After having dated too many dumb jocks, Clover takes a theater class at Malibu University to meet more artistic men. However, people around campus start acting as fictional characters. Anyone who is in the play starts to act as their character both on and off of the stage. Is there something more to this than just method acting?

Tropes:

  • Broken Record: With the exception of Virgil, every that gets mind-controlled is stuck saying the same line over and over.
  • Drama Queen: Milton, the episode’s Villain of the Week, is the very definition of this.
  • Excuse Plot: In-Universe, Milton / Stefan's second shown play is little more than an excuse to murder his critics.
  • Forced Transformation: Using the Mind-Control Device, Milton turns Virgil into a cowboy, Mindy into a cockney maid, Mandy into an astronaut, the jock into a french businesswoman and Alex into an elderly lady.
  • Mind-Control Device: Milton uses one of these to make his victims into the perfect method actors.
  • No Peripheral Vision: When the girls are investigating a lab in the beginning of the episode, Sam easily hides from the guards by hanging from the ceiling right above them.
  • Nominal Importance: In addition to Virgil, Mindy and Mandy, Milton also targets an unnamed jock in his revenge plan.
  • School Play: While a little more high-brow than a high school play, Milton is still just a playwright for a college production that no one is attending and takes it far more seriously than he probably should.
  • Shout-Out: When Clover talks about acting as a femme fatale, a scene is shown of her in a black wig and dress lying on a bed like the cover picture of the film Pulp Fiction.
