Arc 19 | Return to the main Tower of God recap page. | Arc 21

25F - Completing Fences

    Season 2: Ch. 23 (Chapter 102)

At a cafe of the 25th Floor, Khun meets with a speedster Scout Regular known as Edin Dan, who thinks that Khun's hiring him to catch silver fish. However, Dan loses interest when it turns out that Khun's trying to recruit him for a new Tower team he's creating. Khun points out that Dan has proven himself to be so quick that he doesn't even get caught on Lighthouse footage, but Dan remains disinterested since he's suffering from 20th Floor Disorder (a disorder that occurs when Regulars that bypass the 20th Floor have grown sick of watching people die. Thus, they grow tired of climbing the Tower, and are satisfied with being just E-Rank Regular status). In return, Khun baits Dan with a piece of valuable Suspendium float rock. Khun explains that in order to win the Suspendium, Dan would need to escape the cafe where everyone around might be Khun's allies that he hired, but if Dan doesn't, he has to join Khun's team.

Knowing how valuable the Suspendium is, Dan gladly accepts the bet. The game starts, and Dan escapes to the hallway, but Khun had already blocked off the path with a wall. Khun catches up, and attempts to ask him to join his team once more, but Dan shows off his amazing speed to escape Khun, and returns to the cafe's main dining room. Figuring that he's won, Dan states to the cashier that Khun will be paying for his meal. However, Dan fails to realize that the cashier is working for Khun, and gets shot by a tranquilizer, which causes Dan to fall asleep. With Dan successfully kidnapped, Khun returns with the Scout Regular at hand to his lodge somewhere on the 25th Floor. Here, Khun meets with Rachel, the person he's making a new team for to inform her how his last trip went.

    Season 2: Ch. 24 (Chapter 103)

While Khun's meeting with Rachel, Dan eventually wakes up in the lodge. He's greeted by Nobic, a Spear-Bearer Regular in Khun's team. Dan can tell right away from a handshake that Nobic's strong, and asks the latter if he knows why Khun is climbing the Tower in such an odd way that required kidnapping another Regular. In return, Nobic tells Dan of the current situation that Khun is in with a girl that can't walk, and is trying to get her up the Tower. Meanwhile in Rachel's room, Khun gives Rachel a comforting hug after she tells him that she's been having bad dreams about Bam for the past six years ever since he sunk into the 2nd Floor lake.

After Dan comes to understand Khun's predicament, Nobic leads the former to a location outside the lodge where Dan meets the rest of Khun's new team: Apple the Light-Bearer and Scout, Michael the team-doctor and Wave Controller, Gyetang the Spear-Bearer, and Ran the Fisherman. Dan hears that Gyetang only joined to see Princess Endorsi, which shocks Dan when he realizes that Khun is from the same 2nd Floor graduate group as Endorsi, Anaak and Hatz, who've all gained reputations as powerful newcomers to the Tower. Now that the team has all gathered, Nobic announces that it's time to have their ranking match to determine who's the strongest.

Back in Rachel's room, Khun wraps up comforting Rachel. He asks her to tell him any other problems she may come across, and leaves her alone again. Now alone, Rachel uses the moment when no one's watching to get up, and stretch out her legs since she's had to keep up her charade of being paralyzed from the waist down. Happy that a team is ready to help her climb the Tower again, Rachel says to herself that she hopes to see the star soon.

After his meeting with Rachel, Khun uses his Pocket to get in contact with Shibisu. The latter of which is on a higher Floor climbing the Tower with their original 2nd Floor graduation group. Khun informs Shibisu that his new team is ready to climb the Tower, which Shibisu asks how the situation is on his end. In return, Khun admits that, having already caught on to Rachel's betrayal, he still finds it unbelievable that Rachel's been lying to them. Khun's Lighthouse is seen spying on Rachel from outside her room's window; showing that Khun has known this whole time that she's not paralyzed.

    Season 2: Ch. 25 (Chapter 104)

Flashing back to six years ago on the Floor of Tests, Khun is seen with Shibisu in the locker room after they've completed the Submerged Fish Hunt test. Shibisu's shocked to hear from Khun that Rachel lied to them, which Khun explains how he heard it from Lero-Ro. That Lero-Ro checked up on Rachel shortly after her leg got injured in the Hide-and-Seek test, which the Ranker found nothing wrong other than it being just a shallow cut that wouldn't impede her movements.

Realizing that they had been betrayed, Khun could only guess that Rachel is up to no good, and that she's probably in league with Test Director Yu Hansung regarding what happened to Bam. As a result, Khun comes up with a plan for Shibisu to keep quiet about this between just the two of them, and asks for Shibisu to continue climbing the Tower with the rest of the 2nd Floor graduation team that Bam fought to protect. Khun states that when the time comes, he will break away from Shibisu's group with Rachel in order to form a new team that will keep a watchful eye on her since she's the only clue they have regarding Bam's killers that are supporting Rachel from the shadows.

In the present, the ranking match amongst the six Regulars in Khun's team goes down as Dan stands ready to show off what he can do. However, Michael, Gyetang, and Apple quickly surrender, much to Dan's confusion as he gets instantly destroyed by Nobic. What's left is the match of the strongest between Nobic and Ran. As Dan watches, he learns from his new teammates that Ran is actually one of the top-5 strongest E-rank Regulars that has defeated Nobic many times before, which Nobic just uses the new team member ranking matches as an excuse to fight Ran again. In the end, Ran comes out the victor in the duel yet again as the strongest of Khun's team followed by Nobic (#2), Gyetang (#3), Apple (#4), Michael (#5) and Dan (#6).

Khun's six teammates return to the lodge, and are informed by him that the team is now ready to take the 25th Floor test to start climbing the Tower again. Khun then reminds the team that his goal remains the same to take over for Khun Eduan as the head of the Great Khun Family, and will grant the team any wish once he accomplishes it. He also asks that they do one thing for him in return by helping Rachel climb the Tower. However, he states that they should only pretend to be her friend, and come hate her to the point of not rescuing her if she cries wolf, because she is the one who killed his best friend. He then closes his eyes while thinking about Bam; apologizing to him for how cruel he has to treat Rachel. Meanwhile, Rachel is seen looking out her room's window, and breaks out into a manic laughter.

Long Summary

    Recruiting Dan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_01.jpg
Khun attempts to recruit the speedster, Edin Dan, into the new team he's making

On the 25th Floor of the Tower, Khun is seen waiting at a restaurant table for someone. However, having already finished his drink, Khun begins to get impatient that the person hasn't shown up yet. Eventually, the person shows up, and apologizes to Khun for being late. Sticking out his hand to greet Khun, the scout Regular introduces himself as Edin Dan.

Khun orders another drink as Dan begins his chat with Khun. Dan mentions how he knows that Khun is looking for folk who can catch Silver Fish, which are difficult to catch at this time of the year since it's not spawning season for them. However, Dan points out that Khun found the right person since he's the only one in the area that knows how to catch one.

He offers Khun his service for 2000 points, which Khun admits to not be a bad deal, but instead asks Dan how many more points it will take to recruit Dan for his team, which confuses the scout Regular. After thinking it over, Dan looks down in disappointment realizing that this is a recruitment attempt rather than a business deal. Dan gets up, and states to Khun that he's not ready to climb the Tower again.

Khun baits Dan to play a game with him for a valuable float rock

Before leaving however, Khun introduces himself as the Great Family member, Khun Aguero Agnis, which irritates Dan that Khun ignored his last statement. Khun continues by going over the scout known as Edin Dan. How he's a speedster that has never been caught on camera by an enemy lighthouse, and has been sought out by many Regulars attempting to form a team with him. However, for some odd reason, Dan has refused all of them, and only lives out his life on the 25th Floor as a hunter.

Dan retakes his seat as Khun asks why the scout Regular no longer wants to climb the Tower. Dan mentions that it's none of Khun's business to probe his life, which Khun replies that it is since he's creating a team to climb the Tower. In return, Dan answers that he's just sick of watching the Regulars he's with get killed. Khun answers back that he finds that to be a lame answer since it's a clear case of 20th Floor Disorder (Regulars who give up climbing the Tower after becoming an E-Rank by passing the 20th Floor), which annoys Dan upon hearing that.

Still wanting Dan for his team, Khun asks that the only fair option is to make a bet between the two of them, which irritates Dan even further that Khun is forcing his decision on him. Khun states that the two of them will play a game. If Dan can escape the cafe without getting caught, he will win, and Khun will leave him alone. But if Khun catches him, than he will win, and Dan has to join his team. Dan asks why he should play along with this game, which causes Khun to reveal a blue rock on the table that Dan recognizes to be a valuable floating stone, and a large one at that.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_04.jpg
Khun explains that Dan will win the game, and the float rock, if he escapes the cafe

Khun asks if he's now in, which Dan excitedly announces that he is. Dan thinks to himself how much of a moron Khun is for believing that he can outdo him at speed as Khun explains the rules. Through any means necessary, Dan must escape the cafe by avoiding everyone within it. The revelation confuses Dan, which Khun answers that before Dan arrived, he hired everyone in the cafe to play in the game as well.

He informs Dan of his plan that even if he's known as a speedster scout, it would still be troublesome for Dan if everyone is after him. Dan refuses to believe it claiming the plan to be a bluff, and asks how he could possibly afford to hire all of them. However, Khun orders for Dan to test it if the scout Regular doesn't believe him. But warns Dan that they're all strong Regulars, and points out that he would prefer to not have a corpse as a new teammate.

Khun asks for Dan to give up, and asks once more for the scout Regular to join his team, which leaves Dan irritated. Dan then looks around, and notices that the exit is actually very close by. In his mind, he admits that Khun planned this all out really well, but announces to Khun that he made one huge mistake, and throws the tablecloth over the Great Family member. Khun is shown to be surprised by the action as Dan quickly grabs the float rock, and runs out the exit door. Looking at the exit, Khun sees that Dan has already disappeared into the cafe hallway.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_05.jpg
Dan shows off his speed by instantly running passed Khun

Running through the hallway outside the dining room of the cafe, Dan gives off a smile, and thinks over how stupid Khun is for setting up their table right next to the exit. However, Dan stalls to a complete halt when he sees that the hallway before him has been blocked off by a wall that wasn't there previously. Khun then appears behind him to point out that the scout Regular is now trapped, and calls Dan a moron for not realizing that leading him into the blocked hallway was such an obvious trap. Khun reveals that he didn't actually hire anyone in the cafe, which annoys Dan knowing that he completely fell for the trick.

Dan asks if Khun had lied to him, which Khun answers with a question of his own as to why Dan would trust him, and orders for the scout Regular to give up. Dan gives off a laugh, and asks Khun if the Great Family member truly believes that he won by trapping him in this hallway. Khun points out that he's actually quite fast to keep up with Dan, but Dan announces that he's still a lot faster.

To Khun's surprise, Dan instantly bypasses Khun to go back for the entrance into the cafe's dining room. Dan looks back at Khun, and yells toward the Great Family member that while his hallway block was a nice plan, he underestimated Dan's speed. Taunting Khun, Dan shows off the float rock to Khun once more, who admits that Dan is indeed a fast Regular. Reentering the cafe dining room, Dan begins to whistle in victory at how cocky and stupid Khun is turning out to be. He runs up to the cafe cashier to pay for his meal, and states that the blue-haired guy will pay for it.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_06.jpg
Dan gets hit by a tranquilizer

However, as Dan turns around to walk away, the cashier pulls out a tranquilizer gun, and shoots it into Dan's neck. The green substance in the dart begins to enter Dan's body as he falls to the ground unable to move. Dan is left on the ground unable to make sense of what just happened as Khun appears behind him. He explains to Dan that he got hit by a strong anesthetic, and states that Dan will fall asleep very soon. Dan yells back at Khun how he claimed that he didn't actually hire anyone here, but all Khun does is pick up the float rock that Dan left on the ground. Giving off a laugh, Khun questions once more why the scout Regular trusted his word.

Switching to a lodge somewhere on the 25th Floor, Khun gets off a transport vehicle known as a Seal Taxi, and pays the driver before entering. A red-eyed Regular with a black-shirt and green-collar is seen standing by as Khun enters the lodge. The Regular greets Khun, which the latter finds it boring that nothing new seems to be happening around here. Khun then pulls out his lighthouse as the sleeping Dan is seen dropping out of it.

    Khun's Team for Rachel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_07.jpg
Having captured Dan, Khun returns to his 25th Floor lodge

The red-eyed Regular asks who this is, which Khun answers to be a Regular he had to be a bit rough with, and asks for the former to teach Dan a lesson the moment he wakes up. Moments later, the red-eyed Regular is seen carrying the unconscious Dan to another room as he mentions how Khun kidnapped yet another Regular. Khun then walks to another room in the lodge, and knocks on the door. He asks Rachel if he can enter, which causes her to react asking him to wait. Moments later, she asks for Khun to come in. Khun enters the room as Rachel is seen lying on her bed under covers, and asks how his trip went.

In another room of the lodge, Dan finally wakes up only to be greeted by the red-eyed Regular in the black-and-green shirt. Confused by the sight, Dan asks who this Regular is as the latter introduces himself as Nobic, a spear-bearer in Khun's team.

Dan is left annoyed at the thought that he's with someone from Khun's team, which Nobic answers that Dan's been brought to the team's lodge after he had been tranquilized. Dan facepalms in disappointment that he fell for Khun's floating stone bait, and now has to climb the Tower with the man that swindled him, which Nobic finds amusing that Dan has now finally given up.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_08.jpg
Nobic explains Khun's situation to Dan

Walking up to Dan, Nobic introduces himself again, and welcomes Dan to their team. He mentions that hurling is his specialty as Dan goes along with it. Shaking Nobic's hand, Dan introduces himself as well, and that he's a scout speedster, which Nobic admits that he's already heard a lot about him. Feeling the strength in his hand, Dan admits that the spear-bearer he's looking at is indeed a strong Regular. Nobic next states that the other members of the team are waiting outside, and that he will introduce them to him. However, he warns Dan that the group he's about to meet are all dangerous, and tells Dan not to show off his true strengths to them here.

Dan continues to remain silent as Nobic asks if he has any questions. Dan admits to himself that he has many, but only asks why Khun is so desperate to climb the Tower by forcing people to join his group. Nobic answers that it's because there's a girl in the lodge that can't use her legs, and that it's his goal to help her reach the top of the Tower. Dan finds it surprising that Khun probably has a romantic side to him, but Nobic answers that he shouldn't make jokes like that around him, or else he could end up missing a finger.

Back to Rachel's room, she mentions to Khun how she saw Bam in her dream again last night. Rachel explains that he was trapped in a deep darkness begging for her to save him, and mentions how she's now been feeling like Bam could possibly still be alive, which causes Khun to feel sorry for her.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_09.jpg
Khun comforts Rachel after hearing about her bad dreams

Beginning to tear up, she continues by stating that it's been six years now, but still can't forget his attempt to save her from the Bull, and was forced to watch him fade away with the creature into the watery abyss. Khun wipes away her tears, and reassures her that Bam died to save her, and wouldn't want to see Rachel crying. He then gives her a hug, which causes Rachel to hug him back, and thanks him for comforting her.

Returning to Dan's room, the scout Regular remains quiet after Nobic had told him the entire situation, and admits it to be a complicated situation. Nobic asks that the conversation stays between them, and to not tell anyone else, as he leads Dan out in order to introduce Dan to the rest of their team. Some time after, Nobic and Dan travel by Seal Taxi to a grass field on the 25th Floor. The two of them approach four Regulars, a black-skinned man, a woman wearing a lot of make-up, a yellow-bird, and a short boy with blue-hair similar to Khun's. The black-skinned Regular greets the two for their arrival, as Nobic introduces the group to their new scout, Dan. Nobic also introduces the four Regulars:

The light-bearer and scout, make-up woman, Apple. The wave controller, dark-skinned doctor, Michael. The spear-bearer, yellow-bird cook, Gyetang, who Khun promised would meet Princess Endorsi. And finally, the blue-haired fisherman, Ran.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_10.jpg
Dan meets the rest of Khun's team to have their ranking match

Having heard the team introduction, Dan is left amazed that Khun turned out to know Endorsi, one of the strongest E-rank Regulars, which Nobic admits to be the truth. Nobic reveals that Endorsi took part in the same 2nd level's Floor of Tests with Khun, and that they're likely to meet up with her later on due to the two being previous teammates. The revelation shocks Dan, who believes that it might be possible to climb the tower with Anaak Jahad and Hatz as well, which Nobic admits that the possibility is definitely there. Nobic then turns to the group, and asks if nows the time for them to start. Dan asks what Nobic is referring to, to which Nobic answers that within a team of Regulars, there's always a test to see how the members rank amongst each other power wise.

Back to Rachel's room, the two of them stop hugging as Khun asks if she's now feeling better. Rachel apologizes to him that it's been hard for her since she always has to rely on Khun, which Khun reassures her that it's ok to keep relying on him. However, he admits that it will be hard for him to replace Bam as her means of support, which comforts Rachel.

Getting up to leave, Khun asks for Rachel to take it easy since they will be climbing the Tower again very soon, which Rachel states that she will. He also asks Rachel to call her if any other problems occur as he closes the door. With Khun gone from her room, Rachel takes her bed covers off, and stands up on her own two feet.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_11.jpg
Now that Khun's gone, Rachel stretches out her legs to keep them from getting stiff

Giving off a sigh of relief, Rachel admits to herself that she got scared due to Khun stopping by her room unannounced, and starts to stretch out her body so that her legs don't get stiff. She admits that it feels good being treated like a princess, but states that it's boring having to pretend to be a cripple. Rachel then begins to get happy knowing that it will finally be time for her to start climbing the Tower again, and states that she hopes to see the star soon enough.

Over to Khun's room, he takes off the clothes he wore for the day, and calls up Shibisu on his Pocket. Shibisu admits that it's been a long time since the last time he heard from Khun, which the latter answers that it's because his new team is finally ready to start climbing the Tower. Khun states that he will meet up with Shibisu's team again soon enough, which Shibisu admits that he misses seeing Khun. The latter then asks about Anaak and Hatz, which Shibisu answers that it's the same as usual.

Shibisu next asks about how Rachel is doing, which Khun answers that even though she's done fine as usual, it's still hard to believe that she lied to everyone. Khun then looks at his lighthouse, revealed to be spying on Rachel's room, and watches as she continues to stretch out her legs that are supposed to be crippled.

    Knowing the Truth

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_12.jpg
Khun reveals to Shibisu that Lero-Ro found out Rachel betrayed them

The story flashes back to six years ago returning to the Floor of Tests. Khun is seen sitting with Shibisu, who's surprised to hear the former telling him that Rachel lied to the group about the results of the Submerged Fish Hunt Test. He asks if Khun is crazy, which Khun admits that he is. The answer angers Shibisu, who then asks what Rachel would gain from this lying to them about what happened to Bam. Khun answers that it's because of something Lero-Ro told him.

Shibisu asks what Khun means, which the latter answers that Lero-Ro called him to inform Khun that the Ranker pulled a few strings to bring a powerful doctor to the Floor of Tests. The doctor was meant to fix Rachel's legs the moment she had passed out after the Net Dolphin Queen spit her out at the end of the test. However, the doctor ended up informing Lero-Ro that Rachel's legs were actually perfectly fine. The revelation confuses Shibisu, which Khun explains that the wound she received from Ho wasn't that deep, and she would be able to use her legs normally to the point of even begin able to run.

Finally accepting that Rachel has been pretending to be hurt, Shibisu questions why she's doing this, but Khun answers that even he doesn't know. He deduces that there's a possibility that she's being threatened by someone, but also comes to the conclusion that Supervisor Yu Hansung was in on this since he's felt like there's some sort of connection between him and Rachel. Still confused over the situation, Shibisu questions what Khun plans to do since they've all promised to help Rachel climb the Tower.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_13.jpg
Khun tells Shibisu that he will create a new team to keep an eye on Rachel

Thinking it over, Khun states that he will form a new team while Shibisu takes the rest of the group to continue climbing the Tower. The answer surprises Shibisu as Khun explains that they should just keep this between the two of them since Bam's death is what brought the team together, and that it would easily fall apart the moment they find out about Rachel's treachary. Khun also informs Shibisu that he doesn't want to ruin the team that Bam wanted to protect, and asks that Shibisu does this for him by leading the other Regulars up the Tower.

Khun then points out that it should only be him that countinues to suspect that Rachel killed Bam, and states that it's only right that the cruelest person of the group (himself) should take this role. Shibisu remains shocked by Khun's words as Khun explains that Rachel is the only clue they have at the moment that could lead them to Bam's true killers.

Khun states that this task isn't going to be easy, but tells Shibisu that when the time comes, he will split away with Rachel from Shibisu's group in order to create a new team. The purpose of this split is to create a boundary that will keep Shibisu's primary group safe while Khun keeps an eye on Rachel.

    Ready to Climb

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_14.jpg
Dan confused as to why Michael, Gyetang and Apple are giving up the ranking match

Back to the present, the six members of Khun's team, Dan, Nobic, Apple, Michael, Gyetang, and Ran, are about to start their ranking match. Dan questions if what Nobic mentioned earlier means they're going to fight here, which Nobic answers to be the case, but informs Dan that the scout Regular can give up if he wants to. Believing that he's being underestimated, Dan proudly states that he will show off his powers to the group. However, he begins to sweat in confusion when he sees Apple, Michael, and Gyetang, all giving up right away. Dan thinks to himself that this suddenly doesn't feel right as Nobic mentions how great it is that the new member is showing some guts. Dan tries to change his mind, and states that he wants to give up too, but ends up getting pounded into the ground by Nobic. Michael heads over to Dan to heal his injures as Nobic turns to the only person left in the group, Ran. The blue-haired boy has continued to sit silently on a nearby rock until this point as Nobic announces that it's just the two of them left, and asks that they find out who's the strongest between the two of them.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_15.jpg
Ran and Nobic square off as the two strongest members of Khun's team

The heavily beat up Dan joins Apple, Michael and Gyetang behind a rock to watch the fight about to unfold between Nobic and Ran. Dan asks if there's perhaps something going on between the two of them, which Apple answers that the two have been at odds since they first met, and that Ran had actually defeated Nobic in an earlier fight. The answer surprises Dan learning that there's someone that actually beat the guy that he was just destroyed by. Michael adds in that Nobic is just using the arrival of new members as an excuse to get another chance to fight Ran. The black-skinned Regular also states that he believes that the only reason Nobic is even on their team is to get a chance to fight Ran, which causes Dan to ask if the short blue-haired boy is truly that strong. Michael answers that that is indeed the case as Ran ranks among the top-5 of the current E-Rank Regulars. Though Nobic isn't doing that bad either being ranked in the top-10.

Finally getting off his rock, Ran asks if Nobic is tired at this point since the spear-bearer is never going to beat him. However, Nobic answers that it won't be easy this time as he powers up his hand with shinsoo. Nobic launches a shinsoo blast at Ran claiming that this will finally be the time that he beats him. However, Ran easily dodges it and prepares a shinsoo attack of his own against Nobic; claiming that the top-10 spear-bearer Regular is being troublesome.

Some time passes as the six members of Khun's team return to his lodge. Looking at the six Regulars sitting in chairs before him, Khun tries not to laugh as he sees them all wearing black shirts each with a number on them ranked one through six: Ran ranked 1st, Nobic ranked 2nd, Gyetang ranked 3rd, Apple ranked 4th, Michael ranked 5th, and Dan ranked 6th.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_16.jpg
Khun informing his team that his desire is to become the head of the Khun Family

Khun begins to break out in laughter as Michael tells their leader that they're uniforms that Nobic ordered, but ended up getting two of the sizes wrong. Since Nobic believed that he would get 1st, Nobic is seen wearing what is supposed to be Ran's 2nd place small shirt while Ran is seen wearing Nobic's 1st place giant shirt.

Admitting that this was a good laugh, Khun informs the group that they're ready to start climbing the Tower again. Khun states that he's signed the team up to take the test for the 25th Floor, and that the exam will begin a month from now. He also informs the new team that his goal is still the same as it's always been; to replace Khun Eduan as the new head of the Great Khun Family. Dan, due to being new to the group, is shown to be surprised by the statement while the rest remain silent listening to Khun continue his speech. Khun states that if the six of them help grant his wish to become the head of his Great Family, he will grant them anything they desire.

However, in return, he asks the group to do only one thing for him until he can accomplish this goal. Khun thinks back to the statement he told Shibisu about how it's too cruel to suspect that Rachel may have killed Bam. That it has to be a job done by him to be that cruel person.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arc20_17.jpg
Believing that Rachel killed Bam, Khun orders the team to not grow attached to her

In his mind, Khun apologizes to Bam that going this path with Rachel needs to be done. Looking at the six Regulars, Khun asks the team to be the boundary that protects Rachel. He then asks that they help her climb the Tower, but only pretend to be friendly and nice.

Khun points out to not let their guard down thinking that they can befriend Rachel, and states that they should ignore her if she screams for help somewhere down the line. He finally asks for the team to only feel hate for her, because she's the girl that killed his best friend.

Meanwhile, Rachel continues to lie in her bed looking out at the fake star outside her window. She then sits back in her bed, and begins to laugh hysterically.

Completing Fences Tropes

  • Arc Villain: Rachel could technically be seen as one for this mini-arc.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Nobic performs one on Dan during the ranking match for Khun's team.
    • Meanwhile, Ran performs this on Nobic to show who's the strongest amongst Khun's team.
  • A Day in the Limelight:
    • A major one for Khun as the reader is introduced to the team he's made to help Rachel continue climbing the Tower.
    • Dan, the speedster scout, is also given the spotlight to act as the Audience Surrogate newcomer to Khun's team.
  • Evil Laugh: Rachel's laugh at the end of the arc. The images don't even show the actual laugh text; giving the moment an even creepier vibe.
