Recap / Twitch Plays Pokémon Randomized Platinum

Day 1 — The Sequel Begins! Viva...España?!

  • The Mob gets stuck in tutorials for about five minutes before finally progressing to the character select, where they proceed to select the male trainer and call him PP. Jokes are made about this name, but eventually it's decided that his name is Pepe, which might be a reference to Napoleon Bonaparte's brother who was made King of Spain under Napoleon's reign over Europe.
  • The Rival is given the default name of Pearl.
  • The starter chosen is Bidoof, which knows Sketch, Blaze Kick, Hyper Fang, and Peck. During the rival battle, Sketch is used to copy Acid Armor.
  • Pearl defeats PP.
  • Bidoof is nicknamed CCCw♀♀mnr♦ and is confirmed to be a Fire/Flying type with Limber. Also, moves have their powers and PP randomized as well, so Peck is actually stronger than Blaze Kick.
  • Upon leveling up, it's confirmed that stats are randomized, too. CCCw♀♀mnr♦ has horrendous Attack, Special Attack, Defense, and HP, but absolutely incredible Special Defense—a fact that is only accentuated by its Calm Nature, which is +Sp. Def/-Atk.
  • A Spinarak is captured and not nicknamed. Its moves are Recycle, Lava Plume, Roar of Time and Dragon Pulse, and it is an Ice/Dragon type with White Smoke.
  • A Shinx is captured, nicknamed ♀♀0♀♀ ::.. (First period is part of the name; second is to end the sentence.) Because of the ::. combo looking like a Braille letter turned sideways, it's decided that this Shinx is blind...and because of the four female symbols despite the biologically male gender, it's also decided that this Shinx is Transgender, and will henceforth be referred to with female pronouns. It's a Grass-type and its moves are Razor Leaf, Moonlight, Flash, and Hi Jump Kick and its ability is Speed Boost.
  • Due to Happiny's high EXP yield, defeating one on a Trainer's team allows Shinx to level up from 3 to 8 immediately. Razor Leaf is replaced with Worry Seed. One level-up later, Cross Chop is not learned.
  • Progress grinds to a halt as one lone member of the mob insists on trying to turn on battle animations. When confronted, he calls everyone who was pressing B the trolls (because they were just prolonging his attempts) and also claims that he wasn't the only one (in fact, most of the other X+A inputs were coming from known trolls). Slowly, however, PP manages to get his Pokétch. Also an Armor Fossil is found in an item ball in Jubilife City. The Mob is initially hopeful that they can revive it as soon as they get to Oreburgh, but are informed that the NPC who revives fossils won't be activated until the Explorer Kit is obtained (as aside from trading in a Pokémon holding one, this is the earliest that a Fossil could be obtained in a non-randomized game.)
  • Bidoof fails to learn Fire Blast at level 9.
  • Pearl's Burmy proves to be too tough, and PP is left to grind before being able to progress to Oreburgh City.
  • Shinx learns Absorb, replacing Moonlight.
  • On the third attempt, Pearl is defeated. During the battle, Spinarak reaches level 5 and replaces Recycle with Ice Punch. Shortly after this, Shinx reaches level 15 and fails to evolve.
  • A level 6 Skitty is captured, nicknamed 0 EEFFFFF. Pure Steel-type, ability Solid Rock, moveset Meteor Mash, Take Down, Twister, and Mirror Shot.
  • Also at Level 6, a pure Ghost-type Drifloon is captured. Moves are Shadow Force, Ice Punch, Present, and Astonish.
  • Skitty replaces Meteor Mash with Doom Desire at level 8. At Level 17, Shinx replaces Worry Seed with Aromatherapy and continues to not evolve.
  • For some reason, in addition to trainer classes being randomized all around, Gym Leaders have their names randomized, leading to Roark being identified in battle as "Dancer Kate". Oreburgh is still a Rock-type gym, but because of the randomizer, "Kate" has a Horsea and an Azumarill...and an Onix. PP beats him (her?) on the first try.
  • A Root Fossil is discovered. Shortly afterwards, Shinx replaces Hi Jump Kick with Uproar at level 21 and continues to not evolve.
  • Spinarak learns Rock Smash in place of Ice Punch, while Bidoof's Acid Armor is overwritten with Brave Bird.
  • At level 11, Drifloon's Shadow Force is replaced with Shadow Sneak. Then Shinx reaches Level 25, replaces Aromatherapy with Spore, and doesn't evolve.
  • Shinx is deposited. Predictably, a PC War breaks out. The faction that wants to leave her in the PC wins out at first, but one blackout later, everyone except Drifloon is deposited, and then Shinx is withdrawn. The "leave them there" faction wins out, and PP heads to Eterna Forest with only Drifloon and Shinx in his party.
  • Eterna Forest is a good place for power-leveling thanks to the presence of Cheryl. Drifloon is quickly caught up, replacing Astonish with Destiny Bond, but not learning Hyper Voice.
  • Drifloon, being out in the front, is getting all of the experience, and at Level 27 (the level it normally gets the Stockpile/Spit Up/Swallow combo), he tries to learn Howl, Ominous Wind, and Bind. The Mob says no to all three. One level later, he tries to evolve. The Mob says no to that, too.
  • Because of the way the evolution screen works in Gen IV, the Mob is able to confirm what Pokémon will evolve into before they actually evolve if the cancellation is done late enough. Shinx will eventually evolve into Murkrow, while Drifloon will evolve into...Drifblim, exactly the same as in a non-randomized game. Which, by extension, means that Drifblim also remained a Ghost-type. The Mob finally reaches Eterna City.
  • The entire grinding session becomes moot as Drifloon is released! The mods review the footage, feeling that there may have been a glitch and considering possibly reverting to a previous save state. Meanwhile, the first trainer in the Eterna City Gym has a Shedinja, which still has its usual ability, Wonder Guard. None of Shinx's moves can hit it, so Pepe is stalled.

Day 2—The Blackest Hour! The Ever-Changing Team!

  • The review comes in, and Drifloon will remain released. Deku confirms that the Shedinja is pure Dark-type, so Bug or Fighting moves will be needed.
  • The Explorer Kit is obtained.
  • A Level 12 Surskit is captured. Its moves are Zap Cannon, Magnet Rise, Pound and Thunderbolt. It's a pure Electric-type with Oblivious and has a Docile nature. A Skull Fossil is also found.
  • Shinx's Spore lacks its trademark perfect accuracy, so it's replaced with Cut.
  • A Slakoth is captured at level 14 and named c. Its moves are Spikes, Barrage, Mud Sport and Mud Slap and it is a Ground-type. Shortly after that, AA and '0000100, two male Zigzagoon, are also caught at level 14, knowing Dive, Doom Desire, Clamp and Muddy Water. They are Steel/Water types. Since Doom Desire ignores typings in Gen IV, Pepe is now able to challenge the Shedinja trainer.
  • The updated UI now identifies the types of enemy Pokémon. Apparently Shedinja wasn't purely a Dark-type, though its weaknesses are functionally the same as if it were. This is because the Eterna City Gym is confirmed to be a Normal-type Gym, and therefore Shedinja must have been Dark/Normal.
  • At level 29, Shinx learns Leaf Blade, replacing Absorb. She still doesn't evolve, though.
  • The leader of Eterna City Gym is named Forrest, which the Mob finds interesting because that was the name of the Lazynote  they fought at Valley Windworks.
  • Dancer Forrest is defeated on the third try, giving PP her namesake badge. He heads to the Galactic Eterna Building.
  • After a blackout, Shinx is deposited again. Surskit and Binary Zigzagoon follow her to the PC.
  • A Tentacool is captured and named GO. Bug-type, ability is Anger Point, level 11. Moves are Tickle, U-turn, Take Down, and Horn Attack.
  • 0 the Wurmple is caught at Level 10. Her ability is Shed Skin and she's a Water type. Moves are Water Pulse, Quick Attack, Hydro Cannon, and Bubble
  • 0, GO, and AA are all stored. Then 0 is retrieved and c is stored.
  • 0 is taught Cut, overwriting Water Pulse.
  • The Experience Share is obtained, and then Flaredoof is withdrawn and 0 deposited.
  • A Bronzor is captured and nicknamed !!!!!!#*;. It's a Grass/Fire type with Marvel Scale and its moves are Absorb, Aromatherapy, Synthesis, and Needle Arm.
  • A Spearow is captured, not receiving a nickname. It's a Rock/Fighting type with Limber, and its moves are Covet, Submission, Rock Polish, and Revenge.
  • Flaredoof learns Cut, replacing Brave Bird.
  • Spearow learns Rock Smash, replacing Covet. The Mob battles yet another trainer named Forrest.
  • With Rock Smash learned, PP makes his way back to Oreburgh. Lord Root's randomized form is discovered to be Gengar. Male, named 00 BB1 V2g, Water/Rock type with the Heatproof ability (so...1/8 damage from Fire-type moves?), moveset is Water Spout, Whirlpool, Rock Blast, and Stealth Rock. Lord Armor is then revived and found to be a Nidoqueen in the randomizer. She receives no nickname, and she is a Fire-type with the Anger Point ability, moveset Helping Hand, Refresh, Guillotine, and Dragon Pulse.
  • Flaredoof overwrites Hyper Fang with Air Cutter at Level 13.
  • Lazy Wayne is defeated at the Eterna Galactic Building, and PP receives an Egg from Cynthia. The improved UI shows the progress of hatching it.
  • PP gets the Bicycle, but registers the Explorer Kit to the select button instead. Parallels to the Black run only intensify.
  • Gengar learns Dive, overwriting Stealth Rock.
  • A female Ralts is captured at level 16. While two of its moves can be confirmed to be Shadow Force and Rollout, by virtue of seeing them in the battle, the others can't, because for the first time all game, the party was already full. Her name is 66RRRR N.
  • After returning to Eterna City, PP finds a Helix Fossil.
  • The Egg hatches into a male Scyther. Grass-type with the Flame Body ability and the moves Feint, Aromatherapy, Leech Seed, and Petal Dance.
  • In a battle against a trainer, the Fossil Gods nearly take down a Wartortle, but both fall to its Hydro Cannon. As a result, Scyther is able to come in on a recharge turn against a severely weakened Pokémon and use Leech Seed, taking it down and jumping from Level 1 to Level 8. He learns Absorb over Feint.
  • PP reaches Hearthome City and goes to the contest hall, where he deposits his Fossil Pokémon in the PC. A push is made to retrieve them, and they successfully retrieve Gengar, but deposit Bidoof and release Spearow in the process. G0 and c are also withdrawn. Then all that success is immediately undone and Bronzor ends up the lone member of the party.
  • The PC War rages on, with little success because the menu defaults to Deposit in Platinum so with only one Pokémon in the party, nothing at all can be accomplished most of the time. In response, the anarchy/democracy slider is implemented, though the mods say the timing was coincidental and this was always planned.
  • PP goes to Bebe's House and gets an "Eevee", which has been randomized to Sandslash. Moves are Synthesis, Magnet Bomb, Needle Arm, and Metal Sound; Grass/Steel type, male, with the Limber ability. Mob is worried that by not going to PC before obtaining it, the chances are fairly high that it will be released.
  • Bronzor receives mail, protecting it from the PC.
  • PP manages to get back to Oreburgh City and, after some difficulty, gives the Helix Fossil to the researcher. It's eventually retrieved, and it's a Fire/Psychic-type female Pidgeotto with Fire Spin, Dream Eater, Tickle and Mega Punch and the ability Keen Eye. She doesn't have a nickname, but is called "Bird Mary" to continue the theme.
  • Lord Skull is revived as a female Dragon-type Koffing with Dragon Rush, Dragon Claw, Spacial Rend and Stomp; ability Hyper Cutter, nickname is B☺^_^%♠ ☺!☀note . The chat refers to it as "Smiley" or "Laffing".

Day 3—A New Beginning! Let the Guidance of Helix Wash Over You!

  • A Horsea is added to the team at level 7, a Rock-type with the Rock Head ability and the moves Rock Slide, Refresh, Head Smash, and Rollout.
  • The team is filled out for just the second time with the addition of a level 15 female Spheal named )EE2. She's a Poison-type with the moves Cross Poison, Poison Jab, Poison Sting, and Razor Wind, and her ability is...Truant, which makes her mostly useless and Razor Wind completely useless.
  • A new Skitty is captured and sent to the PC, followed by a Shellder.
  • The mob heads to the Old Chateau to find whatever Rotom has been randomized into and potentially capture it, some wanting to replace the Truant Spheal. They reach the TV room and thump the TV...and are promptly greeted by Giratina, complete with its usual encounter music. It proceeds to demolish the remainder of PP's team, whiting him out.
  • The mob then returns to the Old Chateau, eager to catch Giratina. They manage to get a Lotad, three Swablu, a Geodude, and a Nuzleaf, but by the time they reach the TV, Giratina isn't there anymore. They then catch another Swablu and a Cleffa, and Sandslash learns Mirror Shot. The Mob is disappointed when they realize they replaced a move that outright skips accuracy checks (Magnet Bomb) with one that has just 55% accuracy. Of those captures, only Nuzleaf had a nickname (6 RH0 600).
  • Bronzor is renamed AAAAlo, A.EGFZ, and ♀ FGgfe in rapid succession.
  • One level after learning Mirror Shot, Sandslash replaces Metal Sound with Wood Hammer.
  • AR the Nincada, gg the Psyduck, and 666 ☹ ☹☹☹ the Clefairy are captured.
  • The Hearthome Gym has been randomized to Grass-types. PP reaches Dancer Leo (Fantina) with only )EE2 remaining and promptly blacks out. Due to the nonlinearity of the Hearthome Gym, he manages to suffer another loss in the Gym before even making it back to her. He then loses to her a second time before triumphing, getting a TM for Spacial Rend.
  • Lazy Pearl is battled. He has a Spheal of his own, and it actually finishes PP off on the first attempt. The second attempt narrowly goes in PP's favor, and Horsea learns Stone Edge, replacing Refresh, during the battle.
  • At the Lost Tower, PP battles a fourth trainer named Forrest. Must've been a very popular baby name in Sinnoh at one point.
  • In Solaceon Town, Spheal is deposited.
  • Sandslash does not learn Seed Bomb, but Koffing does learn Outrage, deleting Dragon Claw.
  • A Shelgon is captured, lacking a nickname, and since there's an open space in the party, he stays on the team. He's a Fighting-type with Hi Jump Kick, Vital Throw, Acupressure, and Revenge. E____O aa the Mightyena and an unnicknamed Surskit are also captured, followed 10 minutes later by a Trapinch named B.
  • Attempting to register for a Contest in Hearthome, gg the Psyduck is released and the underleveled Horsea is deposited.
  • A male Ponyta is captured, not receiving a nickname, and then a Jynx is captured and named Sr0rgg8888. The Ponyta enters the party. He's a Ground-type with Mud-Slap, Earthquake, Earth Power, and Psybeam, and his ability is Pure Power.
  • Another PC session ensues. Bronzor is protected from being deposited by its mail, but everyone else gets deposited. Pidgeotto is withdrawn again at one point, but immediately deposited.
  • After briefly leaving the PC, PP returns and manages to withdraw a single Pokémon: Moonflash the Shinx.

Day 4—The Mightiest Horse! Time to Get Mighty Stable!

  • Early on day 4, Shinx is boxed again. Bronzor's mail is removed to keep it from being protected, as it's far from the strongest member of the team.
  • Shellder is withdrawn and Bronzor is deposited. Shortly afterwards, Sandslash and Ponyta are also withdrawn. Shellder is female, and she's a Rock-type with Vital Spirit and the moves Rock Blast, Tickle, Razor Wind, and Wish.
  • The Vs. Recorder is registered to the Y button, resulting in such extreme deadlock from Y trolls that various proposals were made as to how to put an end to it permanently — though none were implemented before the Mob managed to deregister the Vs. Recorder.
  • Ponyta forgets Earthquake and learns Magnitude. He does not learn Me First.
  • After twice blacking out to Ranger Esteban, PP manages to sneak past him to advance.
  • Sandslash's Mirror Shot is replaced with Bug Buzz.
  • PP makes it to Veilstone City and receives a "Porygon", which has been randomized to Kabuto. He is named ___G____. He's a Flying-type with Chatter, Mega Punch, Fire Fang, and Pluck, and his ability is Forecast. Immediately afterwards, PP finds a Soul Dew.
  • In the Veilstone Gym, Ponyta reaches level 33 and replaces Mud Slap with Gust, which in this randomizer has a base power of 125 with 100% accuracy. Shortly after this, Dancer Lilliana wins the first match against Pepe.
  • On the second attempt, Dancer Lilliana is defeated.
  • After getting the HM for Fly, the party is filled out with the addition of a female Pachirisu named h____>.<7PL4 and a Voltorb with no nickname. Pachirisu is a Psychic-type with Clear Body and the moves Zen Headbutt, Psybeam, Cosmic Power, and Miracle Eye, while Voltorb is a Poison-type with Flame Body and the moves Crush Claw, Poison Jab, Toxic Spikes, and Sludge Bomb.
  • Two more Pachirisu are caught and sent to the PC, a male named EW O56S2 3 and a female named MMMg6QSD77.
  • A male Spheal named AA~~☹☹♦ and a female Spinda named Q———
  • After a brief trip to the Game Corner, PP goes out to catch more Pokémon, catching three Aipom, three Gulpin, a Marill, a Bulbasaur, a Weedle, and a Ledian. The requisite OLDEN references are made after the last one.
  • PP goes to the Name Rater and renames his Ponyta AAAK while Sandslash becomes R♀. Shortly before leaving, he registers the Explorer Kit to the Y button, and soon afterwards he heads underground. He manages to get a Red Sphere and narrowly misses out on a Fire Stone, and the Mob suddenly realizes that this could be a reliable source of evolutionary stones. They resolve to remain down there until they have a Water Stone. It goes about as well as you could expect.

Day 5—TPP After Dark! The Naughty Underground!

  • The day starts with multiple trips to and from the Underground with little progress made.
  • A few hours into the day, PP gets stuck in a Leaf Trap, which is rather problematic because escaping that particular trap requires blowing into the DS's microphone. The mods manually free him from the first one, but within an hour, "blow" becomes a legitimate chat command.
    • Less than an hour after that, the mods realize what a short-sighted decision this was and rename the command to blow into the microphone to "mic".
  • Giratina is encountered again. This time, it teleports away.
  • A couple hours later, the Explorer Kit is reregistered to Y, and the up-and-down shenanigans begin again. Within a few minutes, there's another restart, and the Explorer Kit, Vs. Recorder, and Pal Pad are disabled. Trying to reset will lead to a ban. Well, so much for those evolutionary stones...
  • Ponyta reaches level 37 and tries to learn Sand Attack. Eventually it is decided to not allow this.
  • Sandslash is briefly sent to the daycare, but is immediately retrieved. Ponyta manages to defeat Ranger Esteban, who had given PP such trouble previously despite only owning one Pokémon.
  • Ponyta passes level 40 and begins to attempt evolution. This is naturally not allowed, but it's unclear whether this is the usual trolling or not because even well before it reached this level, well-known members of the community were making logical cases to keep it from evolving; Ponyta's stats are surprisingly good and its ability covers one of its few weak stats, and with the randomization, there's no guarantee that it won't be wrecked by evolution.
  • Kabuto forgets Chatter for Dizzy Punch at level 26.
  • Shellder finally levels up and learns Stealth Rock at level 20, replacing Tickle. Shortly afterwards, a Leaf Stone is found, but this is of no use to the Mob at the moment.
  • Pachirisu OHKOs two of Lazy Pearl's Pokémon with Psybeam despite a double-digit level disadvantage, choosing not to learn Rest after the battle.
  • Like Oreburgh, the Pastoria Gym appears to be its non-random type, Water.
  • After losing in the Gym, PP heads to the Great Marsh. He captures a Water-type Weepinbell and names it !D5L LG6L, then an Ice/Steel-type Chimecho with no nickname. A second trip yields a Dark-type Roselia with no nickname and a Grass-type Combusken and a Steel-type Silcoon whose names are both a single space.
  • Further trips yield a Seadra (Rock-type, named J), a Pichu (Water/Ghost, another space), two Munchlax (Rock-type, names are H and ☹), three Wooper (Water-type, one without nickname and the others are _E_ and ***)), a Swalot (Bug-type, named E), a Seedot (Poison-type, named LW@♥BQ2 NM), a Minun (Ghost/Dark, named MW-"05), a Piloswine (Rock-type, named ♥) and a Purugly (Fighting-type, no nickname.)
  • After briefly leaving, PP goes into the Great Marsh yet again and catches a Corsola named A6, bzb ♂™‚a (Ice-type), a Roselia or twonote  (no nickname(s), Dark-type(s)), a Gligar (Dark/Rock, 4 or 5 spaces), and a Raticate (Rock-type, no nickname).
  • PP finally heads back to the Gym and faces off with Dancer Scarlett, though not before Sandslash learns Wood Hammer after a battle with one of the Gym Trainers. Scarlett leads off with an Omastar which has Aqua Ring and Extremespeed; it sweeps PP's team.
  • PP apparently failed to clear out all the Gym Trainers and is weakened by one on the way back to challenge Scarlett again. This trainer also has an Omastar, but it poses little threat to Sandslash.
  • Ponyta gets a crit Earth Power to take out Omastar, then takes out Scarlett's Breloom, but his Raichu takes him out with Hydro Pump, then gets a crit with Hydro Pump and follows up with Shadow Sneak to take down Sandslash for the win.
  • With the Explorer Kit now disabled, the "Mic" command is removed again.

Day 6—The Plot Heats Up! Go West Towards Adventure!

  • As before, Ponyta takes out both Omastar and Breloom, but this time, starting with full health and not getting hit with crits, Sandslash is narrowly able to withstand three Hydro Pumps and comes out on top against Raichu. PP wins his fifth badge! The TM he receives contains Recover.
  • PP chases a Galactic Grunt to Lake Valor and receives the Secretpotion from Cynthia.
  • At level 46, Ponyta loses Earth Power for Double Team and fails to evolve.
  • At level 47, Ponyta's evolution cancellation is delayed long enough to see what it would evolve into. It appears to be Kingler.
  • After a Rare Candy also fails to induce Ponyta's evolution, another Ponyta is captured.
  • In Solaceon Town, Kabuto is deposited in the PC. PP leaves without any further mucking about.
  • PP uses the Secretpotion and receives the Old Charm.
  • After a blackout, PP catches a replacement for Kabuto on the team—an Umbreon. It's a Steel-type with the Flash Fire ability and the moves Copycat, Metal Claw, Heal Order, and Mirror Shot.
  • A Poliwag and a Glameow are caught; neither have nicknames.
  • PP heads back to Hearthome City. Pachirisu is given mail, then gets leveled up numerous times, failing to learn Wrap at level 29.
  • PP finally reaches Celestic Town. Ponyta is Level 50 by this point.
  • The randomized name for Team Galactic Leader Cyrus is...Bug Catcher Pansy. Voltorb manages to take out his final Pokémon, a Kadabra, with just 4 HP left.
  • Surf is taught to Pachirisu, overwriting Psybeam. It is also discovered that Metal Bee Umbreon can learn Fly.
  • PP heads to Amity Square with Pachirisu. He can't seem to talk to her, though.
  • After about an hour, Democracy is activated for the first time this run. He successfully manages to talk to Pachirisu, then goes back into Anarchy mode.
  • On Route 208, A 00ddAANO and 0 p0d00vvq the Surskit are captured, as is 00000bd@cc the Mightyena.
  • Another Soul Dew is acquired, followed by TArl3ALQEN the Rhyhorn and 0sPK the Slakoth. Later, a Drowzee is captured.
  • PP reaches Canalave City with only Ponyta able to battle, only to run into Pearl before he can checkpoint. Naturally, Ponyta solos Pearl's team.
  • PP gets the HM for Strength and heads to Iron Island. He catches a Cherrim named ☔ and a Nosepass with no nickname.
  • Ponyta very nearly manages to evolve at Level 53, but doesn't. Shortly afterwards, he blacks out to Canalave.
  • Umbreon and Voltorb are deposited, and PP heads back to Iron Island, where he catches a Wartortle. It's a Water-type with the Stench ability and the moves Aqua Tail, Hydro Cannon, Withdraw, and Bubble; furthermore, by observing other wild Wartortle at slightly higher levels, it can be surmised that the next move it will try to learn is Bubblebeam.
  • PP blacks out again and goes to the PC. The new Wartortle is boxed, and G0 and Bird Mary are withdrawn and then deposited again. The Drowzee was also withdrawn for a moment, only to be boxed right away, and then the same happened to 0 the Wurmple. )EE2 the Truant Spheal is the next to leave the PC, and then PP actually steps away. He comes back and withdraws _E_ the Wooper as well. Her ability is Sturdy and her moves are Water Sport, Rain Dance, Whirlpool, and Clamp.
  • After a brief session of battling eventually gets PP blacked out, )EE2 is returned to the PC. He heads back to Iron Island, catches a female Nosepass with no nickname, and teams up with Riley. Nosepass is a Normal-type with the ability Forewarn and the moves Reflect, Bind, Extreme Speed, Rock Wrecker.
  • Upon reaching Level 33, Pachirisu forgets Miracle Eye and learns Magic Coat.
  • Two Cacturne are captured, one named 0 and the other with no nickname.
  • Pachirisu reaches level 37 and replaces Cosmic Power with Double Hit.

Day 7—So You Say You Want An Evolution! Well, Here You—Wait, Didn't We Use This Joke Already?!

  • Democracy is used to get Wooper to the front of the party and Nosepass to the second slot and to give Mail to both of them.
  • Shellder gains a level, followed by Wooper. Since Wooper's normal evolution level is well below what _E_ was caught at, she tries to evolve...and succeeds! Becoming none other than her regular evolution, Quagsire. Neither her typing (pure Water) nor her ability (Sturdy) change.
  • 0▯ the Dugtrio is captured, followed by ➕☺➕ ♦︎ the Clamperl. Quagsire gains more levels and Shellder gains another, and a Dome Fossil is found.
  • The Canalave Gym appears to be a Poison-type gym. The team clears out the Gym Trainers, but is easily taken out by Dancer Jo on the first try.
  • Inputs freeze after Ponyta is taken out by Jo's Glaceon on attempt two, giving the mob time to strategize. They send out Shellder to bait another Leaf Storm, but are taken off-guard when it pulls out a Leech Life to knock out Pachirisu.
  • The third attempt starts out strong, but noticing that Ponyta will level up upon beating Jo's last Pokémon, people start spamming B in anticipation, leading to others countering with A. Ponyta uses Double Team, which fails to help it evade anything, and neither it nor anything else can finish the job.
  • The fourth attempt finally goes in PP's favor, earning him the Mine Badge.
  • Democracy is used to teach Quagsire Strength (replacing Brine) and Pachi Rock Smash (replacing Growl).
  • The Dome Fossil is given to the researcher and revived to become Glameow, but with a full party, PP can't pick it up.
  • 50uVG"GRLG the Staravia is captured. She's a Rock-type.
  • 1ai00o the Luvdisc, a Bug/Fire-type, is also captured.
  • PP intentionally hangs around in Mt. Coronet in order to attempt to evolve Nosepass. Because "Night Crew" is in control, it only takes one attempt to get it right. Nosepass evolves into Magnezone! Magnezone wants to learn Return immediately upon evolving, but doesn't.
  • PP stops to play the slots for a bit in Veilstone, then continues on to Lake Valor. A Cryot breaks out at the sight of all of the Magikarp flopping about in the drained lake.
  • PP battles Lazy Wayne (Saturn), losing the first time before prevailing on the second try.
  • A Turtwig named Y is captured. It's a Grass/Bug-type.
  • A Leaf Stone is acquired, and earlier an Oval Stone, but still no Water Stone.
  • Sandslash loses Bug Buzz in favor of Flash Cannon.

Day 8—Fierce Battles! Team Galactic Must Be Stopped!

  • A Lava Cookie is discovered, followed by an Armor Fossil.
  • Two Bulbasaur are captured. The first has no nickname, but the second is called G; ♣!💤💤!.
  • A Krabby is captured and doesn't receive a nickname, and then a Togepi is named ;🙂🙂🙂♥♪;☉. After that, a Mudkip is caught and named !! vg0ccc1, and a Castform is caught and named ☉☀❢. Finally, a Gible is caught and named 😄.
  • PP goes to the daycare and deposits Quagsire and Magnezone, then withdraws Quagsire, then deposits Shellder, then withdraws both Magnezone and Shellder, then deposits and withdraws Sandslash and Pachirisu, then deposits and withdraws Quagsire and Ponyta.
  • 0*01DE2L the Ponyta is captured.
  • Two more stones are found: An Everstone and a Shiny Stone.
  • YEEEE!yehlr the Spearow is captured, and then TM47 is found to contain Judgment. TM76 is also found and it contains Brave Bird.
  • A Geodude is caught and not nicknamed, and Giratina is challenged again. It Teleports away yet again.
  • A trip to the Name Rater gives Shellder the nickname _Abc_c_'dd and Magnezone the nickname GHHdg_c''-
  • A Whismur named ...66G is captured.
  • Lazy Forrest is battled at Lake Verity and defeated.
  • ABGHIMMGGO the Charmander is captured.
  • Ponyta barely holds on at 1 HP to defeat a trainer and levels up, failing to evolve.
  • 00O(+"♦ Z the Empoleon is caught; it's a Bug/Psychic-type.
  • gp r lll the Banette and mZGYNMo pg the Buneary are caught.
  • A Helix Fossil is found in Floaroma Meadows. Democracy is then activated to remove mail from Shellder and box her. However, Anarchy activates before the Mob can deposit her, so no replacement is withdrawn.
  • A female Carnivine is captured and enters the party. She's a Dragon-type with the Steadfast ability and the moves Icy Wind, Twister, Dragon Rush, and Spacial Rend. A Bulbasaur is also captured and not nicknamed.
  • Some training is done in Wayward Cave, but not nearly the grinding session that previous partner trainers have afforded. Sandslash replaces Leaf Storm with Future Sight.
  • A Nidoran♂ is captured, named 2.
  • The rest of the day is dedicated to reaching Snowpoint City. En route, the following Pokémon are caught: A the Horsea, AAr the Hoothoot, a Hoothoot with no nickname, a Wooper with no nickname, 0 r Δ the Bidoof, a Makuhita with no nickname, a Budew with no nickname, ΔΔ@@♥😫 the Luvdisc, a Clefairy with no nickname, and a Sandshrew with no nickname. The HM for Rock Climb is also obtained en route, along with a bunch of items that are not Water Stones.
  • Carnivine is deposited in the PC at Snowpoint City.

Day 9—Galactic Battles! Wayne, Wayne, Go Away!

  • 1g▯ the Marowak is captured. It's a Dark-type with the moves Psybeam, Sharpen, Nature Power and Follow Me. An unnamed Carvanha is also captured.
  • The Marowak is deposited, and the unnamed Sandshrew is briefly withdrawn, then deposited again.
  • A the Bidoof is captured. Her moves are Flame Wheel, Sky Attack, Silver Wind and Gust and her ability is Arena Trap. Democracy is used to give her mail and put her at the front of the party.
  • A Carvanha and a Bidoof are captured; neither is nicknamed. Ponyta reaches level 59 and doesn't evolve.
  • A Drifloon is captured and named A.
  • Bidoof grows to level 33, replaces Flame Wheel with Drill Peck, and evolves into Porygon. Pure Fire-type, ability is Huge Power.
  • A Ledyba is captured and not nicknamed.
  • Democracy is invoked to give Porygon the Upgrade item. The hack used turns all trade evolutions into level-up evolutions, so Porygon will attempt to evolve on its next level-up.
  • Pachirisu reaches level 48, and then Porygon reaches level 34 and overwrites Drill Peck with Fire Punch. Then it evolves into Donphan and regains its female gender. She's still a pure Fire-type and her ability is Anger Point. She's given mail.
  • Quagsire tries to learn both Hydro Pump and Bubble at level 48; Bubble replaces Hydro Cannon. Magnezone learns Sweet Scent over Bind.
  • The Snowpoint Gym is a Psychic-type gym. The mob gets through it with surprising speed and defeats Dancer Stacey for the badge.
  • Rock Climb is taught to Sandslash, overwriting Future Sight.
  • The female Lazy Wayne is encountered at Lake Acuity, but not battled. PP heads for Veilstone City.
  • Night Crew's efficiency pulls through as PP makes it to Veilstone in under three hours. In Veilstone, PP uses Rock Climb to discover a Leaf Stone, then begins his raid on Galactic's headquarters.
  • Bug Catcher Pansy is defeated, but the battle against male Lazy Wayne turns into a repeat of the third battle against Dancer Jo as the battle over Ponyta's evolution ends up costing PP the battle. Unlike in that battle, though, the level-up came prior to the final Pokémon, so it's another level gained (61) without evolving.
  • On the second try, male Wayne is defeated.
  • The Master Ball is used on a Chingling. It's an Ice/Steel type. Democracy is used to get past the infamous ledge, but runs out before the Mob can switch their party order around.
  • A second ledge ruins their progress. Democracy activates again, the meter unexpectedly shooting up in a manner that suggested anarchy votes expiring, but they're in the bag in-battle at the moment, and by the time they can escape, they can't achieve their goals and allow anarchy to regain control.
  • An Omanyte is captured and named 00>.<. Shortly thereafter, PP blacks out to Hearthome City.
  • PP grinds his team at the Mansion south of Hearthome, then heads north to Solaceon to use the Daycare to rearrange his team in Anarchy again.
  • Finally, Democracy is used to change the party order around to the desired order, and anarchy is reengaged to go to Mt. Coronet.
  • The Mob fails repeatedly to get past the ledge in anarchy, as the millionth input of the run is recorded.

Day 10—The Great Ascent! What Legends Are Made Of!

  • PP gets past the ledge and heads upstairs. He catches a Granbull named 08 and an unnamed Kricketune.
  • A Poliwhirl is captured and named OGE.
  • PP gets to Spear Pillar, but a double battle awaits him and only Ponyta is still standing. The Mob goes into Democracy, but they have no revives and have to intentionally black out.
  • PP mixes Poffins. They are considered "foul". He gives an interview afterwards, where he says "Kabuto". The Mob isn't sure if that means they would've done better in Democracy or that they should've used Lord Dome as the mixing bowl.
  • Democracy is activated for precision boulder pushing and again for precision ledge passing.
  • PP ascends to Spear Pillar again and defeats the grunts, then teams up with Lazy Pearl to defeat Forrest and Wayne. PP enters the Distortion World.
  • After solving the puzzles of the Distortion World, he faces Pansy. Pony takes out his first three Pokémon, but falls when Magnitude misses his Porygon-Z and it Stomps him down. Sandslash is up next, and given Pansy's Fire-type specialty, it seems like he'll fall as well...but Porygon-Z turns out to have no Fire-type moves other than Sunny Day! Slash Flash Cannons repeatedly for the win! Origin Forme Giratina is up next!
  • Origin Forme Giratina knows Teleport as well! The battle ends with Giratina fleeing!
  • Cynthia tells PP to go back to Sandgem Town to talk to Rowan. He first goes and catches AMORQED ♂♀ the Corphish and KR the Linoone around the outside of Sendoff Spring.
  • PP finds the Suite Key near Seven Stars Restaurant, helping the woman get back into her suite.
  • PP tries to go to Sunyshore, but the power's still out. He heads towards Veilstone, catching an unnamed Gastly and G MD000DT the Vulpix.
  • Within an hour of leaving Veilstone, PP has made it to Sandgem, talked to Rowan, and engaged Mesprit at Lake Verity. As a roaming legendary, Mesprit won't be randomized, and it isn't. It flies off.
  • Next up is Lake Acuity. On the way, PP catches .AE the Slakoth. Uxie has been randomized, and it's...Mesprit? The mob throws a few Great Balls and uses a Fresh Water on Donphan before running.
  • Two more Bidoofs are captured; the second is nicknamed uk a mtmvw.
  • A Buizel named C B 1i d- is caught at Lake Valor, and Azelf is engaged. It's Suicune! Suicune is a Ground-type and knows Magnitude and Fissure. As with Mesprit, the Mob throws some Great Balls but ultimately runs.
  • PP arrives in Sunyshore City and talks to Flint.
  • PP heads out to Route 223 and catches a Porygon2, no nickname, then returns to Sunyshore.
  • The Sunyshore Gym is a Flying-type gym, which means it's heavy with members of the Fossil Pantheon. PP gets through the trainers without blacking out, but loses to the leader, whose name is also Jo.
  • On the second attempt, Jo's Aerodactyl (a Dark/Flying-type) takes out Donphan, Magnezone, and Pachi before falling to Quagsire's Surf. Sharpedo takes out Quagsire, but Sandslash finishes it with Flash Cannon. Ponyta is then sent in to take on Hippowdon, and it wins, leveling up to Level 64, before losing to Vaporeon. However, Sandslash is able to finish Vaporeon off for the win!
  • PP receives HM07 from Jasmine, then heads out and quickly blacks out. Using TMs, Quagsire's Bubble is replaced with Snatch, while Donphan learns Conversion, overwriting Fire Punch.
  • Democracy is engaged to try to teach Waterfall to either Magnezone or Quagsire, but anarchy returns before the Mob can successfully do so.
  • PP catches a Claydol and a Slugma without nicknames and a Wailmer called 2;c.

Day 11—Shiny Happy Grinding Sessions! The Path to the Pokémon League!

  • Democracy takes hold again in a battle with a wild Houndour. The Mob immediately tries to run, but the Houndour has Arena Trap. They still manage to get out of the battle with democracy intact and successfully replace Quagsire's Snatch with Waterfall.
  • It is officially determine that moves' classifications re: Physical/Special haven't actually been changed.
  • PP catches a Furret named 0!♦♦2n and a Heracross named ♦♥0!MWW or something like that.
  • PP catches a Trapinch, a Slakoth, and a Nuzleaf; last is called 00000Q☀️☀️00. Not captured: Rotomtina, who teleports away again.
  • Donphan learns Eruption over Gust during the grinding session that ensues.
  • Later that session, it replaces Conversion with Slam.
  • Democracy is activated in order to use TMs. Donphan learns Air Slash over Sky Attack; Pachi learns Spacial Rend over Magic Coat; Magnezone learns Super Fang, Recover, and Judgement over Sweet Scent, Rock Wrecker, and Force Palm. Anarchy reactivates right as the last of these is learnt.
  • The complete revamp of Magnezone's movepool is completed as it levels up to 46 and replaces Extremespeed with Headbutt.
  • Another Root Fossil is found.
  • An unnamed Ledyba and two Drifloon, one of which was named GE, are captured.
  • U H RSEEJ the Bidoof and 7 DOWYS the Togetic are captured.
  • The grinding session ends. On the way back to progress, A♦♦♦♦;'FL the Fearow, A!.!"-#;♥ the Riolu, and an unnamed Monferno are captured.
  • 10d20h57m: With Victory Road puzzles challenging PP, Democracy is on the verge of activation when a wild Pokémon appears. It is a Shiny Plusle, which for once is not code for "Minun". Democracy is quickly engaged to avoid blowing this opportunity. While the Mob quickly learns that touchscreen coordinates don't work in democracy, it proves to be no issue as the very first Poké Ball catches. For the first time ever, Twitch Plays Pokémon has captured a randomly appearing Shiny Pokémon. Anarchy reengages, and it's given the name ll♠♠♠Δ. (Note also that Plusle is a Pokémon whose regular/shiny variation is minimal, so those who didn't see the sparkle at the very beginning of the battle weren't sure if it was really shiny, with some people even saying that Twitch had "taken the Shiny Minun meme too far.") Plusle is a Dragon/Ice type.
  • Ponyta reaches Level 65 and doesn't evolve. Shortly afterwards, PP blacks out.

Day 12—Challenge! The Randomized Pokémon League!

  • A Nosepass is captured and not nicknamed shortly before reaching the end of Victory Road.
  • Lazy Pearl and his mono Dragon team is challenged at the Pokémon League. He wins the first time, but PP is victorious the second time.
  • PP enters the Elite Four without healing and faces the first member. Despite the "Elite Four" trainer class appearing on randomized trainers, the Elite Four still have that class. However, Aaron has been renamed to Crystal. He leads with a purely Psychic Relicanth, which quickly finishes off Quagsire, but Sandslash is able to do enough work to reveal two more members of Crystal's team, both of which are Empoleon.
  • The second run begins, and Pachirisu is able to take out most of his team. It's a largely defensive team, with Relicanth's movepool consisting of Light Screen/Amnesia/Wish/Psybeam. Crystal's full team is revealed to be two Relicanth, two Empoleon, and a Claydol; the last of these finishes off Pachi and Magnezone finishes the battle off.
  • Next up is Elite Four Esteban. She leads with an Electric/Fighting Slowking; it uses its Thunder Wave and Thundershock to take out Magnezone and nearly take out Quagsire. Her next Pokémon is the Ghost/Fighting Arcanine, confirming which of Slowking's types is her specialty.
  • Esteban's remaining team consists of Clefable (Ground/Fighting), Seaking (Fighting single-type), and Lanturn (Steel/Fighting). PP gets throughwith only Ponyta remaining.
  • Next up is Tristian, who leads off with a Weavile. It's a Fire/Flying type. He switches to a different Weavile, and Ponyta takes it out, but the first Weavile finishes off the run. Tristian's type can't be confirmed but since Ponyta is a Ground-type, the Weavile reliance suggests Fire. Run #3 likewise ends at Tristian, this time at the first Weavile as Sandslash (4x weak to Fire) is the last remaining Pokémon after Esteban, and Run #4 ends at Weavile #2. Run #5 is ended by Esteban.
  • On Run #6, Quagsire is taken out by Crystal, but Pachi survives, which means Normal-type Magnezone isn't leading off against Esteban. However, Sandslash is still the lone survivor and Tristian again manages to quickly finish PP off.
  • On Run #7, Pachi again falls to Crystal, but after the obligatory destruction of Maggie, Donphan sweeps through Esteban's team, taking a lot of damage but not falling. For the first time, PP will have more than one Pokémon going into the Tristian battle, and it's not just two but four.
  • Quagsire's in the lead position, and she sweeps through the Weaviles. Fire typing is confirmed when a mono-typed Abomasnow is the next one out; she takes that down, too. Up fourth is a Fire/Dragon Tangrowth, and one has to wonder why he didn't send it out earlier against the Water-type Quagsire since it takes neutral damage from Water. Or rather, it takes no damage at all from Water because it has Dry Skin. Quagsire is taken down, as is Ponyta. Donphan takes it out and the last Pokémon is a second Tangrowth, which takes out Donphan but Sandslash finishes the battle off. Tristian defeated!
  • Mallorie is up fourth, and he leads with an Ice/Poison Ampharos. It's a horrible matchup as Sandslash quickly takes it out. Next up is a Poison/Dragon Exeggutor, which tries to set up with Dragon Dance and gets OHKOed in response. Third is a Grass/Poison Leafeon which can only do trace amounts of damage with Smellingsalt, and his fourth Pokémon, Gorebyss (pure Poison-type), can only spam Safeguard as it apparently has no non-STAB damaging moves and is therefore completely useless against Steel-types. However, his final Pokémon is a Poison/Steel Electrode, and its Metal Bursts reflect damage back at Sandslash, who outspeeds it. Sandslash faints and Run #7 ends at Mallorie.
  • Donphan falls against Esteban on Run 8, but PP still has 3 Pokémon against Tristian. It isn't enough as his final Tangela, while lacking the Fire STABs to take out Sandslash, packs Mirror Coat.
  • On Run 10, Pachi's inevitable faint leads to Magnezone coming in and actually getting to do something, but it replaces its only Special move, Judgment, with Double Hit. Then it faints and Quagsire ends up leading off against Esteban, and the run quickly ends at Tristian again.
  • Run #11 again sees only Pachi and Maggie down entering the Tristian battle. Quagsire takes care of the Weavile but falls to Abomasnow, but Donphan gets lucky with a flinch on its Air Slash against the first Tangrowth and the second Tangrowth missing its attack and finishes the battle off without taking any further damage. As last time, Sandslash gets all the way to Mallorie's Electrode before being taken out (the process being sped along by the decision to try to use Needle Arm for Flinch hax or Rock Climb for confuse hax as Electrode has Flame Body. However, Ponyta's Magnitude finishes the job! Mallorie defeated! The Champion is up next.
  • The Champion's randomized title and name is Artisan Jasmine! Chat breaks out into VoHiYos. She leads with a Grass/Bug Torterra, which quickly finishes off the run.
  • After a couple more losses to Tristian, Run #14 makes it to Jasmine again. This time, Torterra is defeated, revealing...another Torterra. So again, no confirmation on typing. A short break is taken after yet another loss to Tristian, in which Ponyta is leveled up to 70 and fails to evolve. Attempt #16 is undertaken without healing from the grind session, so it's brief, ending at Crystal.
  • Runs 17 ends on Mallorie. Run #18 also ends at Mallorie, but is notable because it's the first run where all six of PP's Pokémon were still standing entering the battle with Esteban.
  • On Run 19, Jasmine is reached yet again. Donphan OHKOs both of her Torterra and her Ursaring, but falls to her Kangaskhan, which confirms the posited theory that she uses Bug-types. (Reasoning for the theory: Her first Torterra could only use Bug-type moves against the Grass-weak Ponyta, yet her choice for a second was another Torterra—suggesting that she doesn't actually have anything super effective against Ground.)
  • Runs 20 and 21 also make it to Jasmine, before Runs 22 and 23 take a step back and end at Mallorie again.
  • Pachi takes care of Crystal's entire team on Run 24, and the Mob flawlessly switches to Donphan at the start of the Esteban battle, allowing her to wipe out her team. All six Pokémon are still standing entering the Tristian battle.
  • Pachi's Surf takes out Tristian's first three Pokémon, and while her Spacial Rend can't OHKO Tristian's Tangrowth, she still takes them both out. All six team members standing entering the Mallorie battle.
  • Predictably, it's the end of the line for Pachi against Mallorie's lead, Ampharos. Ponyta comes in and cleans up the first three, gaining a level, but falls short against Electrode. Donphan's Eruption finishes off the Electrode, and Sandslash comes in to take care of the Gorebyss, and Ponyta doesn't evolve.
  • Quagsire is first in against Jasmine. She does admirably against Jasmine's first Torterra, but comes up short. Donphan comes in and mows everyone down with Air Slash. PP is the Champion! ...Magnezone didn't get to do anything at all on this run.
  • Ponyta levels up to 74 and evolves into Kingler! His new ability is Synchronize and he's now a Ground/Dragon type. His HP and Special Defense have gone up appreciably and his Attack is roughly even with what it effectively was as a Pure Power Ponyta, but his Special Attack takes a marked downturn and his Speed and Defense fall ever so slightly.
  • Democracy is invoked to deposit Magnezone and withdraw Shinx. The Exp. Share is given to Shinx.
  • Upon its first level-up, Shinx does not evolve, but Democracy is invoked in time for it to reach level 32, allowing it to evolve into Murkrow. It's a pure Grass-type and its ability is Normalize, vindicating all of those who wanted to keep Shinx cute back when it was in the party. However, at some point after depositing it, a Dusk Stone was acquired. (Signs point to Day 5 as it was a little bit above the Leaf Stones in the bag and there were indeed precisely 3 of those, each of which was properly catalogued here. Upon investigating the live updater log, there is indeed a period on day 5 where the live updater goes dark for 46 minutes, and it's just over halfway through the "day" so Night Crew would've been on duty, explaining why no one on Day Crew seemed to know exactly when it was acquired, only that it was.) Democracy is used to evolve Murkrow, and it becomes a Blaziken! The chat immediately expresses their anger over their work being All for Nothing by spamming OneHand. Anarchy returns to finish bringing PP to Pal Park. Democracy is then reengaged...so that the Mob can release Blaziken. They don't even bother retrieving the EXP. Share first. Also, K the Lumineon was captured while grinding Shinx to become Murkrow.
  • A Steel-type Skitty with the Solid Rock ability is withdrawn and given a Moon Stone. It evolves to Spoink, gains the Illuminate ability while remaining a Steel monotype, and replaces Doom Desire with Uproar. The Mob decides that level-up evolutions are too much of a hassle and puts it back in the PC.
  • A Poison-type Nuzleaf with Liquid Ooze is withdrawn and given a Leaf Stone. It becomes a Politoed with Speed Boost, remaining a pure Poison-type.
  • A Water-type Weepinbell is withdrawn and given a Leaf Stone. It evolves into its regular evolved form, Victreebel.
  • A Psychic-type Togetic with the Hyper Cutter ability is withdrawn and given a Shiny Stone. It, too, keeps its regular evolution, its type, and its ability.
  • A Steel-type Vulpix with Pressure is withdrawn and given a Fire Stone. It gains the Electric typing and the ability Flame Body upon its evolution into Floatzel.
  • ll♠♠♠Δ the Shiny Plusle is withdrawn and given mail. His ability is Unaware and his moves are Outrage, Dragonbreath, Sludge, and Draco Meteor. All four moves have BP of 110 or better.
  • Because he has a BP 130 Dragonbreath with 100% accuracy and 40 PP, Draco Meteor is considered a waste of a move slot, and Democracy is maintained in order to teach Plusle how to Fly. Fly is used to go to Eterna City to talk to Professor Oak, then to Canalave to do the Lunar Wing quest.
  • 0D U0RU00U the Phanpy is captured, followed by a Luvdisc with no nickname.

Day 13—The Postgame Begins! Welcome to the Battle Frontier!

  • Giratina is challenged yet again in the Old Chateau. PP leads with Quagsire, who is already severely injured and burned. Giratina has a super-effective move for her, so PP gets stuck in the "send out next Pokémon" menu and ultimately ends up attacking once Donphan is sent out, defeating Giratina.
  • CPO p the Kricketot and an unnamed Snorunt are captured. The non-roaming Mesprit is challenged at Lake Acuity, and PP runs away again.
  • PP sails to the Battle Frontier and engages in a double battle with Dancer Jo and Elite Four Tristian alongside Lazy Pearl, who lives up to his name by being nearly useless. PP wins anyway.
  • PP enters the Battle Frontier and heads to the Battle Factory, where rental Pokémon are required. The Mob is worried that this process will take a long time, having briefly experienced this in Emerald's Battle Frontier when they returned to the Emerald run after Anniversary Crystal, but their fears prove groundless. Unfortunately, that's because things are even worse this time. For some unknown reason, the rental Pokémon selection screen triggers the appearance of the evolution meter (implemented late on Day 6 to make it tougher to cancel evolutions by requiring a certain number of B presses in a certain period of time before the cancellation command will actually go through), and as such, anarchy outright locks up, giving the Mob no choice but to activate democracy to proceed. They select a Budew, an Eevee, and a Castform.
  • The rentals' movepools seem unrandomized, possibly because they're just fixed rather than being based on the randomized level-up movesets, but the abilities are still random as Eevee has Speed Boost and Castform fails to change forms when it summons weather. PP wins four battles before losing, and leaves the Battle Factory.
  • 611 the Lairon is captured, and Kingler's mail is removed.
  • GMGGWED the Swellow is captured. PP then blacks out back to the Fight Area and obtains a Super Rod. He registers the Old Rod to Y.
  • A Soul Dew is acquired en route to the Survival Area.
  • Kingler's mail is replaced.
  • 00kmmn mux the Hoppip and OM E UG MN the Quilava are captured. PP then finds himself stymied by the bike ramp puzzles on Route 227, eventually leaving by the Mob going into Democracy and having Plusle fly them back to the Fight Area.
  • A Skarmory and a Houndour are captured; the Houndour is confirmed unnamed while the Skarmory may or may not have a nickname.
  • A Venusaur and a Butterfree are captured. They don't have nicknames, either.
  • Plusle wants to learn Thunder Wave and is denied.
  • An evolutionary stone is acquired! It's a...Dawn Stone. As PP has no Kirlia and his only Snorunt is male, this doesn't unlock any new evolution possibilities.
  • The Old Rod is used, and it reels in Igglybuff. PP catches two, failing to nickname either, then blacks out.
  • Democracy is activated, then deactivated when fishing proves impossible in Democracy. The Super Rod is used, and PP catches a Cascoon. It doesn't receive a nickname.
  • Some trainers are battled, and a TM for Copycat is found.
  • PP flies to Hearthome and heads to Mt. Coronet. A Mystic Water is found, and then a Skull Fossil.
  • Plusle reaches Level 51 and forgets Sludge to learn Dragon Dance. EEoHHPZV the Azumarill is captured, and the Mob discovers where to find one of the few remaining unclaimed fossils when a wild Pupitar uses Fling and ends up throwing a Claw Fossil at their Pokémon.
  • PP enters a room with two item balls...and manages to claim a hidden item before either of the ones out in the open. It's a King's Rock. The two out in the open are a Water Stone and a Nugget.
  • 0000iZLWSB the Dragonair and OQCVEEHDT♀ the (male) Cubone are captured.
  • Plusle is deposited in the Daycare and Shellder is withdrawn. The Water Stone is used and it becomes a Rock/Flying Hippowdon with Storm Drain. Hippowdon is then deposited in the Daycare and Plusle retrieved.
  • A00 u?w the Nidorino, an unnamed Hippopotas, and M M M M the Nidorina are captured in Solaceon Ruins.
  • E the Exeggcute, 0000!_ the Treecko, __efz the Ponyta, and a nameless Raichu are obtained. Also a Delibird, a Cacnea, a Meowth, a Beedrill, and a Linoone.
  • A Bastiodon is captured, followed by 00ZZemen the Camerupt and 000 ND NNu the Altaria.
  • Democracy is engaged to make sure that PP doesn't run before catching a Chatot, which has a fairly low catch rate. It's then named REVO♥♥♥♥♥♥ just as Revo comes onto the chat. The stream briefly goes down, and the Mob jokes that Revo hacked the Chatot out.
  • A Snorlax named d is captured.
  • Giratina is challenged at Turnback Cave. Not surprisingly, it Teleports away again. PP enters the Distortion World in search of the Griesous Orb or whatever it might be randomized to. (It turns out not to be randomized because it's in the Distortion World.)

Day 14—Random Legendaries! The Postgame Continues!

  • Upon exiting Turnback Cave, PP catches a Buizel, then challenges Suicune at Lake Valor. He immediately runs away. Zapdos is also encountered at some point and ignored.
  • PP flies to the Survival Area. Egeamem the Haunter and k___gggw the Noctowl are captured, followed by an unnamed Paras. The devs confirmed that the brief outage, which is usually a sign of an update, was in fact to remove collision on the rocks near the ramp puzzles, thereby allowing the mob to pass through the area unhindered.
  • ___kkk;(😄 the Seel and 9hep the Vigoroth are acquired, as is a Shiny Stone. There's a Roselia in the PC that this could be used on, but the Mob seems unconcerned.
  • PP teams up with Buck. During their time together, an unnamed Hitmontop and eeae the Krabby are captured.
  • Charon is apprehended by Looker.
  • PP heads back in after being warped out of the cave, but soon leaves. He catches VVVV the Normal/Rock-type Seviper, an unnamed Flying-type Vaporeon, o🙂" the Ghost/Bug-type Solrock, and an unnamed Shuppet.
  • Lazy Pearl is challenged at the Survival Area and defeated. Inside the Battleground cafe, Dancer Leo is defeated in a rematch, but with the team already hurt from the Pearl and Leo battles, Dancer Jo (Volkner) defeats PP.
  • The next attempt at Dancer Jo is successful, but then Dancer Kate takes PP out again. He challenges Kate with a full-strength team and wins.
  • AA the Quilava is captured.
  • Nothing noteworthy happens between the entrance to Stark Mountain and Heatran's room. Heatran has been randomized to Regice, the absolute last thing you'd expect to find in a volcano. PP catches it and names it 000044Qg 5.
  • 555vme5MGG the Froslass, 0006 the Miltank, No0op61 the...something, 7 77777 the Kecleon, WZd the Kecleon, and E o ♀♂♀ the Golbat are captured.
  • Democracy is used to go to the move relearner and teach Kingler Dragonbreath (over Double Team) and Pachi Psybeam (over Spacial Rend).
  • PP talks to a delivery man at a Poké Mart and receives a Member Card and Oak's Letter. A Grumpig is captured and named ep6. Also, the Adamant and Lustrous Orbs were given to PP by direct dev intervention.
  • Darkrai has been randomized to Zapdos! It's an Ice-type with a full set of ice-type moves, Ice Shard/Powder Snow/Ice Punch/Hail. PP tries to catch it, but eventually runs.
  • AGGD)😫😫😫:😫 the Zangoose is captured.
  • Democracy is used to fly to the Pokémon League. Rematch Elite Four begin! Crystal's first Pokémon is a level 65 Staraptor. It's followed by two Pidgeot, a Relicanth, and a Togekiss. Rematch Crystal defeated on the first try!
  • Esteban's new team consists of Seaking, Magmar, Skarmory, Milotic, and Shuckle. PP narrowly escapes with a victory.
  • Tristian leads off with a Pidgeot, which KOs Plusle to finish off the run.
  • PP leaves the League and catches a Nosepass named A55 666666 in Victory Road.
  • Still in Victory Road, 00EEMD and APFQGGGG the Tauros are captured. They're Dragon-types, so the Mob collectively refers to them as Goku.
  • cd6g6ene6 the Nosepass, NWk”“ the Flaafy, an unnamed Nosepass, and 0k0k0 the Flaafy are captured.
  • Two Torkoal are captured; the second is called 0c.
  • PP joins up with Marley. While teamed up with her, he catches C the Cloyster and G the Electrode.
  • PP continues exploring Victory Road after delivering Marley to the far side, since he can't surf with her in tow. APZ ppz0e the Dunsparce is captured, and PP eventually blacks out.
  • Democracy optimization time. Pachi and Sandslash are switched in the party, and Quagsire's Strength and Surf switch positions so the latter will be in the same position as Pachi's. Then anarchy returns and PP heads back through Victory Road and Route 224.

Day 15—The Beautiful, Random World! Events and Elite Four!

  • PP reunites with Marley at the end of Route 224. He then talks to Oak and thanks A , ZPVEEE, bringing about the Flower Path.
  • Shaymin is randomized to Rayquaza. It's discovered that the event legendaries respawn immediately, unlike other legendaries, so after running, the Mob battles Rayquaza again. And again, and again...Rayquaza has Endure, which means there's a chance that, when attacked, it will survive at 1 HP—perfect. However, they still fail many times.
  • Finally, on the 27th attempt, Rayquaza is captured. Its name is 0000000000, a result of the touchscreen coordinates spammed to use Poké Balls mapping to 0 on the naming screen.
  • PP blacks out to the Pokémon League and begins the Elite 4 rematch challenge in earnest.
  • Attempt #2 ends at Tristian, same as Attempt #1. Tristian's team beyond the Pidgeot is still unknown.
  • Attempt #3 is marginally more successful as PP is able to KO his Pidgeot and a Donphan, losing to a second Donphan.
  • Attempt #4 gets a little further: this time both Donphan are knocked out. Tristian's fourth Pokémon is a Porygon2, and it ends the battle.
  • The slow progress continues as run #5 forces Tristian to his final Pokémon, an Altaria.
  • The next two runs are a step back as PP doesn't get as deep into Tristian's lineup, but run #8 sees a victory over Tristian.
  • Mallorie leads off with a Banette, then follows it up with an Electrode, which takes out Kingler. Donphan cleans up, taking it out along with Mallorie's Leafeon and two Gorebyss. Rematch Mallorie defeated on the first try!
  • Artisan Jasmine leads off with a Lapras. Donphan nearly OHKOs it with Eruption. Jasmine heals the Lapras, but Donphan outspeeds and 2-shots with Air Slash. She then one-shots Ursaring, Tentacruel, Absol, and Torterra, though the last manages to outspeed and paralyze Donphan. Aggron is Jasmine's final Pokémon, and Donphan can't oneshot it and goes down to a pair of Bug Bites. Plusle is PP's last remaining Pokémon.
  • Aggron outspeeds Plusle and uses Bug Bite, which Plusle survives with 35 HP. Plusle responds with Dragon Dance. However, one of the stats that Dragon Dance raises is Speed. Plusle outspeeds Aggron and uses Fly! Artisan Jasmine defeated! PP defeats the rematch Elite Four on just the eighth attempt!
  • PP runs into the roaming Moltres, who runs away. PP had no balls to use on it anyway.
  • PP buys Ultra Balls and heads to the Survival Area, where he engages in more rematches. He takes out Dancer Lilliana, then battles Lazy Daniel which was apparently Marley's randomized name. Her Ice-type team is too much for PP, who blacks out after getting his Pokémon frozen. The second battle goes in PP's favor. Up next is Dancer Leo, who is defeated in one try, and then Dancer Jo (Volkner), who likewise fails to win.
  • PP heads to the top of Mt. Coronet, only to find that the Dialga/Palkia event still hasn't been activated.
  • A Totodile is captured and not nicknamed.
  • A Beautifly is captured and named fuuvvua.
  • PP flies to Celestic Town to activate the event. The Mob then sells off all of his TMs and other unimportant items and buys more Great Balls.
  • PP enters Pachi in Contests, getting last place twice.
  • PP returns to Newmoon Island and after a few tries manages to capture Zapdos, no nickname.
  • ..G0 0 the Zangoose is captured.
  • Another attempt is made at catching Suicune, but the mob runs again.
  • The roaming Zapdos is encountered; it runs. A Lileep is captured and named mgkklkee,.
  • Plusle is deposited in the PC and a Kecleon is accidentally withdrawn because the Mob switched options without realizing it so that L had the function of the A button rather than switching boxes. They deposit it and withdraw a Roselia, using a Shiny Stone on it. It becomes a Typhlosion. Plusle is then retrieved from the PC and given mail.
  • PP returns to Mt. Coronet.

Day 16—Face to Face with a God! The Grand Finale!

  • During the climb of Mt. Coronet, two Finneon are captured. The first is named 0♀ ♀☀!♀, while the second receives no nickname. _0☀ the Growlithe is also captured.
  • PP arrives at Spear Pillar. Dialga has been randomized to Mew. The Mob runs.
  • Palkia has been randomized to Jirachi. The Mob manages to stay in battle a bit longer this time, but ultimately runs yet again. Since Dialga and Palkia won't respawn until the Elite Four is beaten again, this will have to suffice. However, there's no way to avoid needing to talk to a delivery man again to trigger the Arceus event, so it's back down the mountain, then one more climb.
  • 000-"?"🙂_" the Grovyle, GO _☀"O!@! the Wailord, and 00 the Tangela are captured.
  • PP talks to the delivery man, then sells off just about everything that isn't a type of Poké Ball and buys 100 Dusk Balls.
  • An unnamed Kricketune is captured on the return trip to Spear Pillar.
  • PP enters the Hall of Origin and engages Arceus. The run of earlier-generation event legendaries continues! Vs. Celebi!
  • It's a return to RAS! Celebi is captured in just the second Dusk Ball! And with that, the game is saved. Randomized Platinum is completed.
