Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 1 E 10

Go To

During a day where Rabbit is doing housework, several of his friends come to ask about "borrowing" or "taking" things. He feels unappreciated, especially when Pooh Bear messes with his calendar by accident and makes Rabbit think it's his birthday.

Tropes for this episode include

  • Not-So-Forgotten Birthday: Subverted; no one forgot Rabbit's birthday. It's that Pooh pulled off a whole week from the calendar, giving Rabbit the wrong idea. Christopher Robin notices it at the end of the episode and informs Rabbit that his calendar is a week ahead.
  • Pet the Dog: The crow storms Rabbit's birthday party...to deliver the first slice of cake to him. Rabbit sincerely thanks him, and everyone.
  • The Power of Love: When his pennies and friends' gadgets aren't enough to buy back Rabbit, Pooh whispers an idea into Christopher Robin's ear. Christopher Robin then asks the shopkeeper if all the love in his heart is enough for the sale, and the shopkeeper agrees, complete with an Affectionate Gesture to the Head.
  • The Psycho Rangers: While at the toy store, Rabbit is bullied by thuggish versions of Pooh, Tigger and Piglet, who have gone unsold for a while and are jealous that Rabbit got put in the window.
  • The Runaway: Rabbit decides to make a Bindle Stick and find someone who will appreciate him as someone special. He thinks it's the shopkeeper who affixes a Special sign to him.
