Frustrated by Edge City's mismanagement, Stanley puts on the Mask hoping he will teach Mayor Tilton a lesson. Instead, The Mask announces his candidacy against Mayor Tilton (actually Pretorius posing as Mayor Tilton) as the new mayor of Edge City.
Tropes:
- Artistic License – Politics: The Mask wins the election by one vote when only fifty percent of the precincts have voted. Obviously, this falls way too close to the margin of error to declare a decisive victory.
- Breather Episode: Considering the previous episode this is much needed since it involved an evil mask persona and this is one of the lighter episodes of the series.
- Decided by One Vote: The Mask is running against Mayor Tilton because Pretorius, who was posing as Tilton, planned to allow toxic waste to be dumped in Edge City. After all votes were counted, the Mask was ahead by one vote and Pretorius decided to dump the toxic waste anyway but Mask stopped him. The real Mayor Tilton has been rescued and, when a reporter tried to interview him about losing, he pointed out he didn't vote and there's still time. Mayor Tilton then voted for himself, bringing the election to a tie. Stanley then showed up and pointed out that since he was so busy being the Mask... 's campaign manager, he still hasn't voted. When Mayor Tilton asks Stanley to vote for him, Stanley asks in return that Mayor Tilton remove the extra parking meters (which had resulted in his getting a parking ticket earlier), reduce the fee to renew dog licenses and end the garbagemen's strike. Tilton accepted.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: The Mask is as always this as he manage to get the people to vote for him because of his friendliness.
- Loved by All: The Mask ends up being well-liked and loved by most people during his campaign due to his sweet nature along with also being a Jerk with a Heart of Gold as well despite his quirks.
- Politicians Kiss Babies: The Mask, of course, doesn't kiss babies, he kisses babes instead.
- Police Are Useless: A police officer gets met up by Stanley who tells him that he is being robbed and what does he do? He decide to give Stanley a parking ticket instead of going after the criminal because of new parking meters that are set in place which is one of the reasons that Stanley decide to bring his alter ego The Mask out.
- Non-Human Head: The Mask after coming out the hole he was in sees the reporter, Marie McDonald, and turns his head into that of a cartoon wolf then speaks in a exaggerated French accent about taking her to the Coco Bongo for the night, holds her in his arms while going over the hole he made until he remembers that he need to stop Pretorius.
- Only Sane Man: Stanley is this along with The Mask as they do not like how things are being done in Edge City such as the new parking meters which got Stanley a parking ticket because he placed his car in his usual spot.
