Oscar tries to get a break on "Oscar Day", but gets forced to watch Puff by Sugar Mama, and is later forced to go to the furniture store with Trudy leaving Penny to watch the Twins and Puff. When Puff is lost in the river, he ends up going on a wild adventure around the world.

- Chekhov's Gun: The French armoire that Trudy wanted to get and that it would be shipped in two weeks from France, it just so happens to be onboard the very American supply ship that Puff swam to from France and hid there to get back home.
- "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: Oscar points out to Trudy that none of the events of the episode would have happened if she "just let it be Oscar Day like I had planned".

- Never My Fault: When Oscar rightly points out about how none of the events would have happened if Trudy didn’t drag him along to go shopping with him, Trudy just brings up how Oscar spends too much of his time watching TV to deflect from the conversation and to avoid holding herself accountable.
- Oblivious Guilt Slinging: After Puff goes missing, Suga Mama blames Oscar for the whole situation and tells Penny that she should have trusted her instead. She is completely unaware that Penny caused the whole situation to begin with, something that the girl is visibly uncomfortable with.
- That Cloud Looks Like...: Puff sees both the Prouds and Suga Mama as clouds during his travels.
