Bykov must give a sex education lecture to school students, which he obviously doesn't like, so makes his best to hide from her. Soon afterwards, Levin has a conflict with Bykov, which results in angry Bykov threatening to punish him if Levin gets busted making out with Lyuba on duty. When this eventually happens (despite it was not their fault), Lyuba suggests that if they are already punished, may as well proceed to the "crime" itself. The only problem is to find a place where they wouldn't be caught. They finally finds such place... only to learn that Bykov chose it as well, as his hiding spot from Kisegach. Bykov punishes them... by forcing them to do the lecture themselves.
Lobanov recognises Gleb's patient as his old army instructor, who mistreated him before; now, it's his chance to make him pay. Lobanov switches badges with Romanenko to hide his true identity, and prepares to "treat" his old enemy. To make his vengeance even more karmic, Semyon decides to act like he is an army instructor himself, and the patient is his subordinate; he then proceeds to horribly abuse him. Fortunately, Bykov finds out, and Semyon gets punished.
Varya is assigned to work under Kupitman, but she is too uncomfortable near naked people (she can't even pronounce the word "penis"). Being a venereologist, Kupitman can't make any use out of Varya until he finds a way to deal with her shyness. Kupitman tasks her with at least training to pronounce the word "penis" aloud. After she still fails, he threatens to force her to examine several men, which causes her to panic and finally break this psychological block; even if she refuses to work under him, Kupitman still sees it as success.
This episode provides examples of:
- Brick Joke: That sex education lecture Kisegach needs Bykov for? It finally happens in the end... and Bykov forces Levin and Lyuba to give it, as a punishment for violating his previous orders. Levin tries to explain how puberty works for boys, in his usual manner, while Lyuba just says that girls grows tits.
- Drill Sergeant Nasty: Lobanov's plot is entirely build around his former army instructor now being his (or, rather, Romanenko's; they'd switched badges) patient:
- Lobanov's patient is his old army instructor, whom he still can't forget and forgive. According to Semyon, he was insufferable jerk prone to abuse the trainees, up to and including forcing them to scrubbing the toilets with toothbrushes. But in the normal life, the guy is not that bad; they even befriends each other in the end.
- Lobanov tries to imitate his old army instructor (as he perceives him) and subject the man to all possible kinds of abuse he can think of, in misguided belief that it's well-deserved punishment; in truth, he just abuses sick old man (not to mention, his patient) for no good reason, just out of petty revenge.
- Jerkass:
- Bykov mistreats Levin and threatens to punish him if he gets caught making out with Lyuba. Why? Because Bykov is in the bad mood after being tasked with sex education lecture.
- Lobanov cruelly abuses his patient (the former Drill Sergeant Nasty, but now just sick old man who depends on him) simply to avenge some years-old grudges (and it quickly becomes clear that most of such cases were quite deserved punishments); this goes bad enough to drive poor guy to tears. And Lobanov does not stop here, either.
- Kick the Dog: Lobanov spends the whole episode cruelly abusing his old Drill Sergeant Nasty (who's now his patient), including, amongst the other things, forcing him to do hard work (disregarding his poor health), and constantly shouting on him. It's bad enough to drive the poor guy to tears, while Lobanov still goes on.
- Laser-Guided Karma:
- Invoked by Lobanov in him abusing his patient in a manner which represents Lobanov being the Drill Sergeant Nasty, and the patient being his subordinate. However, it's actually Subverted, as the instructor just did his job (not to mention, much of Semyon's punishments were well-deserved), while Lobanov blatantly violates his duties as a doctor to mistreat a sick old man and his patient.
- Lobanov eventually gets busted and punished. Bykov even acts like a Drill Sergeant Nasty just for added irony. After that, Semyon gets forgiven by his patient, and they finally gets along.
- Not What It Looks Like: Bykov catches Lyuba with half-naked Levin, and mistakes this for sex. In truth, they searched for new clothes for Levin, since his old one was splashed by coffee.
- Out of Focus: Gleb only briefly appears twice during Lobanov's and twice during Varya's plots, but has no his personal story in this episode.
- Shrinking Violet: Varya is too shy to interact with naked people (or even look on them... or even say the word "penis" aloud, including near Gleb). Since she is assigned to work under Kupitman (a venereologist), this is a serious problem. When all "normal" methods fails, Kupitman just blatantly orders her to examine several people, which leads to Varya panicking and screaming "I wouldn't examine your penises!". Exactly what Kupitman wanted.
- Small Role, Big Impact: While Gleb has no his own plot this time, he plays the crucial role in Semyon's, as the Drill Sergeant Nasty was originally his patient, until he switched with Lobanov.
- A Taste of Their Own Medicine: Lobanov chose to play with his patient like he's the Drill Sergeant Nasty, and the guy is his subordinate. He fails to take into account that this guy is his patient (which makes it highly unethical) and is a sick old man (which makes it outright cruel).
- Too Dumb to Live: We learn from Lobanov's old Drill Sergeant Nasty that Lobanov, back in army, was dumb enough to use a live grenade to crack nuts with it. It's not the only such story, either.
