Learning how to use the Omnitrix, Flash becomes a local hero to Canterlot City, using his powers to help those he can. However, his behavior has caught the eye and hostility of police detective, Shining Armor, but both are soon forced to join forces against a mad scientist.
- And I Must Scream: Fluttershy can still understand the mutated animals with her magic, and they all say how much they hate their mutated bodies and want to be normal again, with them only obeying Animac because of the control he has over them.
- Call-Back: Rainbow has her leg in a cast after having it broken in the previous chapter. She also says how she hopes she meets Diamondhead again so she can properly thank him for saving her and her friends.
- Chained to a Bed: After Shining Armor learns Flash can transform into aliens, he takes him to an abandoned warehouse and handcuffs him to a bed so he can't reach his watch and interrogates him for answers. Flash manages to escape by activating the watch via one of the headboard's bars.
- Damsel in Distress: Animac captures Twilight and takes her hostage during the battle at the zoo, with Shining agreeing to team up with Flash to save her.
- Fire-Forged Friends: Flash and Shining start out opposed to each other, as the latter is suspicious of aliens running around Canterlot City. Fortunately, working together to take down Animac leads them to develop a companionship that would last for future chapters.
- Heroic Fire Rescue: The chapter opens with a burning building, where Flash uses Firefly to rush in and rescue a mother and child.
- Ideal Hero: The reason Shining decides not to turn Flash over to the police is because he sees the latter as this trope. Witnessing him take down Animac for no profit or recognition makes Shining realize that he's a genuine hero and a positive impact on Canterlot City, contrary to his previous apprehension to the aliens.
- Improperly Paranoid: Shining is suspicious of the new alien heroes because he believes that they're just trying to earn humanity's trust so that they can stab them in the back and turn them into livestock.
- Pet the Dog: Riot-Horn battles Animac's mutant spider-phant in the climax of the chapter, but after all the hybrids are returned to normal, Riot-Horn gives the elephant that was being controlled a friendly pat on the head after making sure it is okay.
- Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The title is a pun on Animal Farm.
- Reset Button: Destroying Animac's invention reverts all of the hybrid animals back to normal.
- Secret-Keeper: Shining Armor agrees to become this for Flash, after discovering his secret of being the alien heroes and deciding he doesn't deserve to be arrested.
