PART 1:

Arline and Mabel are practicing under the hot sun, Dipper watching from the shade of the porch, the Journal beside him. Mabel is anxious to do it right and impress her brother, but her worrying about it is distracting her, something Arline picks up on. The two finish, Arline saying Mabel was a bit rusty. Dipper was impressed with his sister, and wonders what he looks like if what he saw was rusty.

Arline says he can join them any time he wants to before saying she is going to be in town for the day. She says that she is going to catch up with an old friend before heading out. Mabel check on Waddles, who is just as hot as she feels, before looking at the Journal. Dipper has added a bunch of things about Aliens, Tulpas, Spiders and Werewolves to help clarify some things/make sure new info is recorded.

Yuki opens the door to the porch and informs the twins that a carnival is coming to town soon. He asks the twins if they could take him to it, and the twins agree, Dipper wanting to make a big date about it. Yuki heads back inside as Mabel begins teasing Dipper about his thing for Wendy, unaware of Dipper's suspicions. Before Dipper can tell her about his suspicions, they notice a blonde figure trying to sneak closer to the Manor.

Mabel calls Pacifica over, the blonde girl telling them not to say her name because she doesn't want people to know she come to them. Dipper and Pacifica make smart comments to each other about the truth before Mabel asks what Pacifica is doing there. She apologizes for the Talent Show incident and says she needs their help.

She explains that her family sponsors practically all town events, including the carnival. They were going to have a Freak Show section, but ever since Tambry put a video of the spider attack online, everyone wants something like that. She passed Arline on the driveway and asked if she would perform, but Arline turned her down, so she is asking the twins to find... something for the carnival.

They asks Pacifica for more specifics about what she wants, and eventually she decides that she wants something inhuman, but friendly so it can be interacted with. Dipper is about to turn her down, but Pacifica says that, while they aren't on the best terms, if they help her, she'll try not to bother them anymore. Dipper agrees on one condition- they get a favor from her family. Upset about that part, Pacifica takes the deal, Mabel gushing about how cute they are.

Pacifica tells them to bring whatever it is to the fair when they have it and heads out, hiding in the bushes as she leaves. Dipper suggests they go talk to Multi-bear and see if he would be willing to help out. They decide to leave as soon as possible, heading inside to tell everyone what they are doing.

Everyone is in the Gift Shop for once, Stan telling Yuki that he won't be getting water heaters for the motel rooms, despite the health problems Yuki points out. Yuki leaves to do something to the fridge as the twins tell Stan about them going into the woods for Pacifica. Stan tells Soos to go with them, upsetting Wendy who says she wants to go. Stan mentions how she should still be recovering from the wardrobe attack by a crazed Tulpa, and she admits that her back does kind of hurt, so she stays put.

Dipper leads Mabel ans Soos towards the mountain Multi-bear lives in, the trip there uneventful for once. They climb the mountain, Multi-bear's cave coming into view just before trouble arrives. The three of them look down to see four Manotaurs taunting them, one throwing up a pack of beef jerky. Multibear comes out of his cave and greets Dipper and his friends before turning to the Manotaurs. He tells the Manotaurs to leave his friends alone, Mabel and Soos helping to send them away by saying one of the bandana's they have on is a girls bandana.

Multi-bear compliments Mabel on being able to get rid of the Manotaurs and leads the three of them into his cave. Dipper tells him why they came, but when Multi-bear hears that most of the town would see him, he refuses to leave his cave. He says that he knows what happens when people see him, and that he will avoid attention at all costs, staying in his cave until he is forced to move.

The twins are upset by this until Multi-bear mentions something he thinks could help them. He says that somewhere above his cave is another cave full of ice, and that one day he discovered something they should see for themselves. The three of them leave the cave, Dipper concerned that Multi-bear never actually said what was up there. Mabel shrugs and starts climbing, saying that the last one up has to lick the ice.

Dipper follows his sister, Soos following him, and eventually they make it to the ice cave, the town a small spec below them. The twins head inside, Soos following, and start checking out the ice cave. Mabel wonders if the thing they are looking for is dangerous, and Dipper says Multi-bear wouldn't have told them about it if it was. The sound of ice breaking behin them has them turn around.

Soos has licked an icicle, his tongue getting stuck on it. He has broken the icicle off of the roof, a two-foot-long hunk of ice stuck to his mouth. Dipper tells Soos that the whole 'last one there' thing was just a joke before trying to help him pull of the icicle, to no avail. Soos starts spinning around and eventually the icicle breaks free, hitting a wall of ice next to them, cracks spider-webbing along the wall.

The three of them watch as the cracks move, noticing a big brown outline of something frozen in the ice. The ice wall shatters, freeing whatever was trapped. The creature has brown fur and tusks, and has been extinct for thousands of years. Soos thinks it's a woolly mammoth, but Mabel tells him it is a mastodon before running over to it and burying herself in its fur, the mastodon unconcerned by Mabel's actions.

Dipper and Soos stare as the creature starts using her trunk to pet Mabel in return. Mabel says that the mastodon is a girl, as her tusks are too small for a boy, shocking Dipper with her knowledge. Mabel says that she always paid attention in class when animals came up. Soos and Dipper move closer, the mastodon welcoming them as well. Deciding she needs a name, Soos suggests Mina, pleasing the Mastodon. The now four of them begin the hike back down the mountain.

Back at the Manor, Yuki is still trying to convince Stan to put in the heaters, Stan laughing when Yuki mentions ethics. Stan walks outside to throw something away, only to come face-to-trunk with Mina, Mabel riding the creatures back. Yuki and Wendy run outside upon hearing the trumpet sounds, Mabel explaining that Mina's species was extinct until they found her.

Stan, realizing that one-of-a-kind creatures are crazy special, decides to take advantage and make money off of Mina. Mina's reaction is to Stan's fez off his head and eat it. Stan takes this as a deal, heading back inside as Wendy walks closer to the mastodon. Mina backs away at first, but after Mabel encourages her, Mina touches Wendy for half a second before taking her trunk back.

Dipper and Yuki pull Mabel aside and tell her that once the carnival is over, they should donate Mina to science. Mabel is concerned about having Mina locked up somewhere, but Dipper points out that if she stays with them, that will happen one way or another. Mabel says she'll think about it before Waddles comes outside, staring at Mina nervously.

Mabel picks up Waddles and brings him over to Mina, who reaches out her trunk. Waddles bends forward to touch Mina, and Mabel sees lights go off in their eyes. Proclaiming that Mina and Waddles are in love, Mina picks up the pig and puts him on her back, Waddles squealing happily. Mabel proclaims herself the ultimate match-maker, yelling to the heavens to tell the love gods to bow before their new master.

PART 2:

Pacifica is walking around the carnival, making sure everything is set up. The rides and food are clear, although she is nervous about the animals, specifically whatever-it-is the twins found for her. She heads towards the pen that was set aside for them to get a face full of trumpet, falling on the ground.

Mabel pulls her to her feet and introduces her to Mina, Waddles still on her back. At first Pacifica thinks Mina is just a tiny, hairy elephant, so Yuki pulls out a promotional sign they made. Under the actual promotional part is a diagram of Mina compared to a regular elephant, proving Mina is special.

Pacifica is pleased with with Mina and agrees to the twins' favor. Pacifica mentions Wendy, Dipper telling her she stayed behind to watch the Manor. Pacifica says Dipper would rather be with Wendy before Mabel jumps in, stopping their argument. Mabel pulls Dipper away as Pacifica starts to leave.

Yuki, who has been admiring the carnival, almost bumps into her. He says that he had always wanted to see a hum- American carnival. Pacifica asks if they had carnivals in Japan, Yuki almost revealing his Alien-ness, but is able to recover, Pacifica laughing at what she thinks are jokes. He asks for his last name, which is hard since his species don't have last names. He tells her is full name is Yuki Dohth, and Pacifica offers to take him on a tour of the carnival.

As the two of them leave, Stan turns the sign around, showing the side that says pictures with Mina are ten bucks each. They leave to get set up, Mabel playing Frisbee with Mina as Dipper watches, thinking intently about something. Mabel tries to get Dipper to play Frisbee, but he refuses, concerned about how Stan is going to react when the scientist they called in from California arrives to take Mina away.

Mabel continues throwing the Frisbee with Mina, questioning whether giving her to scientists is a good idea. Giving Mina to science could bring back her species, but Mabel is concerned about how the scientists will treat her. And she doesn't want to separate Mina and Waddles. Trying to distract herself, she asks Dipper if he and Pacifica are cool. Dipper tries to respond yes, but it comes off as no. Mabel reminds him that Pacifica helps them defeat Bill three years ago, and Dipper says that he remembers before walking off to find Yuki so they can distract Stan. As Dipper leaves, Mabel realizes that he never got over the break-up.

Somewhere else, Yuki is asking Pacifica how certain games work, Pacifica amused at his excitement. He says that old games provide a chance to learn about tradition, which is why he is so interested in them. Pacifica calls him eccentric, which he takes a a compliment considering what has happened to him recently. Pacifica starts leading Yuki to the food, but is interrupted by Dipper.

Dipper takes Yuki away, Pacifica offering to continue the tour, insisting Yuki call her by her name. Once she is out of earshot, Dipper tells Yuki to be careful around her. Dipper then says, with the scientist supposed to arrive at noon, it'll be up to Yuki to distract Stan so Dipper can give Mina to the guy. Yuki is concerned about his lying abilities, but agrees to do so for science.

The carnival starts for real, Mina quickly becoming a popular attraction, Stan happy with the monetary results. As noon comes, business slows as more people go for food. Mina and Waddles get some couple time, Soos thinking of Melody. He tells Mabel that Melody is going to come to town in two weeks for Summerween, reminding Mabel of the holiday.

Soos is about to tell Mabel of something else exciting happening in a few days, but is cut off by Stan telling him to go get drinks. Yuki interjects, telling Stan that someone is giving out free money on the other side of the carnival. Mabel is suspicious, but Stan says Yuki could never lie to anyone, and he follows the Alien away from Mina. Dipper asks Soos to go get drinks anyway, and Soos complies, leaving the twins alone with the mastodon.

Dipper pulls the sign out of the ground, ready to give Mina away. This shocks Mabel, as she had assumed it would happen in a few weeks and was uninformed of Dipper and Yuki's plan. Dipper is trying to lead Mina out of the pen when an angry Pacifica shows up with her parents.

Preston congratulates the twins on discovering Mina, he and Dipper stiff with each other. Preston asks to speak to Stan about a deal for Mina, but the twins say that they are the ones in charge of what happens to her. Preston insists he talk to Stan, the most adult of the Manor gang. Dipper asks what they want Mina for, Mrs. Northwest saying Preston wants to add Mina to his collection of stuffed things.

Horrified, Pacifica sends her parents away. Mabel says Mina is priceless, but Pacifica points out that her parents are more than willing to pay Stan more than enough money to retire on, and Stan will not hesitate to accept. Pacifica tells them to get Mina out of the carnival ASAP, and Dipper begins leading her away from the pen, the girls following her.

Before they are able to get far, Stan comes back, demanding to know what they are doing. Dipper asks where Yuki is, Stan saying he got lost in the funhouse and he left the alien behind before turning back to the business at hand. Dipper yells that the cast of the Duchess Approves is behind Stan, distracting him long enough for Dipper and Mina to start running away, Waddles still riding on Mina's back.

Soos returns with the drinks just as Stan begins chasing after Dipper and Mina. Mabel follows the three of them, Pacifica bringing up the rear as Mina destroys everything in her path. Mabel becomes more angry as Mina first crashes through two tents, then plows over a slip'n slide, becoming tangled in the plastic.

The mastodons' destroying spree temporarily halted, Stan and Dipper turn on each other, the former wanting to hold onto Mina for all the money she will bring, the latter wanting to benefit humanity by giving her to science. Mabel yells at both of them, stopping their fight in its tracks.

She walks over at removes the plastic from Mina's legs, telling her brother and her Grunkle that if anyone gets to decide what happens to Mina, it's her. Pacifica catches up, angered at the destruction, and tells the arriving security to take Stan and Dipper off the carnival grounds. Pacifica says she will take the money Stan made to repay the tents before sending the gathering crowd away.

The two girls sit down next to Mina, Pacifica admitting that the damage could have been worse, especially considering who they are. The two share a laugh before Pacifica apologizes for pretending not to recognize her the first time, saying that after the twins left, it was easier to pretend to be mean and tough. Mabel accepts the apology, thankful Pacifica didn't die or something while they were gone.

The two of them turn to Mina, Mabel wondering what to do with her, her current options not all that great. Pacifica says she might have an idea, and they head over to a man named Mr. Gullian, the carnival's owner. He is impressed by Mina, and Pacifica explains that the mastodon is getting too much attention currently. Mabel says she doesn't know what to do with her, the options not great, and Mabel doesn't want to make a decision that could potentially ruin Mina's life.

Mr. Gullian suggests letting Mina make the decision, and all eyes turn to the Mastodon, Waddles still on her shoulders. Mabel tells Mina about the current choices, stay in town or go with scientists, letting the creature pick for herself. Mina looks around the carnival and eventually wraps her trunk around Mr. Gullian's hand, giving the mastodon equivalent of a handshake.

The humans present realize that Mina wants to be a circus Mastodon, Mr. Gullian saying that he could make that work. Mabel says goodbye to Mina before taking Waddles off her shoulders. Pacfica, Mabel and Waddles start walking away, but Waddles stops when her realizes Mina isn't following. The pig and Mastodon say their goodbyes, Mabel watching teary-eyed as they say goodbye to Mina.

Mabel says Waddles and Mina were close, jogging Pacifica's memory that Yuki is still lost somewhere in the funhouse. Pacifica goes to find him while Mabel and Waddles find Soos, catching him up on what happened. The two of them pack up and head back to the cars, where Stan and Dipper are waiting. They apologize to Mabel about letting everything get to their heads, although Stan is upset upon finding out Mina is staying with the carnival. Dipper really is sorry and asks what he can do to make it up to Mabel. Mabel notices Pacifica leading a shocked Yuki over to them, and tells Dipper to apologize to Pacifica.

Dipper walks over to where Pacifica is trying to calm Yuki down, all of the mirrors in the funhouse having freaked him out. Dipper tells Yuki to head to the cars, the Alien officially over funhouses. Dipper and Pacifica watch him leave, before turning to stare awkwardly at each other, neither quite sure what to say.

They both try to talk at the same time, Pacifica allowing Dipper to go first. Through the ensuing awkward conversation, we find out that they tried dating while Dipper still had feelings for Wendy. He tried to hide them, lying to himself just as much as Pacifica, but was unable to get over Wendy. Pacifica was hurt by this and the two fought, both realizing they acted stupid three years ago. They decide they can be friends, Dipper even offering to let Pacifica visit them at the Manor. Pacifica says she is too busy, but maybe they can work something out where she goes to the Manor or the Manor gang meets up with her and they all hang at the next big event.

Dipper says that will try to contain.prevent damage at the next event instead of causing it, the joke kind of falling flat considering the events of just a while ago. The two say goodbye and Dipper heads back to his car, Mabel happy he and Pacifica are cool again. The start driving away from the cranival, waddle slooking out the window at his lost love. Mabel tells him that he will see her again.
