With everyone back to the Sadida Kingdom, Yugo is once again faced with an urgent matter by his brother Adamai: the release of the Eliatrope People, through the use of the Eliacube, the artifact he's so reluctant to use. After being pressed by Adamai, Yugo tries to tap into its powers... and not only Grougal's Dofus hatches, but with the newborn Eliatrope and Dragon, a mysterious man in white robes appear: an adult Eliatrope! The man, who introduces himself as Qilby, has a tale to tell which gives the heroes hope to find the Eliatrope people.

Tropes:

  • Breather Episode: Compared to the previous episodes that opened the season, this one is devoid of action and much quieter, providing a lot of exposition that advances the plot.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: In Qilby's flashback narration, Eliatropes are mostly characterized by blue, while the Mechasm have red and black.
  • Doomed Hometown: As revealed in this episode, the Eliatropes hailed from a beautiful planet somewhere far in the Krosmos, where they lived in peace, studying the secrets of their magic and science. However, they were invaded by an alien race of living clockwork beings, the Mechasm, and were forced to flee their world on their giant ark, the Zinit.
  • Foreshadowing: Notice how Qilby seems to be startled upon seeing Yugo and Adamai...
  • The Glomp: Alibert hugs Yugo in his arms when they're finally reunited.
  • The Hero: Qilby's exposition reveals that even in his past lives, Yugo was very much an adventurer and considered with Adamai the Eliatrope's greatest.
  • Implacable Man: According to Qilby, a single Mechasm, Orgonax, and among the most powerful of his kind pursued the Eliatropes all the way to the World of Twelve, where they engaged in battle with him.
  • MacGuffin: By the end of the episode, the Brotherhood (sans Amalia) has a new quest: travel to the Crimson Claws Archipelago and recover the Dofus of Shinonome, the Dragon Sister of Qilby, so that he can help them release the Eliatrope children from their dimension.
  • Mr. Exposition: Qilby spends almost half of the episode explaining to Yugo, Adamai and the others the story of the Eliatropes and their origins, as well as the fact that he and his sister Shinonome were the rulers of the Eliatropes and were forced to flee after the attack of the Mechasm.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: King Sheran Sharm tries to hide from his daughter by taking the form of a bush... a bush still wearing his pants. Amalia isn't amused.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Quilby was around when the Eliatropes first landed in the World of Twelve, millennia ago, but since he was sealed away inside the other dimension where the Eliatrope children were he hasn't aged one bit.
  • Resurrective Immortality: As Qilby explains, there are six pairs of Eliatrope and Dragon brothers amongst their race which are bound to their Dofus and are thus immortal, able to be reborn when both of them die. Yugo and Adamai were two of such brothers, the others being Quilby and Shinonome, Chibi and Grougaloragran (who are reborn in this episode), Mina and Phaeris, Glip and Baltazhar, Nora and Efrim.
  • The Reveal: The origins of the Eliatrope race, most of their past story, what happened to the survivors and the fact that Mount Zinit is actually a giant spaceship.
  • Rewatch Bonus: Watching the episode a second times paints the entire thing in a different light.
  • Sealed Good in a Can: Before the final battle against Orgonax, the adult Eliatropes evacuated all their children in another dimension to keep them safe from harm. Qilby was sent with them forcibly by Yugo's previous incarnation despite his attempts to join the battle.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Adamai is much more rude, direct and impatient, though apparently it's just that he cannot wait to use the Eliacube to achieve something concrete about his and Yugo's race, and is annoyed at both Yugo's reluctance and the fact that both the Sadida and the Kingdom of Bonta may reclaim the Eliacube and the Dofus for themselves despite the fact that they both belong to he and Yugo.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Armand angrily protests with both Adamai and Yugo for tinkering so carelessly with the Eliacube and the Dofus.
