  • Beware the Nice Ones: Though she gets confused when her friends scamper off when coming to ask them to mend her fence, Florence does get frustrated with Dougal scampering off from her twice. Then the final straw comes when she finds him hiding from her in the dustbin, making her so angry and hurt that she decides to leave to visit some friends. When they try to persuade her to come back or to help them, she bitterly refuses while walking past them barely making eye contact. Their depressed reactions of seeing Florence upset like this makes them realise that the damage has been done.
  • Cassandra Truth: When Dougal tries to convince an angry Florence to come back, he tells her that he and her friends were actually planning a surprise party for her, but Florence was still hurt at his actions earlier that she refuses to believe him and continues her journey to visit some friends on her own. When she was unknowingly diverted back to her house, she does sees her friends pulling off the party for her the minute she walks through the gate and she is overjoyed.
  • Cruel to Be Kind: After Florence finds Dougal in the dustbin and tells him off for continuously avoiding her before she storms back home to pack her suitcase, Dougal says this word-for-word.
    Dougal: Sometimes, you just have to be cruel to be kind.
  • Garbage Hideout: Dougal hides in a dustbin to hide from Florence to prevent her from finding out about the secret surprise thank-you party for her. However from inside the dustbin, he tells Fly not to let Florence he is in there, unknowingly letting Florence know his presence.
  • Heel Realization: Everyone, including Dougal, avoids Florence when she came to ask them to help her fix her fence has really upset her. Later when they hear from Zebedee that Florence is leaving the garden to visit some friends, they realise their actions on avoiding her has really upset her and gave the impression that they are being mean to her.
  • My God, What Have I Done?:
    • Everyone realises that their actions on avoiding Florence has caused her to think they are being mean to her. They feel more worse when they fail to convince an already hurt Florence to turn around.
    • Florence has her moment as well when she is feeling bad after severely turning her friends away when they try to convince her to come back.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Dougal and everyone avoid Florence when she came to ask them to help her mend her fence, but this upsets Florence so much that she packs her suitcase and leaves to visit some friends who will have time for her.
  • Parting-Words Regret: When everybody tries to convince Florence to come back, but she is still mad at them for avoiding her and refuses, with her severely telling them, including Dougal that she is going to visit a friend. Later on, she begins to regret this after she has calmed down.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When finding Dougal hiding in the dustbin became the final straw for poor Florence, she storms back home, packs her suitcase and decides to leave the garden to visit some friends who will have time for her. She doesn't even bother letting her friends know of where she is going because they avoided her and she thinks they don't have time for her. Fortunately, Zebedee secretly diverts her back home where she changes her mind of going away after her friends manage to pull off a surprise thank-you party for her.
  • Surprise Party: Dougal and his friends are planning a surprise thank-you party for Florence, but they all had to avoid her to keep her from finding out the details. However, their actions on avoiding Florence, when she came to ask them one-by-one to help mend her fence, has made her very upset and decides to leave to visit some friends who will have time for her. Fortunately, Zebedee secretly lures her back home where they manage to pull off the party for her.
  • Tranquil Fury: Because she is so hurt and upset, Florence undergoes this as she is leaving the gardens to visit some friends. When her friends try to convince her to come back or ask her for help, Florence refuses in a calm, but severe way without raising her voice one bit. This what makes her friends realise that they have gone too far on avoiding her where they really have upset her.
  • Was Too Hard on Him: Florence was so hurt and angry at her friends for avoiding her that she refuses to come back home and when they try to convince her to come back, she severely tells them that she is leaving to visit some friends. Later, Florence begins to feel bad for being cross with her friends.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Florence chews Dougal out for avoiding her when she finds him hiding in the dustbin.
  • With a Foot on the Bus: Though she isn't really leaving the garden for good, Florence is actually leaving to see some friends for a while who would have time for her after feeling very hurt and upset that no one, not even Dougal himself, would help her to mend her fence as they keep avoiding her. After her friends fail to convince Florence to come back, Zebedee manages to secretly diverts Florence back to her house where everybody manages to throw the surprise party for her. Feeling overjoyed that her friends surprised her with a thank you party and realising that they weren't actually avoiding her, Florence decides not to go away after all and instead stays to celebrate her party with her friends.
