Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 3 E2b Rock A Bye Pooh Bear

Go To

Piglet refuses to sleep out of fear of a nightmare about losing his friends coming true.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Balloon Belly: Tigger has one after the group has a particularly large breakfast at Piglet's insistence.
  • Dream Deception: Pooh, Rabbit, and Tigger pretend that Piglet is dreaming and set in motion events similar to his nightmare so that he can face his fear and start actually getting sleep again.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come: Discussed. Piglet thinks that his nightmare is an example of this trope.
  • Exact Words: Each of the incidents in Piglet's dream come true with a more realistic bend. Pooh only gets his head stuck in a honey pot as opposed to his entire body; Rabbit gets blown away trying to hold onto a rock instead of driving away in a carrot race car; and Tigger is blown away into the sky as opposed to bouncing so hard he flies into the sky. All of them are able to quickly reunite with Piglet.
  • Halloween Episode: Subverted. The episode has nothing to do with Halloween, but since it revolves around nightmares and facing your fears, it was bundled with "A Knight to Remember" for the VHS "Spookable Pooh" released in 1995 and 2001, which was part of Disney's Halloween catalogue. It even provides the image on the cover.
  • Never Sleep Again: The basis of the episode. Piglet is so scared by his nightmare that he refuses to go back to sleep out of fear of suffering the same nightmare again.
  • Not Me This Time: Rabbit's ears begin twisting completely of their own volition, and when Tigger congratulates him for the performance, Rabbit insists it's not him but a true sign of an approaching storm.
  • Properly Paranoid: Zigzagged. Everybody insists that Piglet's dream won't come true, but not only does it really come true, it gets realized in arguably scarier fashion for some of them. Rabbit and Tigger are both blown away by the storm as opposed to simply driving or bouncing away. Pooh gets off easy though, since he has a more more mundane fate of getting his head stuck in the honey pot.
