Tigtone and Helpy discover a lush city coated in gold. But inside the city, all of it's wealthy denizens are in a state of constant screaming and if they stop, they immediately explode into a pool of blood. With the aid of strange man in the desolate outskirts of the city, Tigtone must solve the mystery of this strange city.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: The Sound Monster is ultimately the person who stands on top by the end of the episode. Tigtone is unable to slay the beast and it gets to feed off the internal screaming of the citizens, which is much better to feed on than reguar vocal screams.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Veering extremely hard into the bitter side, to the point that it is arguably a Downer Ending. Tigtone helps the people of the screaming city stop screaming, by making them realize the futility of their worthless lives. This causes them to scream on the inside instead which is marginally better than just outwardly screaming. The Sound Monster ultimately gets what it wants and Tigtone has to endure a viscerally painful procedure to return his face back to normal (and even then he is left in a disfigured state).
  • City of Gold: The titular screaming city. Anyone who chooses to live in the city becomes immensely rich.
  • Equivalent Exchange: If you choose to live in the city, you get to live a life of luxury and wealth. However you have to cosntantly scream and if you ever stop (save for eating or needing to breathe), you get eviscerated into a pool of blood. The Sound Beast does mention that they can leave the city any time they want.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Tigtone briefly considers sacrificing himself to the beast so the townspeople can live in peace.
  • Mystical Plague: Subverted. It turns out that the town isn't infected by some sort of screaming-plauge. An invisible sound monster is killing anyone who isn't screaming in the city, as it feeds on screams.
  • Special Edition Title: The letters in "TIGTONE" are encased in gold to fit the theme of the titular city.
