Return to Recap: The Smurfs (1981)
After a struggle with Azrael, Tracker Smurf brought back only one truffle to the Smurf Village. So, the other Smurfs are assigned with Tracker to bring back more. But while they squabbled for more truffles, Tracker loses his memory in the process. They were soon captured by pigs, who don't even eat truffles. So, Papa Smurf and the other Smurfs set off to stop the Thing with No Name and rescue the other Smurfs from the pigs. Back in the village, Tracker regained his memory and started talking about truffles. He gets thrown out of the village for talking about truffles and the episode ends.
This episode contains examples of:
- Getting the Boot: Grouchy by Poet and Harmony at the beginning of the episode, after the former expressed his hate of truffles.
- Tracker gets this treatment by his fellow Smurfs at the end of the episode, when he talked about his love of truffles.
- Hypocritical Humor: At the end of the episode, the other Smurfs are hypocritical of making others enjoy things they like and come off as heartless jerks to Tracker when they threw him out of the village.
- Identity Amnesia: Tracker loses his memory due to the Smurfs rambunctious behavior and remains like this for the rest of the episode. At the end, he get his memory back, thanks to Clumsy's carelessness while holding a plank.
- Overly Long Gag: Not only do The Smurfs keep talking about truffles, but everyone else does throughout the episode. Grouchy is simply the only one annoyed by it.
