A Plot: When Adam wants to spend time with Dana instead of his mother, Beverly decides to teach him a lesson.
B Plot: Barry and Erica talk Adam into taking Dana to a haunted house.
- Coordinated Clothes: Adam and Dana dress as the alien and Ripley from Alien, respectively, for Halloween. It is also revealed that Beverly always dressed to match Adam's costume against his wishes; this year she went as the Predator, using the Alien vs. Predator comic book as an excuse. (Adam chose Alien thinking it was mom-proof.)
- Halloween Episode: The episode is set on the holiday, and features costumes and a haunted house attraction in the plots.
- Skewed Priorities: Adam runs to Beverly and tells her that Barry broke one of his bones in a haunted house and that he can't move, which worries her a bit. But when he says that Erica hooked back up with a frat boy that she dated, she borrows the Huang family's catchphrase: "Oh, HELL no!"
