This episode has examples of

  • Comically Missing the Point: During the Swedish Chef skit, Danny explains that they are going to take a Swiss turkey, stuff him with Chinese ingredients, and make a Yugoslavian chicken out of him, to which the Chef tells him he's Swedish, not Yugoslavian. Danny clarifies that he's talking about the turkey, and the Chef says he's not a turkey either. Danny has to start talking in Mock Swedish to get him to understand.
  • Delayed "Oh, Crap!": At the start of the episode, Scooter finds Danny sleeping in his dressing room and commends him for being so calm when the show is about to start. When he wakes him up and informs him that it's fifteen seconds to curtain, Danny tells Scooter that it's fine before realising what he said and getting into a mad rush to get ready for the show.
  • Given Name Reveal: During the Swedish Chef spot, Danny claims the Chef's actual name is Tom.
  • High-Dive Hijinks: The Flying Zucchini Brothers hurl themselves from a height of two hundred feet, planning to dive into a bucket of water. Beauregard, mistaking the red-and-gold pail for his own bucket, picks it up just after they jump.
Beauregard: [entering] Hey, who left my bucket on the floor? [Picks it up.]
Kermit: [running in] Hey, don't move that bucket!
[One of the Zucchini Brothers crashes to the floor, then another, then another. They get up, dazed.]
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: Danny ends up saying the wrong thing too much when discussing "Cheek to Cheek" with Miss Piggy.
  • Out-of-Context Eavesdropping: Danny is dismayed when he finds Statler and Waldorf sitting in the alley and hears them badmouthing that night's guest. Turns out they had misheard the guest's name and thought it was Manny Kaye, the tuned clam player; once they realize it was Danny Kaye, they can't stop singing his praises.
  • Produce Pelting: While checking out Statler and Waldorf's box, Floyd and Janice find a bag of fruit intended to be used for this trope.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Statler and Waldorf both decide to leave when they hear that Danny Kaye is the special guest, and spend most of the episode in an alley behind the theatre. Turns out they heard wrong and thought the guest was Manny Kaye, a supposedly really bad entertainer, and are actually huge Danny Kaye fans.

Statler: There was something thrilling about being in the show tonight.
Waldorf: Yep. Not having to watch it.
