- Acid Attack: The insect monster can spit green acid, strong enough to melt metal. Its own acid is eventually used to defeat it by mixing it with baking soda.
- Acquired Situational Narcissism: Jack slips into this when retelling how Blarg was defeated. He quickly gets over it though.
- Edible Bludgeon: Dirk uses 2 sausage strings as nunchucks when fighting the insect monster.
- Insult Backfire: When Quint calls Jack a monster because of his new narcissism, the other monsters take this as a sign that Jack is one of them and like him even more because of it.
- Lethal Chef: The monster serving as a chef at Joe’s Chef makes truly horrible food. When Dirk calls him out on it, it leads to a Cooking Duel, which Dirk eventually wins.
- Mid-Season Upgrade: It is only the second episode, but June’s spear which she had since season 1 is upgraded when coated in the insect monster’s remains, making it far more destructible.
- Multi-Armed and Dangerous: The chef-monster has multiple arms, which he can extend and retract at will.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Dirk tries to fight the insect monster by feeding it yeast, but since yeast expands this causes the creature to grow even larger.
- The Reveal: We learn this episode the monsters came from another dimension, and the anomaly that brought them here was caused by Rezzoch.
