One of the Derby-tantes injuries herself during a Deathball game. So Buttercup volunteers Bubbles to replace her. While Bubbles is nervous she comes to like playing on the team. However this spotlight shining makes Buttercup jealous.

- Didn't See That Coming: The final opponents in the Deathball finals turn into robots much to the bewilderment of Bubbles and Buttercup.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Quite literally. Buttercup (whose eyes are green) becomes jealous of the attention Bubbles gets while on the Deathball team.
- It's All About Me: Buttercup accuses Blossom of this when she asks for help in fighting Tankenstein.
- Running Gag: Blossom having to fight a monster called Tankenstein and constantly getting crushed while calling for help. At the end, Tankenstein invades after the Deathball game and when Buttercup calls Blossom to action, she passes out.
