Colonel Kubritz stages a phony quarantine on Arcadia High School to trap the Tarrons.

Tropes in this episode:

  • Answer Cut: When Aja asked for Krel and her "Mission", the coach answered it by greeting the students to summer school.
  • Continuity Nod: Mary asked if the quarantine is about "Jim Lake Disease", even though Darci says that it's all a lie.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: What makes Area 49-B withdraw from their plan to capture the Tarrons for the day? Their human friends threatening to record Kubritz' xenophobic statements on their phones and make them go viral on social media if she doesn't leave Aja and Krel alone. This is a popular technique that minorities and their allies use to defend themselves from bigots, especially ones with authority.
  • Failed Attempt at Drama: Sort of. When Toby and Steve tries to bust out Krel and Aja, the two continuously tries to open a door that keeps slamming in their faces twice.
Toby: Looks like class is- (door slams shut as Toby and Steve tries again) Class is dismiss- (door slams shut again, forcing Toby and Steve to simply walk in) Class dismissed! Is dismissed!
  • Foreshadowing: Aja and Krel getting a notice to attend Summer School is noted to not make sense by Coach Lawrence. Krel got good grades without even trying, and the notice claims that Aja has to retake Physical Education despite her being one of his best students in that class. A few minutes later, Area 49-B shows up and quarantines the school, revealing that they set up the whole thing as a trap for the Tarrons.
  • Glad I Thought of It: Krel steals Aja's idea of using the Zeron's retrieval ray just to prove that he's not a soolian.
  • Insistent Terminology: Kubritz insists that the aliens only slipped once.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Once Aja and Krel's human friends stand up to Kubritz, she decides it'll be better to capture the Tarrons at a later date when there aren't any witnesses around, so she withdraws Area 49-B from the high school and heads back to base to formulate a new plan.
  • Mistaken for Racist: While Kubritz is already xenophobic towards aliens, it gets weaponized against her here. When she corners Aja and Krel while they're in their human disguises, Kubritz spouts incredibly xenophobic comments which - due to her dedication to maintaining Plausible Deniability - does not directly accuse the Tarrons of being extraterrestrials. This causes the rest of the summer school students to interpret the comments as discrimination against the Tarrons due to being foreigners and threaten to record the Area 49-B personnel and make the video go viral, forcing them to back down and leave the Tarrons alone for now.
  • Not So Above It All: Both Zadra and Varvatos Vex takes pleasure in destroying the Foo-foo fighters.
  • Shouldn't We Be in School Right Now?: Toby is in Summer School because he has to make up the 45 days he missed for his Trollhunting duties.
Toby: Apparently Trollhunting's not good for your GPA.
  • Spotting the Thread: Turns out Coach Lawrence is not completely Dumb Muscle. He does initially buy Kubritz's lies that the school was contaminated and he was infected. It's when Costas asks him questions about Aja and Krel rather than the "sickness" that Coach quickly becomes suspicious and realizes that the whole "medical quarantine" is a total phony.

Illegal Aliens

Colonel Krubitz and her army attempt to apprehend two aliens at the Arcadia school. When explaining to the Coach about their presence, the situation plays outs like people in power racially discriminating against immigrants from "Cantaloupia" rather than officials on a mission to capture extraterrestrials from the planet Akiridion-5.

How well does it match the trope?
