Papa Smurf needs 100 Smurfs to perform the Dance of the Moon, but there are only 99 in the village. Meanwhile, Vanity Smurf makes a mirror, but it's struck by lightning, which makes his reflection come alive.

- Cross Counter: Vanity and his Mirror Self duplicate both throw their fists at each other...and end up hurting each other's fists when they connect since they were in mirror sync with each other.
- Getting the Boot: Jokey Smurf near the end when he tries to impersonate Papa Smurf as his Mirror Self.
- Lightning Can Do Anything: The mirror being struck by lightning somehow brings Vanity's reflection to life.
- The Man in the Mirror Talks Back: Vanity's reflection comes to life after the mirror is struck by lightning.
- Mirror Self: When Vanity Smurf's reflection becomes alive, at first he keeps acting the same as vanity Smurf, just changing right with left. This synchronism ends when the reflection hits his head on a wall.
- Portal Slam: After being rejected by the other Smurfs, Vanity's reflection tries to jump back inside the mirror. At first he's unable to, so he gets a running start, but instead of going inside the mirror, he goes through it and comes out reversed, becoming a real Smurf.
- Practical Joke: Jokey Smurf posing as Papa Smurf's mirror self near the end. Papa Smurf wasn't amused when he found out.
- There Is Only One Bed: Vanity Smurf and his Mirror Self shared a single bed, which they didn't mind at first, but eventually found uncomfortable as they had to deal with each other tossing and turning in mirror-reversed sync.
- Verbal Tic: The hundredth Smurf speaks the same sentences that Vanity Smurf speaks, only with the the letters reversed in a mirror-like way. Even after their synchronism ends, he can only talk in this backwards way until he becomes a real Smurf near the end.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: After Vanity Smurf's reflection becomes a real Smurf, he is hardly ever seen again, likely fading into the background alongside other generic Smurfs.
