Go To

Original air date: 5/6/2023

When a scary ghost possesses a doll in the human world, Molly is determined to see the good in him.

Tropes:

  • Bait-and-Switch: We're led to believe that Lord Doom is faking his Heel–Face Turn and wants to get rid of Molly, as shown by him cutting her out of some photos. The truth is that he made a gift for her using the photos he cut out.
  • A Bloody Mess: Molly sees a red substance splattered all over the kitchen and thinks Lord Doom killed someone, but it was actually red paint for the present he was making for her.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Lord Doom, much like the Frightmares, is a rowdy and troublesome ghost who was trapped in the Flow of Failed Phantoms by the old Chairman.
    • The doll Lord Doom gets stuck in is Molly's old Baby Jessie doll, first seen in "Scare Tactics".
    • Gertrude and Hidalgo from "Home is Where the Haunt Is" are back, and they had their baby. At the end of the episode, the doll that Lord Doom is possessing gets adopted by the family.
  • Creepy Doll: The baby doll becomes sinister once Lord Doom possesses it. Subverted, as while it looks and sounds creepy, Lord Doom is trying to be good.
  • Exact Words: Scratch intended to trap Lord Doom in a soda bottle, but the incantation he uses says that he'll be trapped "in the first vessel you see." So, when Lord Doom falls through a portal to the human world before being trapped, the first thing he sees is a baby doll.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Lord Doom is said to have devoured an entire village of people and then had their ghosts for dessert.
  • Sealed Evil in a Teddy Bear: Scratch intended to seal Lord Doom in a soda bottle, but a mishap caused him to possess a doll instead.
  • Sheep in Sheep's Clothing: Lord Doom is making a genuine effort to be nice, he's just really bad at expressing it, which makes Molly suspicious of him.
  • Stab the Salad: During the music number, Lord Doom is hacking something with a butcher knife, but is actually cutting up vegetables for crudite.
  • Shout-Out: Lord Doom’s appearance in his original form, as well as his voice, are rather similar to Lord Hater from Wander over Yonder.
