Flash and the others encounter the alien Xylene who is an agent of the Plumbers. Unfortunately, one of Vilgax's old drones arrives not long after her, attempting to retrieve the Omnitrix from Flash. In the ensuing battle, Cadance discovers that her husband has been keeping secrets from her.
- Damsel in Distress: The drone realizes that Cadance is the most vulnerable member of the group, lacking any abilities of her own, and kidnaps her to draw Flash out.
- Death by Adaptation: After being alluded to by Vilgax previously, Xylene confirms that Max Tennyson is dead in this setting, with her simply saying he died on an assignment right before the Earth branch of the Plumbers was shut down.
- The Ghost: Xylene briefly discusses the creator of the Omnitrix with Flash, but he never actually appears in the chapter himself.
- It Only Works Once: Xylene reveals she has an Omnitrix Access Key, which can be used to do just one thing with the Omnitrix. She originally plans to use it to remove the Omnitrix from Flash and give it to someone she feels is more worthy of it, like Shining Armor, but instead uses it to unlock the Ninjage form for Flash.
- Mundane Utility: Flash uses his hoverboard around Shining's house to help decorate for Cadance's surprise.
- Not His Sled: This chapter initially follows a similar plot to Xylene's debut episode of the same name from canon, but in the climax of the chapter instead of unlocking Upchuck, she unlocks a brand new alien for Flash instead.
- Remembered I Could Fly: As Flash, Trixie, and the Rainbooms panic over Cadance possibly seeing Xylene and try to figure out how to keep her out of sight, Trixie suddenly remembers she can just cast an illusion on Xylene to make her look like a normal human. This is justified somewhat, since Trixie only recently got her illusions powers back, but it ultimately becomes a moot point since Vilgax's drone attacks before she can do it, leading to Cadance discovering Xylene and everyone else anyway.
- Secret-Keeper: Cadance becomes this for Flash, Trixie, and Shining Armor after learning about their secrets identities.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Cadance is outraged upon discovering that Shining Armor had been keeping secrets from her and risking his life for months. Though Shining tries to explain it wasn't his place to tell her Flash's secret and betray his trust, she is still mad that he was essentially betraying her trust and lying to her, and not considering what would have happened to her and Flurry if something happened to him. By the end though, even though she still says it was wrong of him to keep secrets from her, she agrees to let him keep being a Plumber and helping Flash protect the world instead of forcing him to give it up
- Written-In Absence: Flurry Heart is absent since Shining Armor says he left her with his parents for the night, so he and Cadance won't have to worry about her for their romantic night together.
