"We have information about Campbell's plans, resources to share."

Directed by David Straiton

"Look, I've learned the hard way that hate feeds on fear. And if you run, hate wins."
Clarice Fong / Blink

After the massacre of Sentinel Services agents by the Frost sisters, the Mutant Underground is put into an even tighter situation and has to decide wether to allywith the manipulative triplets or not.

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Wimp: The Purifiers we see in the intro scene seem to be just a group of violent bullies, as opposed to the combat-trained and well-equipped paramilitary army they are in the comics.
  • The Bus Came Back: The Struckers meet Wes again, much to Lauren's joy.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The group has no chance against the combined powers of the two Hounds and barely manage to escape.
  • Drama-Preserving Handicap: Andy gets knocked out by the Hounds during the attack, keeping him and Lauren from turning their combined powers on the Hounds and Sentinel Services.
  • Due to the Dead: The funerals of Agent Ed Weeks and Sonia are shown simultaneously.
  • Easily Forgiven: Lorna in particular has no hard feelings about what Esme did and agrees with her and the other sisters on how to continue the fight.
  • Enemy Mine: At the end of the episode, the Underground decides to ally with the Frost sisters and the Hellfire Club, despite there still being animosities.
  • A House Divided: The Underground starts falling apart due to opposing viewpoints on how they should continue the fight. The Frost sisters conspire to have one of the Underground's safehouses raided to get the fencesitters to pick a side.
  • Manipulative Bastard: The Frost sisters, once again. This time they go so far as to tip Sentinel Services off on the Mutant Underground, which results in several innocent mutants being captured and possibly experimented on, all just to convince them to join forces.
  • Manly Tears: John is seen weeping after Dreamer's funeral.
  • Muggle–Mage Romance: A flashback shows Clarice dating a normal human. Until they get harassed by Purifiers and he just wants to keep quiet instead of standing up for her.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Sage discovers the identities of the Frost sisters but adds that they constantly employ different names and the last time they were apprehended they claimed their surname was Cuckoo. In the comics, the Stepford Cuckoos are Emma Frost' clones/genetic daughters created from her harvested eggs.
    • One of the sisters namedrops their "Three-In-One" codename from the comics when she secretly meets Andy.
    • Esme mentions how Lorna's real father was a leader of the Hellfire Club, either referencing how he apparently took control of the organization at the end of X-Men: First Class or his forgettable tenure as White King in the pages of New Mutants.
  • The Stinger: After the credits, a video blog called the "Circle of Truth" does an exposé on the Hellfire Club, accusing them of sowing unrest around the world. The video is cut off when someone bashes his door in.
  • 10-Minute Retirement: The Struckers try to leave for Mexico, but Esme and her sisters manipulate events to make sure they stay in the fight.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: After the death of his partner and friend Ed Weeks, Turner is even more determined to bring down the Mutant Underground.
  • Wonder Twin Powers: Dr. Campbell has created a gauntlet which mixes the blood of any two Hounds, amplifying their powers considerably. The two mutants shown had limited control of inertia and gravity, but combined can tear apart a building.

"They're in."
