Recap / The Mask S 2 E 29 The Green Marine

Go To

The Mask is put on trial in military court for his unorthodox actions while serving as a Marine (which he accidentally signed up for, thinking it was a raffle for a new TV).

Tropes:

  • A Day in the Limelight: As before in the previous episodes The Mask appears entirely in this one while Stanley does not and it focuses on The Mask serving in the military and the reason why his chaotic nature might cause trouble in the army.
  • Bottle Episode: Most of this episode stays in the courtroom with the flashbacks that leads to The Mask being in court being the only thing that departs from the court.
  • Bait-and-Switch: The man accuses The Mask of costing the U.S Military millions of dollars due to his unruly antics and chaotic nature which The Mask objects so the man asks him he deny the charges which The Mask tells him not because of that but he objects to the cologne he's wearing.
  • Genre Savvy: The Mask knows what will happen if someone got the evidence on him which will get him in trouble like before so he eats all of the evidence with no one not knowing about what he did.
  • How We Got Here: The flashbacks show how The Mask ended up in the army and what he did to end up in court.
  • Variations on a Theme Song: For some unknown reason, this is the only episode on the show's digital and streaming release that has the syndicated version of the intro instead of the usual theme song.
