Film: Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977)

This review contains examples of:

  • Inherently Funny Words:
Critic: The name Pazuzu is not scary! It sounds silly! Very, very silly!
  • Nightmare Retardant: Invoked when the Critic says that while the film has a lot of potentially scary ideas, its execution of said ideas is more silly than scary.
(after Pazuzu possesses the boy) Critic: Okay, you sound more like Eartha Kitt from The Emperor's New Groove, but whatever, I'll still try to be scared.
  • Shout-Out: "I have maggots in my scrotum!"
  • This Is Gonna Suck: After the Gods end Nostalgiaween, the Nostalgia Critic is grateful and asks how he can repay them. They drop Doug's 1st Movie for him to review, to which he groans at.
  • Toilet Humor: The Critic when imitating a little kid with whom Regan confides that she was possessed by a demon.
  • Who Would Be Stupid Enough?:
Critic: Oh, what a beautiful sunset... in that it's literally a sun on a set. I don't know who they're fooling with that.
  • Written-In Absence: When Regan says that her mother is away all the time, Critic says that Ellen Burstyn (her actress) refused to show up in the film after reading the script.

"I was... possessed by a demon."
