe at him.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: When Oropo tries to explain his noble goals, Elely calls him out for letting her father die at the bottom of a crag.
  • Villainous Rescue: When Eva and Flopin are about to fall to their deaths, Echo rescues them and kicks Toxine out of her room.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Oropo and Ad present the Forgotten as this, and are ready to challenge the Brotherhood in a battle of convictions as they climb the tower.
  • Wham Line: At the very end, when Ad suggests that Yugo and his friends may prove stronger than anticipated, Oropo makes a rethorical question while revealing that he's, somehow, in possession of the Eliacube.
Oropo: Do you think that they stand a chance against you, who wield the Six Eliatrope Dofus... [turns around] ... and me, who wield the Eliacube?
  • What the Hell, Hero?: The entire time trap was built by Oropo to give these to the heroes (sans Elely) to erode their convictions and destroy their morale, confident that, with their resolve broken, they won't be a challenge anymore and will only bolster the morale of his followers, as well as potentially turn Flopin and Elely, the coveted Cra and Iop gods-wannabe, to his side.
