Skarloey, Rheneas, and Rusty go to the incline to help Duncan. While the three enjoy working there, Duncan does not, and refuses to listen to the other engines, leading to trouble when he gets dragged up the incline.

Tropes featured in the episode:

  • An Aesop: Rushing to finish tasks, especially those involving heavy equipment, will lead to trouble.
  • Alliterative Title: "Dunkin Duncan".
  • Covered in Mud: After his incident on the incline ending with him falling into a muddy ditch, Duncan ends up absolutely covered in mud and moss.
  • Fantastic Racism: Duncan refers to Rusty as a "smelly diesel".
  • Jerkass: Duncan is this once again, being rude to Skarloey, Rheneas, and Rusty when they come to help him, and mocking them for not being as fast as he is.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Duncan gets hit with this in his haste to hurry up at the incline. Due to his rushing, he ends up being dragged up the incline, leading to an accident when the chain snaps and he is sent racing back down and into a muddy pool. To make things worse for Duncan, his punishment is to stay at the incline until he learns to be more careful.
  • Stock Audio Clip: In both dubs, Duncan's "HELP!" as he races down the incline is reused from "The World's Strongest Engine" when Diesel falls off the dock.
  • A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: If Duncan had listened to the other engines instead of rushing to get his jobs done, he wouldn't have had his accident.
