Recap / The Omnitrix Hero S 4 E 13 Ten V Ten

Go To

As Flash and his friends confront the nine criminals that have been on a stealing spree across Canterlot, Shadow finally reveals his true goal; to create an even stronger version of the Omnitrix to allow him to defeat Flash. Flash and his friends now face their Ultimate Enemy.

  • Bad Boss: Shadow constantly bosses the other villains of his alliance around, including his father Negatine, and calls them idiots behind their back.
  • Cliffhanger: The chapter ends with Shadow revealing the Ultimatrix and using it to transform into Ultimate Riot-Horn, with everyone being in shock.
  • Dope Slap: When Flash shows to be a bit too overconfident when he and the others are preparing to take the fight to the villains, Azmuth throws a device at his head and reminds him the Omnitrix is only a device and is only as good as the user.
  • Emerging from the Shadows: Shadow does this when revealing himself as the mastermind to the heroes.
  • Failed a Spot Check: It wasn't until the criminals were back at their warehouse headquarters that Dynamo noticed the tracker that Shining Armor had slipped on Animac while he was getting away. While the others all gave him a Death Glare, Animac countered that they didn't see it before either, with him saying he had a valid excuse in that it was on the back of his heel.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Shadow calls Flash his "less handsome twin". This coming from the evil clone.
  • Internal Reveal: Everyone discovers that Shadow is the mastermind behind the mysterious alien tech and the villains teaming up.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • When Shadow reveals he is planning to search the multiverse for an improved version of the Omnitrix he can use against Flash, he guesses maybe there will be a version that can fuse two aliens together or one that gives the aliens a suit of armor. The former is a version used by the Ben 10,000 that appeared in Ben 10: Omniverse and the latter a feature of the Omnitrix from the 2016 reboot.
    • Ultimate Riot-Horn is based on Exo-Skull, a criminal briefly seen in Ben 10,000.
  • Sarcastic Clapping: Shadow makes his big reveal giving a sarcastic clapping to the heroes after they defeat the nine other villains.
  • Spotting the Thread: Sunset notices how Devious and Chrysalis seem to be holding back during the battle with her, Trixie, and Pinkie. She asks the other groups over the phone who exactly they are fighting, realizing that only six of the nine known villains are attacking them, and that these attacks are just a distraction.
  • Tempting Fate: Just before Flash and the others went out to face the criminals, Flash shows a bit of overconfidence that with the Omnitrix, he'd be able to handle whatever they encountered, with Azmuth warning him not to get cocky. Sure enough, he was caught off-guard by Shadow returning, armed with the Ultimatrix.
