An Alien named Gleeko arrives in the village, takes on the form of a Smurf and forces the Smurfs to be his friends. Smurfette must save the day from the alien with the help of Smurfblossom, Smurfstorm, and Smurflily.
This episode has the following tropes:
- A Day in the Limelight: For the Smurfettes.
- Action Girl: What Smurfette and the others show to save their friends.
- *Crack!* "Oh, My Back!": Papa Smurf, who attempts to fight Smurfette when hypnotized, cracks his back.
- Disproportionate Retribution: Gleeko actually hypnotizes the Smurfs for quite petty reasons:
- First, he hypnotizes Hefty because he pushed him.
- He hypnotizes Brainy for believing he's Jokey.
- He hypnotizes Harmony for questioning him.
- In the next scene, Gleeko hypnotizes Handy because he was trying not to hurt somebody. Gleeko than believes he's a drag.
- Gleeko attempts to befriend Grouchy. After he says "Me, I don't like friends", Gleeko hypnotizes him.
- Dude, Not Funny!: Hefty is the first Smurf Gleeko assumes control of. Harmony and Brainy are confused and Brainy says "This isn't funny anymore, Jokey."
- Girls Have Cooties: The alien believes that Smurfette has cooties.
- Force Feeding: Gleeko the alien briefly does this to Hefty, since he, who was posing as a Smurf, does not know how to eat yet.
- Hypno Ray: The alien uses a ray to hypnotize the Smurfs.
- I Just Want to Have Friends: Gleeko the Alien reveals this near the end of the episode.
- Mistaken Identity: Gleeko, the alien who disguises himself as a Smurf, is mistaken for Jokey because he was the Smurf Gleeko assumed the appearance of.
- Royal Brat: Gleeko the Alien when disguised as an Smurf.
- Spit Take: Harmony does this in his cup after Gleeko as a Smurf comes out of nowhere.
