As Sam's disappearances become more and more frequent, Clover and Alex, having grown increasingly concerned for her, decide to investigate and discover that she's involved with Jazz Hands. The revelation leads the two spies into a clash against Sam, whom they believe has finally gone rogue.

This episode includes examples of:

  • Big "WHAT?!": Sam’s reaction when she finds out that Mandy and Mindy have moved into their penthouse and redecorated it.
  • Blowing a Raspberry: The Bully does this to Clover and Alex when they let him go after realizing he’s a little kid.
  • Chair Reveal: After Jerry gives Clover and Alex their next assignment, his chair spins around to reveal Sam who had been there the whole time.
  • Domed Hometown: Jazz Hands’ island is covered in an invisible and impenetrable dome, requiring Sam to go undercover to infiltrate.
  • Dramatic Irony: We as the audience learn of Sam’s true intentions early on, but her mission isn’t revealed to Alex and Clover until the end of the episode.
  • Dramatic Thunder: A storm starts right as Sam is about to face off against her two best friends.
  • Enemy Mime: Jazz Hands
  • Everyone Hates Mimes: Sam gets on Jazz Hands’ good side by commiserating with him about how misunderstood mimes are.
  • Expecting Someone Taller: Clover’s reaction when she and Alex see The Bully for the first time. They later find out that he’s really just a kid and not some supervillain terrorizing children.
    Clover: He looks kinda…small.
  • Fighting Your Friend: Clover and Alex face off against Sam in this episode - they think Sam’s switched sides and become a supervillain, meanwhile she’s trying to keep the other girls from screwing up her secret mission.
  • Improvised Weapon: Due to not being given anything from Jerry, Alex and Clover use the makeshift “gadgets” they borrowed from the elementary school kids to take down Sam, with surprising efficiency.
  • "Mission: Impossible" Cable Drop: Sam does this to steal the microchip for Jazz Hands.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: Jerry makes a playground bully seem like a supervillain capable of conquering the world, all to get Alex and Clover out of the way.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Sam’s odd behavior, like skipping class and leaving in the morning without her usual latte, catches Clover and Alex’s attention and tips them off that she’s hiding something.
  • Out-of-Context Eavesdropping: Alex and Clover spy on Sam talking to Jazz Hands at a restaurant and, due to them not knowing she’s working for WOOHP undercover, they think she’s become a super villainess and is teaming up with one of their enemies.
  • Poor Communication Kills: When Clover and Alex find Sam’s “Operation: Secret Partnership” plan, they think she’s turned against WOOHP and is working with Jazz Hands. In reality, her secret partner is Jerry and she’s on a mission to infiltrate Jazz Hands’ headquarters and take him down. If Sam had just told the other girls about her mission, all of this confusion could’ve been avoided. On the other hand, Sam may have been able to calm some of their worries if Clover and Alex had just asked her what was going on instead of spying on her and jumping to conclusions.
  • Roommate Drama: Mandy and Mindy move into the Spies’ penthouse when their dorm gets flooded by a burst pipe.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: When trying to figure out what’s going on with Sam, Alex wonders if they should just ask her. Clover, however, quickly shoots that idea down and says they should spy on her instead.
