Recap / Time Stop Brave Ch 25 Higan and Stop

Go To

Sekai panics a little, runs back along the mine shaft, and tries to go up the slope. He tries to use his chisel to make handholds, but it can't penetrate the rock. He has no choice but to go back to the village, musing that it's like he's crossed over to a different game. He explores the village, noting that it really does look like an ancient Japanese village, and sees several corpses bleeding from their necks and several people hiding. He examines the people who are out in the open and sees fangs and inhuman eyes, concluding they are either oni or vampires.

He sees some of the creatures feeding on people and sadly concludes that they cannot be saved. He enters a castle and finds it overrun with the creatures. Some of the inhabitants committed seppuku to avoid being fed on and the lord of the castle has been killed by the creatures. He looks out the window and sees the creatures have tied a girl to a stake and are threatening her with spears. Overwhelmed by her beauty, saying she looks like a princess, Sekai unties her and carries her away. Once they are at a safe distance, he undoes her yukata and admires and gropes her naked body. He wonders why the creatures would execute her instead of simply feeding on her. He worries that if he unfreezes time, his party on the surface will be in danger from Nazar's guards, but he has no choice if he wants information. Besides, he wants to know what her voice and personality is like.

Sekai puts her yukata back on haphazardly and unfreezes time. The girl gets confused by her new surroundings, then gets embarrassed that her yukata is partially open. Sekai introduces himself. She glares at him and claps her hands. Concerned, he freezes time just as a sword was about to reach his throat. He freaks out that he almost died and sees the sword belongs to a kunoichi (female ninja). He strips and gropes her, criticizing her stereotypical ninja outfit and weapons, but is surprised by how many weapons she has concealed in her clothes. He ties her hands behind her back and unfreezes time, causing both girls to be shocked to suddenly find the kunoichi naked and tied up. He says that's payback for trying to kill him. The kunoichi calls the other girl "Princess", so Sekai comments that cleared up a few things. The princess begs Sekai to kill her, while the kunoichi, who reveals her name to be Mikage, says she will bite her tongue and join her in the afterlife. Sekai declares he's not doing that, but the princess says she has nothing to live for after her father and brother were killed. Sekai says she should live for the other people in the village.

He freezes time, summons Gankichi, then the two of them start evacuating everyone who is still alive, moving them to a clearing. He is saddened to see the people who are already dead. He drives a wooden stake through the heart of every creature he finds, not sure if that will work. He returns to the clearing and unfreezes time, shocking the princess, Mikage, and the other survivors. He is sad that he couldn't save the others, but the princess bows to him in gratitude and the others follow suit. The princess says he has given her a reason to live, as she will lead her villagers to a place safe from the creatures. He admires her care and devotion, then says they might not have to move if he managed to stop them.

He leads her and Mikage through the village where they see all the staked creatures. The princess is amazed, but says this will only buy them about half a day because the only way to kill them permanently is to expose them to sunlight. However, this poses a problem because the sun hasn't risen ever since the creatures attacked. It is supposed to be morning. Sekai wonders how this village got transported underground and worries that it is his fault. The princess says thanks to him, they have a chance at survival and she will lead her people to a safe place somehow. Sekai promises he will show them a paradise with an eternal sun.

He freezes time, then climbs a cliff overlooking the village with Gankichi. He figures he came to the edge of the map of the previous game and fell into a bug to enter this game, so he needs to find another bug. He wonders how the previous game was supposed to be played and guesses it would be a vertically scrolling shooter where Bahamut would blast enemies. They come across a pixelated wall and figure they reached the edge of the map. Gankichi has two bombs left, so they need to make them count.

Meanwhile, on the surface, Sekai's party and Nazar and his guards are puzzled that he vanished. Leafa shrugs and says he tends to do that. Nazar says the door in the Great Seal will only stay open for a week, so they need to hurry and secure the sacred treasure. Sekai's party stands aside and lets Nazar's guards enter the Great Seal. Nazar stays on the surface and thanks the party for not fighting them. Leafa asks what is going on because Mirei didn't tell her anything. The party goes back to town and eats shaved ice while filling Leafa in on what they know. Leafa says there is no way she is joining a silly Voh'ley tournament. Suddenly, the side of a mountain explodes. Sekai and Gankichi broke through the wall and it led them back to OffshoreRope. He celebrates by freezing time and stripping some random women.
