How Double Dare You!

The siblings ask Lisa to help them get on Double Dare.

Snoop's On

After secretly reading Luna's diary, Leni and Lincoln become worried about the exploits their sister writes about.

How Double Dare You!

  • Accidental Misnaming: Leni calls Marc Summers "Marv".
  • Crossover: With Double Dare.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Lisa did not program Dare-bot with sports trivia in favor of sarcasm, rendering him unable to answer a sports-themed question. She also did not program him to be waterproof in favor of wit, causing him to malfunction and lose the physical challenge as a result, and Lincoln and Leni to catch up to them.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Lisa gives her Dare-bot a Dope Slap for trying to kill Lori, Luna, Lucy, Lola, and Lily after they lose her first challenge.
  • Genius Ditz: Leni may not be the smartest Loud sister, but she is able to correctly answer a geographical question, courtesy of her fashion knowledge.
  • Recycled Soundtrack: The main theme of Double Dare "On Your Marc" is used on the title card and during the game show.
  • Robot Buddy: Lisa creates Dare-bot to help find her best partner to be on Double Dare. In the end, she chooses him to go on the show with her.
  • Sweet and Sour Grapes: In the end, Lisa and Dare-bot end up losing the game to Lincoln and Leni, and Lisa apologizes for having underestimated her siblings' abilities. As the winners, Lincoln and Leni get to choose the prize, and much to Lisa's surprise, they choose the spaceship (which was what she was going to choose if she had won). Lincoln and Leni explain that they didn't really care about winning the show—Lincoln just wanted the chance to meet Marc Summersinvoked while Leni just used the show as a way to help build her brand as an influencer, so they're willing to give Lisa the prize she wanted after all.
  • Worth It: Lana responds with this when Lisa disqualifies her from the contest to get on Double Dare due to grossing her out by eating an old slice of pizza from the couch.

Snoop's On

  • Aesop Enforcer: In order to get back at Leni and Lincoln (and later, Luan) for reading her diary, Luna writes a bunch of fake entries about her being in a rebellious phase (ditching school, sneaking out at night, getting a tattoo, vandalism) in order to get them to fess up.
  • Bar Brawl: Lincoln, Leni, and Luan try to prevent Luna from starting one at a biker bar by making it seem like the bar is closed before she even gets there. Unfortunately for them, they're forced to flee from several angry bikers as a result, especially after Mr. Coconuts makes a crack about their hygiene.
  • Blanket Fort: The beginning shows Leni looking for a book to read for English class because Lily used all the books in the house to build a fort.
  • Bullying a Dragon: When Lincoln, Leni, and Luan are confronted by a pair of angry bikers for turning off their sign, Mr. Coconuts insults their apparent lack of hygiene, angering them further. After they get away, Luan puts him in time-out.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: After the first time Leni and Lincoln read Luna's diary, Luna goes off to have a jam session with Sam. At the end, it's revealed that Sam had disguised herself as "Roxy" for the final part of Luna's plan.
  • Continuity Nod: This isn't the first time one of the Loud siblings pranked another one to teach them a lesson.
  • Didn't Think This Through: After the first time they (accidentally) read Luna's diary, Lincoln and Leni get curious about what the supposed secret was and sneak into Luna's room when she leaves for band practice to read it some more. They forgot that it's Luan's room, too, resulting in the comedian catching them snooping around and getting involved in the whole situation.
  • Easily Forgiven: Luna wasn't that mad about Lincoln, Leni, and Luan reading her diary; she was just writing those fake exploits to get them to confess and is pretty cool with it once they apologize for invading her privacy.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Reading someone's diary is something that Luan can't even joke about. It doesn't stop her from reading Luna's diary though.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: When Luna groggily goes to the bathroom the morning after she supposedly snuck out, the tattoo she supposedly got on her lower left leg covered by her boot is missing. This foreshadows that Luna is faking her rebellious phase to trick Lincoln, Leni, and Luan into confessing that they read her diary.
  • Foreshadowing: Even before the actual reveal, it's fairly obvious to notice that "Roxy" wears the same purple jeans with cuts on the knees, studded belt, and earrings as Sam.
  • Heavy Sleeper: When Luna faked sneaking back into the house to trick Luan, she had to creak the window several times to get Luan to wake up, much to the rocker's frustration.
  • Once More, with Clarity: After Luna reveals that her whole rebellious phase was all an act to get her siblings to confess they read her diary, it flashes back to the beginning of the episode to show how she found out in the first place. After Luna walked up the stairs, she noticed that one of Leni's blonde hairs in the diary. When she stopped at the top of the stairs to observe it, she overheard both her and Lincoln talking about reading her diary.
  • Perp Sweating: Luan and Mr. Coconuts do this to Leni when they catch her and Lincoln snooping around in the comedian's and Luna's bedroom.
  • Secret Diary: The episode centers on Lincoln, Leni, and Luan reading Luna's diary.
  • Shout-Out: The ninja outfits that Lincoln, Leni, and Luan wear during the second half of the episode include metal forehead protectors.
  • Shown Their Work: In Michigan, where The Loud House takes place, it's legal for anybody under eighteen to get a tattoo as long as they have a written consent letter from their parents/guardians. So if Luna did actually get a tattoo, it's totally possible for her to have gotten one in a legitimate tattooing studio if she had a forged letter from the Loud parents.
  • Skipping School: One of the fake exploits that Luna writes about in her diary is about her and "Roxy" ditching school during Pre-Calc to watch the newest slasher film at the mall's theater.
  • Spotting the Thread: Before Luna overhears Leni and Lincoln talking about reading her diary, she finds one of Leni's long, blonde hairs sticking out of the book and stopped to examine it.
  • Stuffed into a Trashcan: Luna throws Mr. Coconuts in a trash can when he probes her about the secret she originally wrote in her diary.
  • The Reveal: Luna knew all along that Leni, Lincoln, and Luan were snooping in her diary because she overheard Leni and Lincoln talking about it the first time they (albeit accidentally) did it. Luna subsequently decided to write down a bunch of fake bad exploits and had Sam pose as "Roxy" to pressure her siblings into confessing that they invaded her privacy.
  • Take a Third Option: After Lincoln, Leni, and Luan find out about Luna and "Roxy's" planned "night of mayhem", Leni suggests telling Lynn Sr. and Rita about what's going on, but then Luan points out that Luna would hate them for the rest of their lives for snitching to their parents and for reading her diary. That's when Lincoln suggests that they sabotage Luna's "plans" for themselves.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: Lincoln, Leni, and Luan feel that Luna's friend Roxy is this. Subverted when it turns out that Roxy is actually Sam, who was helping Luna trick her siblings.
  • The Un-Reveal: We never find out what was the big secret Luna originally wrote in her diary. She throws Mr. Coconuts in a trash can when he asks her about it.
  • "Walk on the Wild Side" Episode: Subverted. It seems like Luna has gotten into a serious rebellious phase at first, but then it turns out she was making those exploits up to get her siblings to confess that they read her diary.
  • Wig, Dress, Accent: Sam's "Roxy" disguise consists of a dark brown wig that covers her eyes, a gray stocking cap, a black jacket with a skull on the back, purple fingerless gloves, a plain white shirt, and black boots along with her usual pants, belt, and earrings.
  • Wham Line: When Lincoln, Leni, and Luan manage to catch Luna before she supposedly removes the "R" off the Royal Woods City Hall sign, they finally confess that they read her diary to get her to stop, setting up The Reveal.
    Luna: [furious] You what?!
Leni: We're really sorry for invading your privacy. And we totes get it if you hate us forever, but we couldn't let you ruin your life!
Luna: [Suddenly bursts out laughing] Duh! I knew you dudes were snooping in my diary! That's why I made up this whole rebellious act!
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: After Luna reveals how she pranked her siblings, Leni thinks that the nearby security guard was an actor hired by Luna, too. However, he turns out to be a real security guard, forcing the kids to flee (and thankfully get away) before they get arrested for trespassing on the City Hall grounds that were closed for the night.
