Penny tries out for the cheer team, a spot she is assured to earn by captain and best friend Dijonay, but ends up having compete with LaCienega, the new girl in town and an old friend of Dijonay's, for it. LaCieniga, while seemingly nice to everyone else, is catty and hostile towards Penny, and it’s made worse when Penny discovers her family has moved across the street from the Prouds, and their families end up hitting it off and force them to get along, with no one believing Penny about how nasty LaCieniga really is. The Gross Sisters offer a harsh solution for Penny to sabotage LaCieniga during their cheer off, but after the plan is set up, Penny must decide whether to do the right thing or not.
Tropes
- Be Careful What You Wish For: Penny wished LaCienega wouldn’t be around to ruin her life, and Sticky hopes Penny doesn’t really mean that and was just joking. Unfortunately, the Gross Sisters were all to eager to oblige, deciding to off LaCienega themselves, and they force Sticky to design a giant CD that will send the girl flying.
- Karma Houdini: LaCienega doesn't even get a slap on the wrist for her terrible behavior here, and Penny is the one who suffers in the end instead, which comes off as a bit odd because the former almost always suffers at least a little for her actions in later episodes. Dijonay does at least find out that LaCieniga isn’t as nice as she used to be and apologizes to Penny.
- The Gross Sisters also don't get any comeuppance for causing Penny's injury in the first place. Or for whatever it was they did to poor Sticky.
- Nothing Is Scarier: Sticky does not go into detail on what the Gross Sisters did to him during his captivity. Worst case scenario is that he was most likely tortured into making the giant CD.
- This Cannot Be!: Penny says this word for word upon realizing that LaCienega is her new neighbor.
- "Pan Up to the Sky" Ending: How the episode ends after the end tag.
